    Any experience with dashboard warning lights coming on after the lift was installed? I just had my 4" BDS lift and 35" BF Good ATs put on yesterday. My stabilitrac and traction control lights won't turn off now. Also, I'm prompted during ignition that my power steering has diminished. Thanks.

      I don’t have any experience with the BDS lift. I never had any warning lights on my dash.

      George, I have been researching what will be required to install 35 inch tires and a 4 inch lift on my 2020 Colorado ZR2.
      I am interested in what you found caused all of the dashboard warning lights to engage? Do you have any other equipment synchronization issues that you found that need to be addressed when one installs this lift and large tires?

    when ever you life a truck unhook the battery then re hook it so the computer can recalculate because even a level can mess with the calculations

      That's crazy I found this vid. I'm going the exact same route!! The only difference is I'm using the gas springs on my gas 2017 ZR2 w/ the Rough Country leveling spacers, also not doing body lift yet! I just want to clear 33's!! I'm keeping my stock bumper & adding a 28" light bar in it!
      Question for you, By me keeping my stock bumper do you think that's the right call or should I go with the diesel springs for extra lift clearance??

      Also the leveling kit link is to a leveling kit that’s says it doesn’t fit the ZR2

      Yo I got the peak kit and trying to get the drivers side diff to pull in order to line the bolt up with then hole. Where did you put the strap around to pull the diff and did you do it with the wheel off?

    Was alignment ok without adding new upper control arms?

    • @TrailAdventuresTV
      @TrailAdventuresTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely no problems. But you’re going to need to install the diff drop spacers as well. Do not lift your truck this high unless you’re going to install a steel bumper skid plates and winch. You may put too much angle on your CV joints and go through CV boots. I never had that problem because I planned out the build properly. Please refer to my other videos for reference.

  • @bcbsilverhawk8426

    Would like to do this on my ZR2. One observation; the CV angle looks very extreme on the inner joint. Seen at 7:42 when you are discussing the bump stop. Thanks.

    • @TrailAdventuresTV
      @TrailAdventuresTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      BCB SILVER HAWK I wouldn’t call it extreme. Could be the angle in the video. But it is definitely at an angle. Still has plenty of down travel. One advantage to using the BDS lift.

    I have a diesel ZR2. I added a 1" leveling kit at the front. I'm planning on adding an add a leaf at the rear. BTW what brand did you use? Anyway, do you know if I would have to do anything else to fit 35s?

    • @TrailAdventuresTV
      @TrailAdventuresTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Larry. Yes you will definitely have to put in the diesel trophy truck springs in the front and add a leaf in the rear. You’ll also have to put a 1 1/4” inch body lift. Additionally you will have to cut the wheel wells both front and rear. You can get most of the parts you need from peak suspension. And the body lift from rough country.

    • @americannative2717

      @@TrailAdventuresTV. I didn't know there were different diesel springs. Thanks. I might go with 33s and look into 35s later. The stock tires look so small on the truck. lol.

    How’s the squeaking? On several FB Colorado / Canyon forums there is chatter about the Peak Suspension compressed springs squeaking badly.
    Any rattles in the rear with add a leaf???

    • @TrailAdventuresTV
      @TrailAdventuresTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi zamboni68. Thanks for your question. I haven’t experienced any squeaking with the springs. Now I do have some squeaking with my tire carrier. However, that should be cured with an easy adjustment.

    Very well done video, extremely helpful. On my 2019 ZR2 i did the 1.25 inch leveling spacer before I even drove it again, that rake was terrible. I will be inatalling zone 1.5 body lift next. My goal is to mount 305/70~17 or 295/70/17 pretty sure I will go the peek diesel spring 600/650 lb and add a leaf like you if needed for clearance. Does the peek spring allow for retention of the level spacer? Thanks again, very curious if the 2.75 with body&spacer will be sufficient, but I am sure I will find out, George

    Great videos and project truck! GM did a great job with this trim on the Colorado 👍 I'm looking to add a CBI steel bumper and 33" KO2s to a ZR2. No winch planned yet. In your opinion will just the diesel springs be enough to support the bumper and add just a minor amount of lift up front?

    • @TrailAdventuresTV
      @TrailAdventuresTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would not use the diesel springs unless you’re going to have the steel bumper, winch and under body steel skid plates. You will end up going through CV boots. I haven’t had any issues with my CV boots. But once again my Rig has the additional weight to compensate for the heavier diesel springs. In addition if you go with the diesel springs without the additional weight. You will be over sprung and under dampened when it comes to your ride and suspension characteristics. Hope this information helps.

      @@TrailAdventuresTV thanks, all good info. I was surprised to find out the bison has the same springs as non bison ZR2s, so that makes sense with your advice. Just means if I go that route, go big or home! 👍 Thanks again for info, and keep up the great content!

    • @TrailAdventuresTV

    • @TrailAdventuresTV
      @TrailAdventuresTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re going to buy a Colorado ZR2 just keep it in stock. I could go into all the details of what you need to do to lift one of these trucks. Including cutting the fenders and having shocks that don’t quite function as they were engineer. All I can say is that after owning both the Colorado ZR2 and the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. You’re better off with a Gladiator
