The Kumasi international airport was built with money acquired by the government of Ghana, NOT the Asantehene’s money or funds. Why name the airport prempeh 1st airport??? We have temaley airport, takoradi airport why prempeh international airport?? What has or did prempeh the it’s do or done for Ghana. For Ghana to remember him and honour him? Y r Ashanti’s treated differently? Why ? Why ooooo why??
University of Ghana Legon became a reality because of funds contributed by Nana Prempeh II and his farmers yet not one facility on that campus is named after him...the best in that regard is "Akuafo Hall".. The KNUST we know likewise became a reality because of him and people even ignorantly credit Dr Nkrumah for it..Yet even that they did not count it loss honoring Dr Nkrumah with it by naming it after him later... Ghana as we have today became a reality because he consented to merging Ashanti (which could have stayed autonomous as it already was) with the then Gold Coast after the persistent persuasion by the likes of J.B Danquah , Kwame Nkrumah etc. the civilian political leaders of the then Gold Coast. Ashanti was a nation before joining the then Gold Coast (coastal and Eastern states) and the other British territories to form Ghana and now it is formally declared a sub nation state even in the UN charter etc.... unfortunately because of intellectual dishonesty and questionable political reasons, it is popularized to the modern Ghanaian y our poor education system as just one of the regions, tribe etc... Nothing wrong if that Airport is named after one of the legends of Ashanti and Ghana as a whole. Get off the chokehold. Asantei actually deserves more if you learn history of this nation objectively well enough.

Then again you may have to also tell us why the airport in Accra is named after Kotoka and what exactly Kotoka achieved for Ghana really?
