Pask Makes Bondi Bond: paskmakes.com/boni-bond/ I've been working out the details of this project for a couple of years. I kept putting it off because I knew it was going to take a while with filming all the steps and I knew there would be a fair gap between uploads. I decided to just get on with it as it's what I really wanted to make. As well as thoroughly enjoying the build I'm super happy with the outcome. Hope you like it too. :) If you're interested you can find my 2nd channel here www.youtube.com/@PaskMade
I can only speak for myself, but projects over numerous uploads is perfectly ok. Even with other projects mixed in. Just make sure you finish the project, I hate seeing a great build only to never see the finished product. Maybe that's because I never finish anything and I know the pain. :)
That was an awesome build and the wait was well worth it!! Re attaching the vice to your work bench, when you made the bench I know that you left the narrow sections so that they could be lifted out for clamping parts. If you have another piece of the wider sections of bench, you could permanently attach the vice to it. When you need the vice, you would pull out the "plain section" and place the "vice section" in it's place. This would also mean that you would be able to put the vice anywhere along the length of the bench. If that doesn't make sence, I'll try to work out a better way to explain it 😂
Please keep doing videos in one single part. I'm sure most would agree that we would rather wait for a long video rather than having to wait for more parts! Such a cool vice!
I think I will. I've done a few 2 part videos in the past but I always prefer to finish the video in one. This one had so much work which meant I didn't get a video for a long time but it's probably a one off anyway. :)
Since I prefer TH-cam over TV, my vote is definitely for longer complete-project videos. Now, that's easy for me to say, since I don't have to do the editing. I just want you to know they're appreciated. I've been a fan for many years. Please keep up the good work!

Hello, dear teacher, I saw your clip from Iran, and first I will say that I am a tool lover and I think we are the same age, and then I will say that I was very depressed because I had a stroke, but I enjoyed and became happy after seeing this art show of yours. ❤❤❤❤
Honestly, that looks so professional, I wouldn't believe it was homemade if I hadn't just watched the entire video. I truly admire your skills, you are amazing.
i`ve said it many times before and i'll keep saying it, this is one of the best maker channels on youtube, from the ideas to the execution and video editing, everything is top notch
Holy hell... 😮 That is beautiful! It reminds me of my grandfather, a mechanical engineer who built airplanes in his spare time, and created/ developed some of the very first "Numerically Controlled Mills" after WWII. What we call CNC today. And my great-grandfather, a watchmaker. Both of them, if they "needed a tool," they often just went and fabricated it.
Yep, that was just good old school, when the old boys never complained, and just got on with it- no matter what. Also, in the old days most of the chaps DID make, or invent tools; it was part of the pride of being a genuine tradesman.
Wow! I always think you could never surpass your previous projects, but you prove me wrong EVERY TIME! I just love the attitude of "can't buy it then I will have to make it"
When I saw it I thought to myself "OK that's a lathe shot that I have never seen before, I love it, and it shows some really important stuff that you never actually see from the inside because everyone is busy shooting from the outside. ;)
I really like the longer videos, it may just be me but these things takes time to make, so does watching you make it. It's just how it is and i really like going on the adventure for the full length in one go.
This is easily the 10th time I have watched this. It is so great to know that there are people like myself who can put the effort in to making incredible things. You sir and an inspiration :)
I've never skipped a second in any of your videos, 10 minutes or an hour, doesn't make a difference. They're always enjoyable and never a dull moment. You keep making the videos the way you want, we'll keep watching. You haven't steered us wrong yet. You're delightfully clever, humble and humorous, a true treasure in the Maker's community.
I know I'm not the only one in the comments with this sentiment. Pask, it wouldn't matter if your videos were 2+ hours long. We will still be here watching them all. Your attention to detail is why you should keep it in one video and make it as long as you want. Trust me, we will still watch them.
The end result is fantastic! I really enjoyed watching this come together and I always prefer a single, longer video to multiple parts even though that's worse for you financially!
i fall asleep 3 times trying to finish this (nothing to do with your video its just i had a tiring work day) but i come back to see it till finish. that's gonna be a very useful vice. you should turn this into production if possible. one of the best hour video i watched
I'm almost speechless, what a superb little vice. Thoroughly enjoyed the video Neil and as always, so fascinating to watch. I love the many angles the vice can position in and a really fantastic design indeed. See you on the next one my friend.
Definitely was a long video, but I happened to watch it on a Sunday afternoon with a espresso martini in hand and it was a pleasurable watch Inspiring build, thank you I’m always impressed at the effort you go into making your projects
You have made some pretty amazing things but this is beyond words. Especially for someone with only a couple of years experience on a milling machine and lathe. I am envious of how proud you must feel every time you use it knowing that you designed it and built it to perfection. By far the best vise build I’ve ever seen. Great job, Pask!
I'm always blown away by your ingenuity and you sometimes breeze pass little ways you solve problems. Like at 8:40 when you used the shim to make an interference fit for the drill press. Whether it be wood or metal, your methods are just so awesome.
Shoo Neil you keep finding ways to outdo yourself. It's truly remarkable. Not only was this build absolutely brilliant but as usual your videos are entertainment of the highest order for me. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea but it's right up my alley. I am very glad you released it as a single video and I did not even realise it was so long. In fact I felt slightly disappointed that it was all over. You truly are a master of many crafts. Woodworking, metalworking, designing, videography and editing. You are by far my favourite TH-cam channel and when your notification pops I drop everything I'm doing to watch it.
I am a Blender 3D artist with a fascination for machines and robots. When I look at work like this I can almost imagine you building one of my "inventions" in real life! You are a true craftsman!
This is an extraordinary piece of work. Fantastic. Always so informative, useful and entertaining. I also find your presentation very relaxing. Many thanks.
Everytime you upload a video I say "oof, it's too long, I'll watch it in parts" then I go I watch it straight from start to finish ha ha. It amazes me your abillity to do everything you want to do, I wish I could do the same one day.
For someone who has never watched anything like this before, I'm awestruck at the content, delivery, quality and craftsmanship involved. Subscribed as soon as the video concluded. Great evening's entertainment. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I don't mind the long format videos. Especially when they come out on the weekend. It's a great way to start a Saturday. Amazing vice! Your work is inspiring!
I really enjoyed that, even given it's length. It was good seeing you work through the various issues to end up with something I'm sure you're proud to put in the workshop and use frequently!
Just brilliant and top notch workmanship as usual. I prefer the video in one episode. Just a tip when boring, I was taught not to go up in drill sizes in small graduations as it puts a lot of stress and heat on the outer tips of the cutting edges. Better to go up in larger steps, say 7mm pilot hole then jump up to a drill size where the web at the tip is just smaller than the pilot dimension, maybe 12 or 14mm and as the hole gets bigger reduce the size of the steps a little so after 12mm you might go 18 or 20mm. When I’m boring 25mm I will use 3 steps or 4 at a maximum. As the size goes up, the speed comes down. I hope this helps. Cheers, Stuart. Canberra.
Great build. And thank you for making it one video… much prefer a long single one. Heck we can always watch it in multiple parts! Your editing is also superb.
It looks AMAZING!! One of your beat videos to date, glad you uploaded it as one and didn't split it up. I thoroughly enjoyed this, well done sir 👏🏻 👍🏻 😀
I am in awe of your skills. Whether timber, concrete, or metal (of all kinds, sheet metal included) you turn out incredible builds. You are THE most versatile & competent maker I have ever seen.
Very well done! Your filming was amazing. The vise looked giant! It is always cool when you give it a go and work through problems! A casting video would be awesome!
Having it done in one video is the best ! Also a fantastic job on a true custom Vice , it looks like it’s worth hundreds of dollars, I would be very proud of this job , truly a craftsman!
Here's a suggestion for a tool to make: a Swiss army knife. Maybe not like the biggest ones, but sounds to me like it would have a few nice challenges along the way !
You should be so dang proud of yourself, Neil! This is such an amazing achievement to say you made this from scratch. I'm flat out in love with it's design, paint colour and charm. I feel like you could sell this gorgeous item for $15,000+. But I totally understand not selling it, it's too precious!
I"m just absolutely floored at how amazing this vise is, and that you made it completely from scratch. No words to express, but gushing admiration still.
This project and video is a gem! Nice work on engineering a vice you wanted, and couldn’t locate! My father made tools he needed. Making tools is the mark of a true craftsman!
I love Pask makes, but TH-cam is making watching these videos pretty painful. 30 second ads every 2,5 minutes and the subtitles always disappear with ads, so you have to restart TH-cam again to get them back. 😢 Awesome project, Neil, I wish I could have enjoyed it more.
@@thrashmetaldaveOnly had two as well and could be skipped. As far as making two short videos instead of one long video, forget it. By the time the second one came out people would have forgotten the contents of the first.
Thank you, Neil. I've watched a whole heap of your videos over the years and loved every one. This video though: the welding glove to keep chips off the hands - absolute gold. How did I not think of that? The vise itself is a work of art. Loved the one-piece video - I too don't like multipart videos as much. Brilliant brain you've got on you! 👍Thanks
Neil, yet another masterpiece! A truly functional and gorgeous finish! I adore your videos no matter the frequency so keep making what you want the way you want and I will be there to watch each and every one of them!
This video was such a treat, especially with more and more people giving in to the short format and impatience of young viewers. I love the longer format, especially because there was no padding in this one, it was jam packed with creative action :)
Just WOW! It amazes me to watch you create. I would definitely buy that vise if it were available! Keep making videos the way you do. Multi part videos are okay, but I prefer one solid video over the sectioned out ones. Thank you, and keep making!
This is a piece of art. I love it. If I had´nt seen it myself I would not believe it was handmade from scratch. I thought it would be nice looking without the paint until I saw how good it came out. Very impressive!
I could hear the feeling of accomplished pride in your voice at the end, and it was certainly warranted. You are a true craftsman and I appreciate you sharing it with us.
Hey Neil, this was certainly an ambitious project and a joy to watch. The result is outstanding... really nice work! I like that it was all in on video too.
I am always floored by the sheer breadth of your skills. So many people would be so happy to come anywhere near the level of aesthetics OR the level of functionality of your work, whereas your work has both in spades. As always, thank you so much for sharing.
Amazing work, as always. Not just on the vise, but the video- especially the fancy camera shots. If I were to make this, I'd be afraid to use it, it just looks so good. One long vid is best I think. Thanks Pask!
I’m obsessed with that final colour. Fantastic video as usual mate. Don’t worry about the video length, timing, or anything like that. Just do what you feel is natural or required. We love everything you do and your methodology.
I’ve never been interested in metal work. And I just spent an hour watching this video, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m astonished at the skill shown, and what is possible. Thank you!
Spectacular video and a beautiful looking and functioning vise. Despite being almost an hour long, it flew buy, I could have watched a build twice as long. I'm a vise collector, and you've created a really beautiful vise!
Awesome project! I can see where a vice such as this would be a great addition to a shop. Keep the long format. They are well worth the wait, and watch 👍
That was awesome. Great job. The vice looks great! A tradesman who makes his own tools is a true master of the tools. Well done! I also have no problems with longer, single part videos.
I'll never make one and I'll never have the machinery and tools -- or ability -- to make one, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Thanks for sharing it.
First off: that is a piece of art, very nicely done! I like the single video format, even if it's 90 minutes 👍 Keep 'em coming! I always enjoy your videos, as they are often on different subjects/materials. Cheers from Sweden.
Absolute ripper of a job, Neil 👍 really well made! Even though it was one of your longest videos, I still found myself wanting more!! 😆 keep doing what you're doing, and I look forward to the next one 👍
Absolutely amazing work, Neil! It looks just superb, you'll enjoy working with it for sure. Never knew I needed one of these, but now I think I need one too 😄😄 I love the complete build in one video, you are an awesome videographer and editor!
I really like your videos. There are few channels that I watch without speeding up the video, and yours is one of them. I like seeing every detail and listening to every word you say. Your videos are all very instructive, and this is another instructive video that makes us want to put into practice the machines and instruments we want, even if they are not available for sale.
You had me at "Second Channel" ;) Mate I think that is easily your best piece of metal fabrication so far and the long video was the perfect form to do it justice. Well done, even for you 😊😊
Nice job. You are a talented machinist and artist. I've never seen camera work better than this. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit, and share. Excellent work!
What a craftsmen! It took me about all day get through this video, but I LOVED that I could look forward to more of your video between my busy schedule. Whether you do them in one, or 17, I will watch! Keep on keeping on!

We are beyond amazed at your design and fabrication. Your editing skills are thoroughly fabulous, too. We like long videos!
Neil, yet another masterpiece! A truly functional and gorgeous finish! I adore your videos no matter the frequency so keep making what you want the way you want and I will be there to watch each and every one of them!
Wow. Just wow. I'm speachless. Turned out beautifully and it's definately very handy little tool. Chapeau bas Mr. Pask.
Brilliant design and workmanship Neil! Love the long video. We can always choose to watch it in two parts or the whole length.
Best Super Glue commercial evah! 😉 I am constantly in awe at your patience when it comes to the filing work. I would never get past that. Well Done!
Long videos are great, details are great and machining is right up my alley!!!!
Hey Neil, this was certainly an ambitious project and a joy to watch. The result is outstanding... really nice work! I like that it was all in on video too.
Thank you for sharing, this turned out great! And thank you for keeping in one video.
Thank you!
Keep doing what you’re doing, been following your progress for a few years now ,it’s an absolute joy.
Spectacular video and a beautiful looking and functioning vise. Despite being almost an hour long, it flew buy, I could have watched a build twice as long. I'm a vise collector, and you've created a really beautiful vise!
A thing of beauty (again). Well done. The long video is great and much better than several separate ones. Thank you.
One of your vids of this length is a thoroughly enjoyable, very easy to watch! Love your attention to the finer details. I’m in awe!
When I saw this vise on Instagram a few days ago i had no idea you made every part from scratch. So impressive. Super nice. Great result!
Awesome project! I can see where a vice such as this would be a great addition to a shop. Keep the long format. They are well worth the wait, and watch 👍
A work of art. I as a viewer I like the long form video. I can chop it up if I have to. Thanks again for your craftsmanship.
Never knew I needed one of these, but now I think I need one too 😄😄
I love the complete build in one video, you are an awesome videographer and editor!
Your work is always incredible! This one is awesome! Please keep your videos in one part, they're never too long.
I really like your videos. There are few channels that I watch without speeding up the video, and yours is one of them. I like seeing every detail and listening to every word you say.
Your videos are all very instructive, and this is another instructive video that makes us want to put into practice the machines and instruments we want, even if they are not available for sale.
I haven't ever commented before but the elegant design and features were really impressively engineered. Makes me want a lathe now! Great job!
Absolutely amazing!! The long video was also fantastic, not having to wait for a second installment feel much better, at least to me!
You had me at "Second Channel" ;) Mate I think that is easily your best piece of metal fabrication so far and the long video was the perfect form to do it justice. Well done, even for you 😊😊
Thanks James - glad you liked it mate! :)
Nice job. You are a talented machinist and artist. I've never seen camera work better than this. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit, and share. Excellent work!
Beautiful vice! Watching you engineer, machine and build it start to finish in one video is preferable. Thanks.
The dedication and craftsmanship that went into fabricating this absolutely glorious little vise from scratch was an absolute pleasure to watch.
What a craftsmen! It took me about all day get through this video, but I LOVED that I could look forward to more of your video between my busy schedule. Whether you do them in one, or 17, I will watch! Keep on keeping on!
