Excellent review, did the same trip 22/11 in business class, BA service and crew members were fantastic. Senior cabin manager took time to walk us round this massive aircraft and being able to view the flight deck was unexpected. Would love to go long haul on one on these one day but for better wing and ground views would need to sit in the rear section of the plane.
thank you! I flew the BA A380 long haul from LAX to LHR a few years back. On that flight the only window seat was the last row - the view is quite nice too from there - not so much wing in the field of view :D If you sit in the middle you will not see anything except wing and sky :D
Very nice! I’m excited to hear that the BA A380 will be coming to my home base airport, Dallas Fort Worth Airport, next March. I look forward to flying it one day
Fun fact: This isn't the first time that British Airways has flown the A380 to Frankfurt. They previously have flown the A380 back in 2013 to conduct training flights before they began long haul routes especially to some US cities. So for some of you who have missed the opportunity to fly on the A380 to Frankfurt in 2013, now may be your chance to do so if you have no plans on traveling further and yet you've still wanted to fly the A380!
As a British person it is nice to see Heathrow getting back to normal and British Airways getting back to flying. I think BA could make more of an effort with the colours in their cabins as it looks a bit dull. The A380 must have the loudest flap sounds out of all commercial aircraft! I do hope that Heathrow and BA end the mask "safety theatre" to create a more normal experience. There's no law requiring them in the UK anymore, and airports like Stansted they now say masks are "strongly recommended". I understand TSA in USA ends their mask mandate on 18th January 2022 unless extended, so hopefully it isn't. I laughed when you said "the weather is kind of sh*t here!"
Hi! Can I ask what you used to mount the go pro to the window? do you have the link to purchase it? also! did you have to ask the crew to attach it to the window?
Hey. Sure, I asked the crew, obviously. Can't just go to First class and mount something. The GoPro was attached using the Gopro sucktion cup mount (there is only one from GoPro, which should be easy to find).
no ;) But there were many interested in the A380 so they came along too. Usually they use an A320/A319 on that route - so 140 PAX is pretty normal i`d say.
