Godzilla he is the king of the monsters and he is best kaiju ever

One of the most popular icons in Japanese pop culture history.
If I remember correctly, Godzilla the number 1 icon in Japan.
Your not wrong .
Without a doubt!
Godzilla is a reference from the nukes in Japan
Not just japanese pop culture history. Pop culture period.
Godzilla is an anti hero. when he fights a monster, a lot of the time its for his own purposes. (and a lot of that time, humanity benefits from that)
That’s why I think Godzilla should be portrayed as an anti hero that attacks both humanity (since they threatened the environment with the emergence of nuclear weapons which is what gave birth to him) and kaiju that threaten the planet (like King Ghidorah for instance)
He is an hero for nature
So kong is tricked because human are evil and we suck?

He is an anti hero
@@LetsFollowGod123sounds like Bendu in Rebels
He’s both a hero, villain and a force of nature in my point of view.
Godzilla is a hero, he has saved the world countless times from bigger threats like king ghidorah, mechagodzilla, destoroyah, and other monsters. Whenever Godzilla acted like a villain he was either brainwashed or was angry that humanity had been using nuclear weapons to wake him up. So in the end I think he is a hero.
Right
Hes doing his job in nature
And he's acts like a villain of someone trys to replace him
Agree
I agree he only attacks if humans disturb him or attack him
When I was a kid he was my hero. I was obsessed with Godzilla movies. Love the big G. Hated whenever he was the villain or would lose.
Same! Also with kong

He's weirdly avoided Japan in recent times

He’s more of a neutral. He’s only focused on the other kaiju he has to fight. Otherwise, he’s very chill and likes to keep to himself.
You clearly haven’t seen G54, any of the Heisei movies, most of the millennium movies, or any of the reiwa movies
@@werykjaw In heisei, apart from the first, Godzilla is not really "evil" or uselessy destructive. Just in the space godzilla one he destroy a city, but it's for rescuing his son, in fact Heisei Godzilla is maybe the neutralest one.
Godzilla is part of nature. He can be benevolent or malevolent, depending on circumstances. In the end, he may not be on our side full-time, but at least he knows that whatever happens, we're still on his side.
"Lesser of two evils" doesn't have to mean straight-up evil, after all.
Godzilla is like Deadpool he does what he wants be lucky that he doesn't decide to destroy us all
It's not a hero vs monster story. It's two absolute power houses beating the living hell out of each other and that's what makes it interesting, in my opinion.
That’s what I pay to see
Neither, he's a physical *GOD* . His morality and ethics are _literally bigger_ than humanity; it's like us taking an interest in freedom, justice, politics, and natural balance in insect colonies
*looks at Godzilla sliding with his tail to do a kangaroo kick and flying off like a rocket with his atomic breath* I mean, after looking at that, how could you say he's not a hero?
The flying drop kick is rather hilarious, doesn't make sense but if makes people laugh it's a good thing to add to his résumé
That time of Godzilla after his first bout with King Ghidorah, GODZILLA IS BASICALLY SUPERMAN.
Of course Godzilla is a hero. I mean he has been saving everyone.

Godzilla defends his home, he takes out the opposing force, he is a dominant creature that is mostly peaceful. If a giant creature was attacking us, Godzilla would come
Fun fact, Godzilla awakes of his vision by the one enemy: Alan Jonah. He is brainwashed so he is starting to rampaging the city and he said "ALAN JONAH! WHERE ARE YOU NOW!?" That's why Godzilla must find that stupid man
Godzilla is an intellectual property who's morals depend on the writer
Until the character develops traits and the writers have to write around those traits, makes it boil down to what everyone is discussing here. THAT character with those traits, how would he be classified.

He’s both. But definitely leans on the hero side when King Ghidorah is involved.
One thing I loved about 1991 GvKG, Godzilla was voth the hero and the villain, but he was the villain because he was angry about the humans mutating him without asking him, and being changed like that in such a life altering thing made him understandably angry at Japan. But he gets to fight another monster, TWICE.
@@SWyrick366 Right.
He's neither a hero nor a villain. He's the personification of nature, balanced and neutral but I like to think that he's a hero.
Godzilla 1954 is one of the best, iconic and nostalgic movie ever of Godzilla in all the time and this movie is a masterpiece of the director Ishiro Honda
Did you know Raymond Burr was added to the cast as an American reporter named Stephen Martin to make the film more appealing to American audiences?

Godzilla is a good guy he's only bad if you mess with him 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Ever since I was in kindergarten and my dad would play Godzilla for me, I've always seen him as the true equalizer. He is neither good nor bad he just destroys stuff, bringing balance. Just like nature. And for anyone D&D out there. He's chaotic neutral lol!
In the D&D realm he would be lawful neutral.
Did anyone else see that in the beginning, they showed a clip from Godzilla 2014 and said it was Godzilla 1954 lol
Godzilla he is the best and iconic Japanese Kaiju ever in the history of Japan and in theaters and Godzilla he is the real king of monsters in all the time
As a deep Godzilla fanatic, it depends on what movie or comic but the overall ideals of Godzilla is that he wants the to be the king of Earth no matter the cost or who’s in the way. In D&D terms he is typically chaotic neutral. Of course there are exceptions but in general he’s out for himself or the preservation of Earth
Monster that we all love
Nice explanation! I'm convinced. Plz continue the series for other intriguing topics like the moral code of batman and stuff like that.
Watchmojo your always bringing a smile to my face
Since Godzilla is often described as "a force of nature," he's more...in-between the line of hero and villain.
You don't call tornadoes, hurricanes, snow storms or typhoons villainous whenever they happen; they just do. Of course, G-Man mostly seems to appear whenever humans decide to stupidly toy with or abuse nature
Or other monsters are a threat to nature.
I think he’s a neutral misunderstood creature. After all, the word Kaiju is a combination of the words “mysterious” and “beast”. You’re never sure if something is good or evil if it is mysterious
Well done, WM. Nailed it. Great video.
The editing on this channel is movie tier!
Name of the Video should be “Is Godzilla a Hero, Villain, Anti-Hero or Anti-Villain.”
I'll do you one better, Why is Godzilla?
The question is not if he is good or evil. The question is, how he is...

This video is very well-done. *Godzilla* is one of my all time favorite characters out of any genre. I'm glad to see The King of The Monsters get his due respect.
I love this!!!
Godzilla he is one of the most popular iconic and best Kaiju ever in Japan and the pop culture history in all the time
I think he just don't fight for his pride, but the world on a whole too. Not particularly humans, he don't give a shit about them but he tries to prevent the destruction the villains of his films try to do, he just want to mind their own business instead of showing up suddenly into human civilization which is not where they were living for some 100s of years.
Godzilla is treated like a villain until he's needed to take on another monster.
He always knew that some humans were shit and then they have the nerve to create this abomination?!
It depends on Godzilla, whenever he's destroying the planet or saving it depends on his motivations. He's is acting out for the planet's behalf when there's a new threat he would take action whenever someone or something comes between him and his foes.
He not just a hero or villain.
Hes a SAVIOR💥⚡✨
Godzilla he is a anti-hero for various reasons because he save many people in different movies of Godzilla but he kill many people in Tokyo and other countries in other Godzilla movies
Hes always been in Japan in toho movies (minus Hong Kong in vs destotorah and in space and then in Final Wars)
The 1978 TV series Godzilla was the show when I first knew and recognized Godzilla as a hero, never a villain, as he fought very interesting monsters while helping his human companions. While I do acknowledge and respect that Godzilla was an Anti-Hero, Anti-Villain, and a villain in most of his films, I still find it interesting to see a giant monster fighting other giant monsters who are worse then him.
No matter what the films portrays him as, or how humanity in the films sees him as, Godzilla will always be a hero to me, as well as other G followers who shares my sympathy for the big guy. Long live the King!
Awesome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It just depends on the story really. If it's something like Godzilla vs Hedorah, Godzilla is the good guy. If it's Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla 2 though, then he's the bad guy.
Neither he’s balance when the world starts to tilt to one side he straightens it up.
Summed it up perfectly. Also if Zilla was beefed up bigger and immune to missles +true atomic breath like in the show do you think she could be in the Monsterverse
Now it makes want to see a Godzilla & Pacific Rim crossover as it would be cool seeing Godzilla hunt those other alien Kaiju's.
IT HASNT EVEN BEEN A MINUTE
Imagine if Godzilla and King Kong they gonna be best and awesome friends kaijus ever in the ending of Monsterverse
Godzilla is a hero. He's just not the human kind😊. Also he is a good guy in his own way
Exactly, as a creature that is just trying to protect his home, his Status, and his well being you can't blame the big guys actions. The thought came to mind of do you think of the bugs well-being when you step on them?
Godzilla is in many ways, selfish. He protects himself, his pride and his reputation
00:04 still makes me laugh. So corny
I call Godzilla’s type of Alignment “Chaotic Neutral”
I've always preferred Godzilla as a hero, both literally and figuratively. True, his actions are very polarizing when seeing his various roles in his films. Over the years, I've come to see Godzilla, not as just a Force of Nature, but a reflection towards humanity. Whenever he is in a more heroic position, he does that in favor of Nature's order and protection, an order we may or may not have a part in, and when he's in a more villainous role, it's usually on account of something we've done to him or in a larger sense, Nature. In a way, he becomes what humanity needs him to be, and sometimes what we need isn't always what we want. When mankind needs a hero to save them a completely destructive force, he is that, and when Mankind needs an adversary to humble them and remind them of their folly, he is that. I also see him as both, he is both a Force of Nature, and a Freak of Nature, Man's greatest savior, and its greatest threat. Our greatest friend and our greatest judge.
In short, He's the Hero, and the Villain, and so much more.
@Spaijit in my own opinion Godzilla works more of a straight up Anti-Hero hero over a straight up Hero ever since he attacks humans while protecting earth from evil
I believe the only truly evil iteration of Godzilla is GMK. For the others it’s only in their nature to destroy but GMK takes pleasure in causing suffering and destruction.
Well, also the original Godzilla from the 1954 film was truly evil
i am so early and dont know what to say.
Godzilla is a Force of Nature, we must not make him angry.
I got chills when dark knight music turns.
He’s just an animal wether you like it or not he doesn’t have evil intentions he just wants to stay alive
I think he's a helicopter
He's a hero actually who likes to keep his reign as king. As you noticed in the end of the KOTM ending...all of the other titans bowed and of coarse sometime later retreated back to where they were in the first place. Godzilla obviously keeps them all in check so they don't do any destruction to man and especially the world. It's always the monsters that are killing man and destroying the world are the ones that Godzilla fights. Notice in the Godzilla 2014 movie....he went under battleships and did what he can to avoid any interaction or conflict with man but still get shot at anyways fucking up his coordination and speed to get to his opponent period. And that all makes the destruction on man worse when they fuck up his determination to go after the threat. And obviously... any destruction that Godzilla does is not on purpose at all.... I mean, are you gonna care about the ants and the anthill that you step on when going after or going toe to toe fighting someone? Lmao!!! Only reason why Godzilla attacked people or even Kong.....was because if him being beyond confused of who the true threat really was when Rin who was Serizawa's son I believe, was taking control of the brain of one of the heads of King Ghidorah. I think the son was taking his revenge on Godzilla after his dad sacrificed his life to bring Godzilla back to defeat King Ghidorah. But was good to see Kong give a good fight and even after going down... he still roared back showing that he was never gonna be a pushover regardless of Godzilla being the king and even saving and fighting with Godzilla to take down the threat of Mecha G. Which who also would've been a threat to mankind as well as the world... especially considering that Mecha went rogue period. So even though Godzilla went crazy after not knowing what the true threat was in Godzilla vs Kong as well as doing damage from Godzilla period from moving from point A to point B...this all still proves that Godzilla is a true hero. He doesn't come out at all nor bothers anything at all until he senses a threat and has to come out of the water to fight! Like I said...it's like running over legos just to fight your opponent lol!! So again... yes Godzilla really is the King and a true hero as well!

I think he literally just wants to assert dominance over other Kaiju and humanity benefits from it. The reason he doesn’t just attack people is because he doesn’t look at us as a real threat. I’ve always looked at Godzilla as just a reluctant hero
I like the new look of Godzilla ... total Badass ;)
He attacks those who challenge his power he brings balance to the world
I grew up watching the Godzilla movies from Toho and have always believed his actions to be benevolent and still do today
He is an unyielding force who’s actions will inevitably bring about the apocalypse. The nuclear bomb personified, a god of destruction. Mutually assured destruction means nobody wins, but in his world, he wins. He always wins.
I will be taking a day off for this
Godzilla is not the hero Japan wants. But he’s the hero it needs.
The fact is, he’s not a bad guy. He’s not a good guy. He is the king of the monsters. He can do whatever he want
If Godzilla was an AD&D character, he'd be a chaotic neutral.
