Iam's smile gives us the feeling that he enjoys singing for us, no matter what he is singing. He has this relaxed feeling about him, not forcing it out to reach that high note or trying to belt it out to show us his volume. He sings so naturally that we didn't know he messed up.
Some people will probably critique him for not singing faster songs or staying within his lane, but if you look at artists like Ed Sheeran and Alanis Morisette they have a lane that they sing in too. You wouldn't ask them to suddenly rap to prove a point. People wouldn't buy their music because they like rap music, nor would they ask those who sing Country music to change their lane either. Just like you wouldn't ask rappers to sing a song to cover a singer. Everything that Iam has done so far has shown that he can adapt and make it his own. That is HIS lane.

The way Iam handled himself in this performance (as well as his other ones) is so professional that it’s easy to forget he’s only 18. Because he’s such a good storyteller, he doesn’t have to resort to fancy vocal tricks. Some may see that as boring, but I see it as a breath of fresh air.

I will never understand why the judges ,except Lionel points out Iams mistakes!!! Really like??? As a viewer watching I didn't know he messed up besides ,if he did ,doesn't matter even the artist who mentored him ,who's song it was didn't even mention ,oh you messed up my song ,why does this have to be an issue with any of the contestants, but you Mr Luke ,you seem to make it clear on iam..this young man is healing a country in ways nobody will ever know!!and I thank him for his honesty his heart!!

This is an incredible song written by Alanis Morissette to her son. Iam Tongi reverse it be a son to mom song what a genius. My interpretation that all the hardship of losing dad that he needs to step up to the plate and be the man of the house! To insure Iam is there for his mother through the struggle hardship she has been going through of the passing of her husband and that Iam will be there whatever it takes to be like his dad to take care of Mom no matter what and not to worry Iam will be there for her needs to be her Guardian. Island music is way better than any music. No wonder why island people are caring and loving for each other. They don't care about materials thing or if your music sell and get a millions or not. They sing because they're happy and sharing loving people. There's no one homeless in the island. Because of the feeling they have for each other. They're loving, sharing, caring people. That's what iammm is unique.
I'm sure Iam will be in top three and I hope We Ani is also in top, but I'm not sure who should be the third person. There are a few beautiful voices and good performers.
He has a nice voice but it's nothing special. It's the same every song he does. He's a modern version of Andy Williams.
Personally, I find Colin's voice so much more powerful, creative, daring, soulful and edgy. He can take a country ballad, a pop song, a Southern Rock song and
a 90's Rock song and make each one his own while embracing the fundamental merits of each song.

Luke always point out Iam's mistakes. I'm so proud of this young man for his integrity. 🤗
Luke gives him constructive criticism. Iam Tongi is a sweet individual and seems to have a great moral compass and heart. I don't think, however, he is that talented. I was surprised he made it to the top 12. I really like him, but I don't believe the ultimate talent is there.
😆 and when i hear Luke singing, iammmmm is waaaayyy better. somebody told Luke that's not messed up. All the singers they do that moving their head to the side to stop the soundtrack of their voice. Opera singer, they do that to stop the flow of the sound of their voice. It's a style. Luke, you can't sing 😆 😂 Go Iammmm Iammmmm ianmmmm. God gave you that talent to sing iammmmm.
