Well it's a good metric to show the skill of a kido user. It's been shown that skipping the incantation essentially trades power for a faster casting speed; the power loss varying depending on the skill of the caster. The the full ability of Bakudo 81 is that it stops any kido under 90 without fail. A Danku cast by a less skilled kido user might fail at blocking a lower spell. Even with a full incantation it won't stop a level 90 or above kido. What surprises Tessai was that Aizen was able to stop a level 88 kido with an incantation-less Bakudo 81. Which means Aizen essentially cast a full, or near full power Danku without incantation.
When Tessai was training Ichigo, I knew he was a badass. Too bad there has not been any character development. I mean, he was the captain of Kido squad and no one was able to replace him after his exile from SS.
Bleach isn’t known for its character development, sadly. Most characters are just one offs until they’re given a backstory. After that they drop off the face of the earth.

Well he's very powerful but he's like Shinji level in pure reiatsu. His use of hado and bakudo makes him a unit in close mid and long range combat and he wouldn't have many weak areas. His weakness though is that his kido isn't invincible amd characters on Urahara's level should be able to brute force their way through his hokus pokus
Aizen's voice is deep and alluring. The way he enunciates most of his words are just amazing. Like the way he calls people like Ichimaru Gin & Urahara Kisuke.
The way none of them even looked back at the blast hurtling towards them at this early point in the series they didn't even see it as a threat around Aizen, thats how strong he was.

And even if Tessai used a 90's level spell, it wouldn't have mattered because Aizen literally tanked a Hado 96 from Yamamoto (one of the strongest characters in the entire series) and it did barely did any damage. And don't forget that Kido scales with the user's spiritual pressure, meaning if Aizen and Tessai used the exact same spell Aizen's woud still be stronger because of his insane power. Sorry, Aizen really is just that good.
Well you are kind of right but remember that he became half hollow so that boosted him A LOT. Also Espada nr 2 was too confident, if he rushed all in there are very few he couldn't beat 1v1.

While Tessai can mess around with reality (time stop+teleportation at the same heckin time = badass) it might not be suitable for battle. Hachii used barriers to use enemy's attack against him so it was great but not a typical solution, to me they are still casters not suited for duels. But I agree he could bring a lot to the plot. Also I consider last arc broken when it comes to power scaling.

thik cha they do. Yoruichi and Soi Fon use Shunko, which is Kido and hakudo combined, and Aizen heavily relies on Kido. The lieutenants also use Kido spells a good amount, and Unohana uses kaido, Bakudo, and Hados frequently in the anime

Tessai was essentially the Yoruichi or Kenpachi of kido and Urahara got more shine with it than him. Imagine if he was actually brought to the fight with the Espada or Sternritter
Tessai should have been the one to lead the defense of Karakura Town after Aizen and Gin showed up there. It would have let everyone know what the wrongfully exiled captain of the kido division could truly do.
Against the Espada he would be a beast, but against the Sternritter not, because quincies can manipulate reiatsu better than anyone, supposedly, and kido is reiatsu based.

If Nanao was able to create a Kido that can momentarily disable a Quincy's power, imagine what Tessai (or Hachigen) could've done.

he used a dirty trick thats the reason why urahara was expelled and nearly sentenced to execution alongside Tessai, Aizen used his kyoka suigetsu complete hypnosis to tamper witnesses an twist the words of them an provide evidence of wrong doing because kisuke arrived at the wrong place at the wrong time and this played right into Aizen's advantage. Yoroichi however wasn't fooled by Aizen's performance an neither was Genryusai but the oldman knew he couldn't risk dividing the delicate balance he worked to maintain so he held his stance firmly but even ukitake and kyoraku knew something was up and suspicious about the whole situation and would have opted to further investigate because it wasn't just Shinji an co that suffered this hollowfication but kaien shiba also fell to it an this was before kisuke even took the mantle of captain. the soul society also would have just let shinji and the others die or become hollows to be executed but kisuke risked his life an position at that moment saying they could be saved and he knew how which sadly just made it look even more guilty of what he was accused of but thats the moment Yoroichi knew kisuke was being truthful so she took action the way she did and rescued him and tessai so they could in turn save the others.
and i should also note that all the captains there at the the time could have stopped them easily especially Genryusai but like i said Ukitake and Kyoraku were also split against the idea an were probably the ones who convinced oldman Yama not to pursue them but to let it be until they had more concrete details to solidify that Urahara was the true mastermind behind the disappearing soul reapers an hollow appearances within seireite and not just that they probably argued that them fighting eachother was probably what the guilty party planned for. so in all likely hood they probably just interrogated all divisions involved under tessai, yoroichi, and kisuke but came up empty handed and had no trail to follow cause Aizen destroyed all traces of the hollow research after this incident. an then later probably just told the others he could've been mistaken but that the fact remained that urahara still made off with the hollowfied captain's an lieutenants therefore still their only prime suspect
Once you see someone at near max power get easily get dispatched then that character officially downgrades as the story progresses. Some are asking why would Tessai not help Yoruichi, Isshin, and Kisuke fight Aizen during the karakura Arc, this is why in this video. If Aizen can block a lvl 88 hado with a lvl 81 barrier without using an incantation then what use would Tessai have been in the Karakura Arc? It's sad really.

So how come Urahara and co. knew about all this stuff with Aizen 100 or so years ago, yet didn't bother to warn Ichigo's group about him at all when they went to the Soul Society to rescue Rukia? Didn't they think that would have been important for those guys to know? Seems like a massive oversight on Urahara and Yoruichi's end. I also find it strange how Yoruichi never once comments on the apparent death of Aizen while she's there (before the reveal). She didn't suspect foul play, or anything? She's never once shown to be concerned with that at all while she's there. The only time she acts against Aizen is after Lieutenant Isane tells everyone about him. It looks like a plothole. Or an example of unbelievable incompetence on the part of Urahara and his associates (because Tessai never says anything either).
Wait they never knew about kyokasuigetsu s compkete hylnosis until aizen himself described it to unohana and I think he and yoruichi were trying to find a way to show aizen to everyone while ichigo and others a distraction

Itachi is a smart genius but Urahara is both smart, experienced and very knowledgeable. Had Itachi had a chance to live very long like Urahara it would be interesting but I don't think the Itachi at the time of his death could compare to Urahara in scheming and predictions etc.

It would be unwise to do so as Aizen might have wiped him out before he got a chance. I also think he felt like he deserved all that happened and was using it as a way to punish himself. Especially what happened to Hiyori. Also at that point they didn't know about Kyoka Suigetsu. So no one would have believed them. Kisuke played the long game. He knew eventually Aizen would reveal his true nature. When that happens he would be more prepared. He also didn't lose the Hogyoku. His headquarters had been raided and quarantined. It would be unwise to go back for it. He had to wait patiently until he found a way to make sure aizen didn't find it
He was already strong from the start remember byakuya using danku ITS only make a small of barrier but look that aizen made that barrier even enough to defend all the explosion from the strongest' Hado 88

While Tessai can mess around with reality (time stop+teleportation at the same heckin time = badass) it might not be suitable for battle. Hachii used barriers to use enemy's attack against him so it was great but not a typical solution, to me they are still casters not suited for duels. But I agree he could bring a lot to the plot. Also I consider last arc broken when it comes to power scaling.

thik cha they do. Yoruichi and Soi Fon use Shunko, which is Kido and hakudo combined, and Aizen heavily relies on Kido. The lieutenants also use Kido spells a good amount, and Unohana uses kaido, Bakudo, and Hados frequently in the anime

Tessai was essentially the Yoruichi or Kenpachi of kido and Urahara got more shine with it than him. Imagine if he was actually brought to the fight with the Espada or Sternritter
Tessai should have been the one to lead the defense of Karakura Town after Aizen and Gin showed up there. It would have let everyone know what the wrongfully exiled captain of the kido division could truly do.
Against the Espada he would be a beast, but against the Sternritter not, because quincies can manipulate reiatsu better than anyone, supposedly, and kido is reiatsu based.

Except none of the Sternritters ever exploited this regardless of whether Kido was fired at them. Not Lille when Kyoraku used Zangerin, and neither Giselle nor Bambietta when Yumichika used Daichi Tenyo. Heck, the Kido was actually used to intercept Bambietta's bombs, which worked. If Nanao was able to create a Kido that can momentarily disable a Quincy's power, imagine what Tessai (or Hachigen) could've done.

Aizen was clever enough to experiment hollowfication on people and put the blame on urahara.
he used a dirty trick thats the reason why urahara was expelled and nearly sentenced to execution alongside Tessai,
Aizen used his kyoka suigetsu complete hypnosis to tamper witnesses an twist the words of them an provide evidence of wrong doing because kisuke arrived at the wrong place at the wrong time and this played right into Aizen's advantage.
Yoroichi however wasn't fooled by Aizen's performance an neither was Genryusai but the oldman knew he couldn't risk dividing the delicate balance he worked to maintain so he held his stance firmly but even ukitake and kyoraku knew something was up and suspicious about the whole situation and would have opted to further investigate because it wasn't just Shinji an co that suffered this hollowfication but kaien shiba also fell to it an this was before kisuke even took the mantle of captain.
the soul society also would have just let shinji and the others die or become hollows to be executed but kisuke risked his life an position at that moment saying they could be saved and he knew how which sadly just made it look even more guilty of what he was accused of but thats the moment Yoroichi knew kisuke was being truthful so she took action the way she did and rescued him and tessai so they could in turn save the others.
and i should also note that all the captains there at the the time could have stopped them easily especially Genryusai but like i said Ukitake and Kyoraku were also split against the idea an were probably the ones who convinced oldman Yama not to pursue them but to let it be until they had more concrete details to solidify that Urahara was the true mastermind behind the disappearing soul reapers an hollow appearances within seireite and not just that they probably argued that them fighting eachother was probably what the guilty party planned for.
so in all likely hood they probably just interrogated all divisions involved under tessai, yoroichi, and kisuke but came up empty handed and had no trail to follow cause Aizen destroyed all traces of the hollow research after this incident. an then later probably just told the others he could've been mistaken but that the fact remained that urahara still made off with the hollowfied captain's an lieutenants therefore still their only prime suspect

Once you see someone at near max power get easily get dispatched then that character officially downgrades as the story progresses. Some are asking why would Tessai not help Yoruichi, Isshin, and Kisuke fight Aizen during the karakura Arc, this is why in this video. If Aizen can block a lvl 88 hado with a lvl 81 barrier without using an incantation then what use would Tessai have been in the Karakura Arc? It's sad really.

So how come Urahara and co. knew about all this stuff with Aizen 100 or so years ago, yet didn't bother to warn Ichigo's group about him at all when they went to the Soul Society to rescue Rukia? Didn't they think that would have been important for those guys to know? Seems like a massive oversight on Urahara and Yoruichi's end. I also find it strange how Yoruichi never once comments on the apparent death of Aizen while she's there (before the reveal). She didn't suspect foul play, or anything? She's never once shown to be concerned with that at all while she's there. The only time she acts against Aizen is after Lieutenant Isane tells everyone about him. It looks like a plothole. Or an example of unbelievable incompetence on the part of Urahara and his associates (because Tessai never says anything either).
Wait they never knew about kyokasuigetsu s compkete hylnosis until aizen himself described it to unohana and I think he and yoruichi were trying to find a way to show aizen to everyone while ichigo and others a distraction
