      I agree totally I hate using pills for my furr babies they so many times more than not don't do well with them not to mention they also don't like taking them but the side effects are what worry me the most about all that. so it's nice to see a vet on here that gives us more home remedy type video's about this stuff

      Just a thought, if you have a uwash where you take and bath your dog yourself?
      It's sooo, much easier this way because the tubs are high and there is a place to secure them so they don't try to jump out! Should be pretty reasonable too. Bring your own towel because it helps to calm them down once you get back into the car. Our Uwash here, charges $8 for tiny - small dogs $10 for medium $12 for large. I bring my own shampoo and use their water, electricity, and a wonderful organic body spay that smells amazing!
      It's so worth it to me - no fuss and everyone is happy plus my back feels good afterwards 😌 Petco sometimes has a tub you can wash your pup?
      Hope this helps 🙏

      I was warned about this behavior when I first got a dog. And because I was getting a big dog, I did not want this problem. Your baby is too old to do this with now, but when they're puppies you just hold them on their backs and flips them around and inspect them every day to get them used to being handled. It worked very well. My baby lets me handle her.

    Thank you so much Dr. Jones. My old cat has no more urinary tract problems thanks to your natural tips (tiny bit of apple cider vinegar in his water). I thought I was going to lose him but five months later....still no urinary tract problems. I have always been a fan of natural remedies as allopathic medicine is more about making money than real healing and I was overjoyed when I found you!
    You are aligned with what is good and right and you literally make my heart sing with every video. Can you imagine how great the world would be if all docs were more like you?
    Thank you, from my heart, for doing what you do.

    An easier off grid moist heat hot pack is to boil water and wet a towel. Wring the water out. Next fold the towel to fit into a gallon or larger ziploc bag. To use slip the bag into a pillow case and then wrap a dry towel around the bag. Works for our aches and pains and our old dog enjoys it as well. This is a different spin on the hot water bottle.

    I bought a large bag of very cheep rice, I think around 5 pounds at least. I then took an old sheet and made something like a small pillow case to put the rice in and sewed it up. I then used an old fluffy bathrobe and made a removable cover like a pillow case for the rice bag. I heat it up in the microwave to a comfortable temperature for my fur baby of almost 19 years old. I LOVE my sweet furry old man! He loves his personal little bed warmers. I honestly have made around 5 of the heaters in hopes I might get a chance to use one too. Thank you so much Dr Jones. I have gotten so much help from you over the years! You are the Best!!!

    Thank you so much for all of your advice. I plan to purchase my Chloe Michelle a heating pad. She is only 7 months old and you're her ACL. The emergency room initially said it was just a soft tissue injury and out her in crate restriction which her Vet furthered her stay in the crate. I attempted to get her water therapy and they decided to do more extensive X-rays and told me she actually had an ACL/CCL tear and she is awaiting surgery. Chloe Michelle is a Lab and has been on this restriction for just about the months and losing out on valuable life. Sometimes she's walking in three legs and they prescribed gabapentin and remadyl. After seeing your video on the side affects of remadyl I will no longer give her that and also start using the heating pad. She has her surgical consult on the 12th and hopefully surgery very soon afterward so she can get on a healthy road to recovery

I remember seeing you say something in another video about using heat pads and since last year I've been using the smaller Sunbeam heating pad (on medium heat) for my little dog because it doesn't have a shut off timer and he can go lay on it when ever he feels like it. He loves the thing. Now if only I could make a miracle happen and give back his eyesight.

    Thank you for all you do! All the information you impart to make our pets lives improved. Our almost 8 year old rescued Pup arrived with bilateral hip dysplasia, vertebral issues and bilateral patella luxation. She had surgery on one and has done well, actually seemed to stabilize all the other issues, although as she’s aging, we see the hind leg, extremely close, gait. She retreats when uncomfortable. We certainly will try this heat therapy! We’ll keep you posted. I’ve tried ice! Not heat! Thank you again!

    Hi Dr. Jones! Thank you so much for your informative videos.
    I have a senior 55 lb dog with severe arthritis and hypothyroidism.
    If it's not too much trouble, can you please provide some guidance on the following?
    Can any (or all) of these be taken at the SAME time on an empty stomach? Galliprant, levothyroxine, gabapentin, denamarin.
    Right now, I give each one separately (7am Galliprant. 8am levothyroxine. 9am breakfast + gabapentin. 3pm denamarin. 5pm dinner + gabapentin. 8pm levothyroxine)
    If recommended to continue spreading them out on an empty stomach, I will but if it doesn't matter at all if I can combine two or more above, it would make my life so much easier because in addition to the schedule above, I have to physically carry my boy outside 5 times a day to relieve himself as he can no longer use the doggy door on his own.
    Thank you so much ❤❤

    A quick question how do you feel about cnbs and cnds from cannabis for them back in 95 my Dr said that dogs have the same thing in our brain 🧠 and can't be trained for mmj but to hit the car is this true so would they have the same feeling of comfort that people do no THC

    I have a 12 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Rosie who keeps limping on her back left leg. We thought she keeps hurting herself jumping down off the beds, but I'll check for crunchy noises. Frustrating, she won't use a ramp.

      Train her to use doggie stairs. My chihuahua & my Yorkie both use the doggie steps. I trained the Yorkie with treats. I don’t want them jumping down bc could injure knees or spine.

    Dr!! I have a 20 year old cat who just had a Senior wellness appointment and was given medication and RX food (that she won’t eat) for a slightly elevated BUN on her test…. What can I do that less harsh then daily meds that make her nauseous!! She’s a old lady ❤️

    Please make a video about hair balls in cats. Can we prevent cats from throwing up hairballs along with all the nasty liquid that comes up with them. Gross. Thank you. Love you Dr jones

      I used Vasoline on the top of my cat's paw when she got them. Then we switched to a food made specifically for cats who get hair balls.

    • @soozqgirl
      @soozqgirl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sandyruther2936 I've read that vasoline is a petroleum byproduct and not good for cats. Besides you never know when a hair ball is coming so yould have to give them vasoline everyday? Does it help hairballs slide through the intestines? Does it give them diareah?

    • @invincibel4007
      @invincibel4007 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@soozqgirl You can give them coconut oil instead of vasoline. It's good for them and they like it. Mine licks it off my fingers or her dish. Seems safe to give a small amount every day.

    • @soozqgirl
      @soozqgirl ปีที่แล้ว

      So the purpose of giving cats coconut oil everyday is so hairballs slide through the intestines instead of being thrown up? Mine throws one up about once every other week

    • @invincibel4007
      @invincibel4007 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@soozqgirl It should help the hair pass through the intestines rather than forming a plug that needs to be thrown up is my guess. But do your own research.

    I WAS WONDERING if you could direct me in any way related to the following: I adopted a 2 pound chihuahua at week 8, since day 1 his poop has been rather stinky and scoots his but on the floor- we tested him for worms came back negative but treated him with panacur anyway. The vet said he was healthy…no issues. Do you have any idea what could cause this? I feed him Fromm puppy food mixed with Dr. Marty Natures Blend puppy food - half and half. (Both chicken flavors). Thank you in advance, I appreciate what you do. ALSO… I would love to transition to a homemade diet but I am nervous, do you have any resources?

      I'd say, it's pretty normal.
      If your veterinarian says there doesn't seem to be anything wrong, believe him/her.
      Be happy! Enjoy your precious chihuahua puppy and make sure to socialize her/him. I didn't do enough with mine, and now she goes after anything that moves! Ahh the chihuahua, always a great little companion and house alarm!
      PS - it's easy to overfeed a chihuahua, they always act hungry. Don't fall for it!
      Their tummies are tiny and I feed mine 1/4 cup in the morning and another 1/4 in the evening. She loves smashed up black beans mixed with bits of hard-boiled egg. Loves lentils smashed up with cottage cheese.
      Unsweetened organic pumkin puree, mixed in with hard food now and then will certainly help with smelly poops plus any constipation because it's loaded with fiber😏 Hope this helps 🐾

    My highly athletic and active 9yo yellow lab just started "slipping"
    ..ALOT, when playing Frisbee..he has always been a high leaper, getting airborn, pup..I am very concerned..he doesn't appear to be in any pain, and wants to just go, go, go..but he has seriously lost coordination in his hindquarters..almost overnight..this torally has me in tears😥..will this vid also apply to him also❓

    • @adriandillon7761
      @adriandillon7761 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say it probably would. Something's going on if he's losing coordination. You might get an exam or some X-rays to find out for sure exactly what it is. But then, rather than opting for meds or surgery or whatever the vet might recommend, look into Dr Jones videos, books, and other natural options first.
      Of course X-rays are horribly expensive. Another option would be to Google his symptoms. Or, probably best, you could just go through Dr Jones' videos. He has covered a HUGE amount of topics. Good luck to you and your pupper! 🐶❤️😀
