I think she probably also felt overwhelmed by trying on a not-gonna-happen dress that was *fun* but maybe not what she really wanted, and then having Lori drop the bomb about the price being within her budget....that definitely creates a lot of pressure to buy a dress that she was just trying on for fun.
i'm surprised that telling her it's OOAK didn't cinch the deal, if she waits someone else could buy it and then it doesn't matter what she comes to terms with, that dress is GONE FOREVER. i'd have been like "well i wasn't planning on blowing my entire budget but i love it, i love how it looks with the veil, and i literally have one shot, bag it up lori!"

You can definitely afford a dress. There's plenty of places (like David's Bridal and websites like The Last Minute Bride, Sunday's Bridal, Azazie, Cocomelody, Etsy and even Amazon) to buy affordable dresses. The dresses on Say Yes are above a lot of people's budgets.
She wanted that dress when it was not affordable to her, she didn't feel the pressure of buying it. But then when Lori knocked the price down it became realistic and she felt the pressure.
I don't think she was just playing dress up, I just think she wanted to think about it and be sure before spend 2k out of her own money on something she would only wear once instead of it being an impulse buy.
Yep. When I was shopping for my dress I found a beautiful one that was priced at 1950.00 before taxes.. I had the money put away and had been saving, so that wasn't the issue, But once you factor in alterations, veil, gown accessories, shoes, etc. It adds up quickly. I did find another gown that was a little over a 1000, but even after everything is said and done--the price for my stuff alone with hair and make up will be close to 1600 by the time our wedding comes around. So I can see why she maybe was hesitant to drop that money on it.

Well, yes and no. Playing dress up is funny too, if you know it's over your budget. Did it once: with my sis we entered a store full of super nice dresses, and we tried one each. We knew we would never buy the dresses. Was just something we felt like doing. We did basically run away from the store afterwards as if we did something wrong though XD And I still buy dresses which are usually around 20 euros and which I love.
Her family picking out dresses that they know are too expensive is so unfair. Falling in love with a dress, feeling like it is your wedding dress, and then hearing it’s too expensive for you to have is heartbreaking.

This was the most confusing episode to me by far. Confusing #1: that giant flower on her front was SO distracting. I couldn't stop looking at the flower. Confusing #2: how is a fit and flare something that someone can wear generations from now? You would have to have pretty much the same body type down to the same size and length thighs.
I feel like her wearing the dress with the GIANT flower would inspire the musician to play HERE COMES THE FLOWER. It just overpowers her and over shadows her in the worst way.
Lori was absolutely right. She just did not want to quit playing and dressing up. Kind of strange on her part especially after Lori dropped the price $2,000.

All I can say is wow. Lauri has made it where she can afford it. She talked about how she love the dress of the southern elements about the dress and then Lauri says it’s in your price range now and she doesn’t say yes to the dress, she said, she absolutely loves in her entire family to this is the one she wanted. Oh my Lord, and maybe Lauri is right she wants to keep on shopping. It’s kind of sad really think about it and then I can understand in a way it’s like OK I’m crazy now lol and I hope she finds the address of our dreams. I really do and congratulations to them.

This was the most confusing episode to me by far. Confusing #1: that giant flower on her front was SO distracting. I couldn't stop looking at the flower. Confusing #2: how is a fit and flare something that someone can wear generations from now? You would have to have pretty much the same body type down to the same size and length thighs.

They could have found the exact same dress without the organza flower on the front and... wait for it... wait for it.... ADDED an organza flower to the front of it! Seriously would have almost certainly been a much cheaper dress and it would have cost very little for such a (let’s be honest) simple alteration -whether done in-house or at by an outside seamstress. SERIOUSLY.
I've seen a I think vera wang belt with a smaller but similar flower design that would be more proportional.
