Most of the tracks around Michigan, Ohio, Indiana don't allow anti-freeze because of the polution problem if you detonate a motor on the track. Racers from the area of the Love Canal probably don't worry about little things like that. Around here,the EPA made all of the tracks that ran oiled clay tracks remove and properly dispose of all that polluted material way back in the mid 80's.

Why the tapered plate ? Seems it would keep the rear bowl lower on fuel & lag on restarts...

It's alot of work. I used to help out a driver for a alot yrs and u need to prepare now to be gd for next year. It's the maintenance part that sucks to do constantly

Get a kiddie pool for the water/antifreeze.saves alot of the mess
A mortar mixing pan might fit between the stand easier.
Probably already been mentioned already in the comments but please keep Tigger away from that anti-freeze if it is in fact glycol based anti freeze although it looks like it is only water with water wetter in it.

You two are great to watch, i know exactly what you are doing i have been doing this as long as your dad, would love to meet him sometime we both would have a lot of crazy stories to tell legal and illegal cheating or not all depends on how you read the rules. After all the years that i have been building cars and all the championships i have gotten as a NASCAR modified short track series Crew Chief and 40 year i thought i was going to get to retire and get my kids threw collage. My last kid went to the University of Missouri for 8 year and became a doctor he came to me after i retired from racing decides that now he has the money so he wanted to try racing a modified so he sucked me back in. So we build one for him that summer and when we got it done there was only two races left and i made him start at the back both times, and get this he has never drove a manual trans and the first time he did was when he rolled out for hot laps. Now he started 17th for the 20 lap feature and he finished 9th so not bad for the first time ever driving a race car and the next week he finished 6th so we were really happy with the way it went. It took him 14 races to win his first few races, so i think our family's have lot in command and all of your videos you put out there has really helped him to see how family's can work together and have a great time making all these memories, so please keep them going you don't know how much you all really do have a impact on a lot of people in the racing community so, Thank You very much. Just a little back round on our family, way back in the 40's my grandfather raced midgets and then my dad drove one and the guys that helped my dad and some of my cousins all grew up with the Weld family and my dad just happened to be with Jerry Weld drinking after work and when they were leaving the bar Jerry was killed walking across the street to his car, not good night. We all ran around with the Welds, and i worked for Greg Weld for a while during the 80's when he bought I-70 Speedway so like i said we could spend a week telling stories and still would not cover half the stuff we did. Thanks again for what you do.

Mandee: After having an unforeseen "helper" accident in my shop, it is now mandatory here to wear protective footwear for all those working / around cars... even if they just help with a push. I' m not being "Mr. Poopy pants" by any means. Foot protection is important at all times in a shop, and when in the pits at the track. :)
