I talk way more than my husband and we have different interests but overall it is like we are the same person: homebodies, values, goals. It took me 13 years to find him (only 3 dates before him), but so worth it!

I'm not married but this is definitely a very wonderful and eye-opening conversation. I certainly wish I would have known this wisdom in my previous relationship. My ex and I never hardly saw eye-to-eye on just about anything and he would always complain and I would always feel like something was wrong with me. We were just incompatible on many levels but God is still good! After much prayer, I began to realize that there's nothing wrong with me, but that we were both two completely different individuals as far hobbies, goals, and aspirations.

Good for you. There are many many times I wish I was single. Me and my husband are totally different from one another and have nothing in common. If we were to divorce I would never ever ever get married again.
@Crystal Hicks - I'm the same way! I've never had a serious boyfriend and don't feel like I miss out. I've always, even as a little girl, known that God has a much bigger mission for me than the usual marriage and kids. Yes, I get lonely sometimes but I learned to talk to God through my loneliness, after all He is the ONLY one who will actually understand.

Wow, I've been married for 35yrs, we met as Christians, but boy, with all the differences, it is so hard not to get frustrated after so many years. As I've grown so much as a Christian, he has just stagnated. For years, I had to put my passion for studying God's Word aside as it just seemed to make him look bad, the church I was in was male dominating and legalistic, though I just thought it was a strong church, but it squashed my passion for learning and made me out to be rebellious for wanting to know more. So I put my books aside, and tried to be the "good little housewife and mother", but it didn't make my marriage better, my husband didn't rise up, like they said he would if I let go... I see now, that it was the wrong advise, God had made me a certain way and to quench the zeal and passion that God had given me, wasn't what God wanted at all. After nearly 30yrs in that church, it nearly destroyed our marriage, not made it better. As women, we need to not be ashamed of who God has made us to be and don't change because a pastor or husband tells you to, we change only to be more like Jesus and come into submission to him, that way, we will be the best versions of ourselves and not live in bitterness towards those who have held us back and towards ourselves for listening to them. We are now both seeing counsellors, I have before, but my husband never would. We had never been allowed to see anyone other than the uneducated pastors that our church had. What damage that did to us as individuals, as a couple and to our grown kids who don't see marriage as a good thing or church. How foolish we were, we nearly lost everything that was important, what we should have been good stewards of, instead of obedience to a man... I look back now, with the hurt that it caused and we are now trying to swim to shore after nearly drowning.
Hi Gabrielle, how is your relationship with God and your husband now? I am having a difficulty adapting to a new church/ religion that my husband recently joined. It has changed him alot. I am also a Christian but I am not comfortable with his church's strict and dominating ways. =(

God does bless us with a perfect mate and that was really tested for us in the last 2 and a half years
I was diagnosed with breast cancer and he was the best caregiver and nurse
A sickness can either tear you apartor you grow together
Thankfully I have had a miracle from heaven and I am well .I was stage 3 with lymphoma cancer and I am 100 percent so we both are so thankful for God's healing

You could pray for his spiritual and emotional health- Once he’s on fire for Jesus, he will be able to let at least some of it go! He may have emotional wounds or traumas that are affecting him! Only God can change these things! I prayed for a decade for my husband and what God is doing is amazing!
The bottom line is real isn't how you are made. That's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time. Not just to play with, then you become real.
