Awesome Kit Down! Update on my dog after bladder cancer surgery. Today, 10 days post-op he got his staples removed. They said his incision is looking great! He is doing so well!!! My mental health is struggling a bit right now. Anxiety is high because we have some work that needs to be done on the house and it's going to cost over $2000. But is has to be done so not much we can change now. I'm just using diamond painting and your videos to help me cope with the anxiety. I'm currently working on a painting that says "Dogs Welcome People Tolerated" that I'm going to hang right inside the door. It'll be hung right where I have a certificate I made with my older dogs paw print when we bought our house saying he owns it and a sign a friend gave us that says "it's the dogs house we just pay the mortgage". So it will fit right in.
I was on a car ride with my daughter when she was about 5 years old and we were playing rock, scissors, paper. After a few minutes of playing, my daughter (she is a Rebecca, too) put up both hands about 6 inches apart and yelled out "hotel!". Kids are so funny.
I have a long history of long car trips, as a child and an adult. When a child, my family would drive from Texas to Arizona to visit family. We left in the evening and drove overnight. It was cooler to drive though the desert at nighttime. Maybe my dad thought we’d sleep in the back seat … and eventually we did. But it was fun hanging over the front seat (it was the 70’s, we didn’t wear seat belts 😮) and watching the snakes and armadillos along the road. We also had books and car bingo cards for entertainment. Great memories! I used to think, “when I grow up I’m going to marry a man that knows how to read maps and drive from pt A to pt B.” well, I’m older now and can read my own maps! 😂

Hi Rebecca! My family doesn’t really go on road trips a lot but when I was younger my mom would bring a colouring book for my siblings and I. I was really quite in the car to the point where my grandma would ask if I was alive so you can say that I put dead in dead silence. Sometimes my nickname can found on licence plates and my family would joke about that being my car. In the version I play in Eye spy we use colours and not letters. Another great kitting down!
Hi Rebecca, you just read a comment from someone that said they didn’t like squares. I started with rounds, primarily because my first kit was a diamond Dotz round, and my first DAC was a round. But, that was 2022. Now, in 2024, if I have the option for a kit in round vs squares, I mostly choose squares - the reason is fluffy stuff doesn’t get stuck to the canvas between the squares. I also prefer the fit of squares. My rounds often look like a drunkard laid them 😂
Hi, Rebecca! My heart broke for you a little bit when you inadvertently poured the wrong color diamonds in a bag. I feel your pain, as I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. I was dekitting a finished project and kitting up a custom which required me using my own diamonds. Thinking I was saving time by checking diamonds from the finished DP and pulling needed diamonds for the custom, I was quite proud of myself for being so efficient. Then it hit me... my finished project was in round, and my custom... square. 😢 Thankfully, it was maybe just 5 colors that got mixed. I heard your voice in my head, saying, "Take care of the issue right away before you walk away." I tried, but I was so furious with myself that I just decided to leave it part way through. I now have a few empty extra bottles on hand while I'm DP'ing my custom and as I pour out diamonds into the tray, I pick out any round diamonds I come across. Oh well, what can you do? Sorry for the long post!
Talking about road trips when we were kids, does anyone remember those sweets that we used to travel with? The ones that came in a tin with a screw top lid? Used to have those on car rides down that were 1 hr and a half/2 hours away. In the beginning of the road trip memories we'd have colouring or activity books with snacks and drinks. Then as I got older, I got an iPod with music and started listening to downloaded songs, remember those times where you had to download music to listen to stuff on the go? We used limewire software to do so and I remember waiting hours for one download 😂. Nowadays I have my phone and TH-cam whether that's videos or music to listen to. And sweets obviously 😂.
Your boxes are getting a bit full, aren’t they? I used to be a night owl but since getting older, hubby and I say around 8:00 pm “It’s not too early to go to bed, is it?” 😂 Of course, because we hit the hay so early, I find myself awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night - TH-cam videos to the rescue. I still hate mornings so that means I find myself skipping the first couple of hours after sunrise and now that colder weather is coming, I discover that my blanket holds me hostage in bed until I convince it to let me go. 😂😂
I was in on the advent painting pack until the painting with the paper chart came up. Cross stitch conversions and the like just aren't for me. I tried it, but it was too stressful. I'm leaning toward doing Red Trucks and Labradors from DAC. It's a beautiful image of some black Labrador puppies in the back of an old red pickup with a Christmas tree. It's 65x65 cm, so I'll need to do 25 sections that are 13x13 cm. I want to get it done because I went through a phase where every kit I owned needed to be kitted up for some reason, and I want to get through some of those kits so I can clear up some space.
Hitting pause - for the one that works from 5:30am until 2? I get it. Not my favorite, but I have to work on campus (the job site) which is a 30 min commute each way, if traffic is cooperating. In order to avoid the bad traffic, I wake up at 5am and am out the door ideally by 5:40am. I put in my 8 hours and call it a day. I do this for a full week every other week. Because I can’t think in the early morning, I lay out my clothes, etc, the night before. I can’t be trusted to pick out an outfit so early in the morning.

Regarding the sound quality, please tell the hubby it’s SO much better so he feels good about it 😂 but I never noticed a sound issue prior 😂
