It was last Sunday (Apr. 16th) and was a huge success! 🥳 The radio even interviewed me (that's how you know you live in a small town 😅) and I had so many people come up to me, thanking me for planning it. So, thank you both for the inspiration - we're going to do them multiple times a year from now on, and even incorporate outdoor garden and seed swaps! 🥳💚

It was an amazing event Emma 🪴 I feel so blessed coming away with several wishlist plants and some amazing extras I didn't event know I needed. You and Joe were so welcoming and the perfect happy faces to welcome ppl, having the chance to finally meet you IRL was lovely, you are an absolute star hunny and it was lovely to watch you in your element, so full of joy and energy you have such an amazing energy. Thanks for introducing me to claire she has such a lovely energy also. Aran is just the sweetest and a joy to talk with. All of you who pulled thus event together done an amazing job, it was a blast from start to finish, and was a truly special experience 😊 I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't been to one of the swaps to really try to attend the next one. With the Ephorbia, I have one (brought it from nunhead gardener 2 years ago tiny for like 2.99) there's a few different types, standard green and Rubra (most common ones) rubra grows red leaves and more of a red hue (so yours could be this) and once they get growing they grow super quick. Mine is on a south facing window sill and it's almost touching the ceiling now 😂 Mine also dropped all its leaves in the first winter and then, I read they drop their leaves because of underwatering so, I made sure that I watered it more often (in the winter just gone) and its kept all its leaves and they've all grown back lovely 😊

I loved your expression regarding the cactus 😀🌵I have lived all over the US. Around the New England states, down to Florida as well as Arizona, Albuquerque, Las Vegas, and down to Mexico. It was wonderful having air plants, cacti, succulents, and aloe vera growing freely outside. I love houseplants period and hated every time I moved to another country having to leave sell and give them away.

You might have more luck finding a cheaper/free venue in Glasgow as Edinburgh can be quite pricey but I think there might be more of a crowd in Edinburgh. Also, if you get any downtime there is a cat cafe in the centre of Edinburgh that is deeeeelightful!
From an arizona desert rat.. stick that euphorbia in soil and let that bad boy settle in. Leave the cactus in soil and put it on a dry/bright spot and water when you remember. Cute little guys!! 🫶🏼🌵
I love watching the before and after swaps. I really wanted to come to this one, just the day before the new term would have been too difficult (# teacher problems). Definitely going to get to one eventually! Unless you fancy coming to the seaside?!

@@pinkyysk Similar to me. I started with like Sanseviera. Then at some point I was all about "rare" plants etc. Now I'm into weird looking, "cactus/succulents" like plants and Sanseviera again 😅
I live in California and have tons of succulents and cactus...i just take a piece of my succulent and stick it in another pot and it will grow,,,no need to root

I did that too but now starting to appreciate them again which I never thought I would. Its so fun to see how tastes changed
