- 'Love Me When I Don't' (written by Kirstie, such a catchy and uplifting song) - 'Be My Eyes' (written by Kirstie, one of the best pop songs of the last 2-3 years + the music video is gorgeous) - 'A Little Space' (written by Kevin, + this is the first song in PTX's history where Kevin sings ALL the verses (his beatboxing is layered). - Side (Mitch's song. He names it one of his personal favorites from the album). - 'Bored' (SO GOOD! + they legally sampled 'B.Y.O.B' by System Of a Down for this song) - 'Exit Signs' (Kirstie's song. She goes OFF in it. + it's a very personal song for her) - 'It's Different Now' (Kirstie's song. + There's a piano and Kevin's cello in that one) - 'The Lucky Ones' (Scott's song. Very personal for him and for the whole band) - 'Midnight in Tokyo' (Scott's song. Fun pop. No instruments, some vocal effects) - 'Easy Love' (An electric guitar is low-key used in that one, and it's one of their best and most underrated songs ever) - "Petals' (Originally written by Scott and Mitch for Superfruit. There's keyboards used in the song) - 'You're Out' (Matt sings the second verse. There's no instruments, Kevin does all the 'trumpet' sounds)
Balancing who you are and who you are on “the internet” is a juggling act all musicians deal with, some better than others, but Mitch cracked that door open just a smidge for us to see the painful side. Vulnerability resonates.
Another of my favorites off of The Lucky Ones! Bored is another of my favorites and should be right up your alley! So happy you did this one! The lyrics are tough especially with the world the way it is and so much emphasis on technology! Around the time this came out Mitch was being cyber-bullied by some people on his accounts and Mitch took down his social media accounts. We all felt these lyrics and felt extremely bad for Mitch. We thought we were going to lose him off of social media. He was very down during COVID, not being able to see much of anyone. This is one of the sweetest and real humans I can think of and crappy people were antagonizing him. It comes with the territory for someone in the spotlight, but it wasn't happening to the others, just him. Since he's my favorite, it made me mad and sad for him. Anyhoo, thank you so very much for reacting to and appreciating these people's talent!
Thank you for your amazing words.. It broke my heart, when this stuff happened to him and as you've said, I was so mad and sad for him too.. I could'nt understand why anyone would do this! He's my fav too 😊
Love this song - thank you for reacting to it. Yes, the message in the lyrics is a sad one, and one that many people can relate to, especially as we are all online more and more. The upbeat music belies the serious nature of the song. I really feel for Mitch with this one, and just wish I could reach out and let him know just how much joy he (and the others) bring to so many people. As for next - Petals....
Their talent is endless. They always take so much pride in the quality of music they produce, a trait that is rarely seen on a constant basis. Their music both stimulates and relaxes the mind continuously. Great song.
The bass line is crazy in this. I think it would be difficult to play on a real bass. The entire album is wonderful. A lot of songs about relationships and how we relate to each other both individually and as a society. I think the lyrics are mostly more from an adult perspective rather than teen perspective.
Yes - the whole album!! ‘Side’ is another Mitch-led one that is excellent, but if you want to go upbeat, ‘Love Me When I Don’t’ is terrific! When you do ‘A Little Space’ (most upbeat break-up song I’ve ever heard) I would suggest the collab version with members of the k-pop band ATEEZ, it is fun. Thank you!
Glad you liked this. It is great, Side is also great with Mitch front and center. It is lyrically a bit on the sad side but it is one of my favorites. A Little Space is a bop. I think you'll dig, Be My Eyes it is a Kirstin written song and she really hits hard on the vocals but Mitch's voice is integral.
Every time I listen to this one (and it's one of my favorites - though that's a rotating spiral that is filled with a wide variety of their songs as I hear them...) but every time, I think about the Superfruit vlog that Mitch and Scott produced for several years. They stopped doing them back in 2018, after producing a truly WONDERFUL video album "Future Friends," and it's been remarked on in a number of comment posts that Mitch said he never wanted to do another vlog, and I think this song is a direct answer as to why that would be so. I understand that everyone who enters the public eye is "on stage" much of the time, but I would imagine that it would really wear on your spirit after a while to not feel free to be honestly just yourself, "warts and all." He "changed himself for the internet" and needed to stop doing that. That said, this is just how it plays through my head when I listen to it and I could be full of beans.
Another awesome original for you to hear is one lead by Mitch (but it’s not from this album). It is called See Through. It is 🔥and has awesome lyrics. You also really need to listen to Mitch do his Your Power cover. He recorded it on his roof during lockdown and did his own musical accompaniment. I know that the list of “must do”s is getting longer and longer…..😁
Thank you for reacting to this! It is a song that definitely does have darker lyrics, if you want one that's even more upbeat Bored is one of my favorites on the album! Petals and Love Me When I Don't are also amazing, this whole album is incredible
I would suggest, Bored, Love Me When I Don't, Midnight in Tokyo, and A Little Space from The Lucky Ones album next, but you really can't go wrong with anything on it; they're all so good.
Hello Salvo G. Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this one. So sorry.....in your introduction you said that you hope it doesn't make you emotional, because it's almost time for bed and you don't feel like crying. Didn't I tell you to bring a box of tissues for this one? PTX is just perfection in everything they do and this one is no exception. This one was for Mitch in every way. You got the message - serious lyrics. Thank you, thank you, thank you for truly appreciating the talent that is Mitch Grassi. He is for sure a once in a generation vocal talent and very skilled in how he works his vocal cords. He is also a great lyricist, song writer and performer. You still have a lot more songs to do from the PTX catalogue so please do keep going (I sent you a long list already) - complete The Lucky Ones Album for sure - then back to some old and newer songs - originals and covers - Christmas music too. When you are ready for more Mitch please do review his solo Mitch work (cover of Billie Eilish's Your Power) and then his EP as Messer.
There's more than just the Billie Eilish cover for Mitch pre-Messer. At the very least, Find You and Graveyard, which were studio recordings. Almost definitely count the live performances of Age and Jorga since they were 2017ish. Then there are the more debatable older ones from highschool that Mitch is said to hate but are still great. Also, READY2DIE, which is Messer but pre-Roses.
Thank you for your reaction to this gem.. This one, side and anchor are my favs, but the whole album is really fantastic, the lyrics are mostly very personal and deep.. and as someone suggested before, please do "Your Power", Mitch's cover of the Billie Eilish song, it's very moving and hauntingly beautiful.. keep going, your reactions are amazing!
Aha official video, then Aha Singapore. Kevin (KO) has his own TH-cam, so does Scott. Anything KO, but his Down cover is most popular. scott has tons of way early stuff. when PTX first got to LA, they got together with many young artists trying to make their way. Scott did many things early with Tory Kelly (now a Grammy winning Gospel singer,) scott and PTx didn't sing with anyone who wasn't awesome. Early, like WAY early PTX. Thrift shop, PTX sings in an airport. anything from their couch series (PTX page- Live Video folder. the Justin Timberlake cover in that has some SICK rapping from Kevin. mitch's newest cover on his channel. anything from Scott's channel is awesome and much is total acoustic without mixing. at the end of the Sing Off they sang a song ( he me w the title guys) they they sort of stunk. their monitors were messed up and they couldn't near each other. so, they recorded it again. in a parking garage. their backstage tour series videos are long, but all have stuff from their ptx experience performances for fans. i cant find the link, but a Make A Wish kid wanted to sing with them. she sang lead w Avi on Light in the Hallway. amazing.
Yes, do the whole album - it is FIRE! When you get to Midnight in Tokyo, make sure you react to the collab version with Little Glee Monster. You'll get a language surprise!
Great watching you jam Salvo. As one commenter said that part you enjoyed so much and replayed was Matt doing incredible bass. Please react to "You're Out" from the Lucky Ones Deluxe. You're great and should have many more subscribers.
Yes, yes to the whole album. Pop music certainly reflects it’s own time, but it’s best when it tackles, in a thoughtful way, serious issues in society. And boy did they nail it this time. The lyric “I changed myself for the Internet” and the cautionary nature of the consequences can ring true for many today. Well done, to them and to you. Peace from Ohio …
Much to my surprise, I was not familiar with this song. I liked it a lot. Missed a video. Loved Mitch having a brief lead where he stayed entirely within his chest voice. That was cool!
As I commented on another of your reactions you MUST check out a couple of Kevins solo's where he cello boxes (playing the cello and beat boxing at the same time)...he is classically trained and also can really play the saxophone too! So check out "Down " a Marion Hill cover and "Renegade" where he is out in the desert by himself!

Well said - I can't imagine what pleasure people get from trying to damage others.

Yes! Petals. Beautiful song.
@@michellebarry1555 , YES, Petals!
Kevin and Matt killed it again and ❤Mitch's voice, what can I say, awesome!!!
Anchor from the deluxe version of this album is my favorite. Mitch is the lead in this one also. Please react to it :)

Good grief the bass and percussion. Loved it!

Side is Mitch written and Mitch lead but it is sad. The upside is that Kevin and matt said when they wrote it with Mitch they were a laughing.

@@perfectkismet Thanks for this, I will add these to my weekend list. Mitch high school recording recommendation - Kiss the Air.
Anchor is my favorite.
You know you might like Mitch’s solo music. So I would recommend “Machine” by Messer (aka Mitch).

I find Mitch's lyrics to be pensive, which is a perfect counter balance to Scott's lyrics which are usually very optimistic.
I love this song another great one from PTX. Please react to "Be my eyes" Kirstie takes the lead on this song. Thank you!

Definitely here for the whole album but especially Bored
Look at your comments from happy now. I demanded you do this one lol

Matt and Mitch - can't miss go for the whole album, why not?
I suggest Easy Love from the deluxe album. Such a groove!
You should check out “I Should Tell Ya Mama On You” by Scott. Absolutely amazing!!
Thanks 😊
That was a great song. This is one album by them I don't have. I need to remedy that. Thanks for the great reactionp
The lyrics in this song are definitely deep, pretty true for most of the album.
I love this song so much! 😭
Have you done Happy Now and Lucky Ones? 'Bored' is also a fun one. Actually, you could pick any of them and it would be great.
He just did Happy Now, yesterday I believe.
@@michellebarry1555 Thank you.
Have you done, New rules/Are you that somebody? great all round but specially Kevin and Matt
Such a fantastic album!! I’ve worn it out!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Matt is bass guitar. I know you heard it bc of your face when he came in. I think you just got the beatboxing and bass mixed up

Commentary on dark aspects of entertainment industry...a good song and warning for those looking for superficial validation?
I love Pentatonix but this one isn't a favorite for me .
