For single player I would like to see an option for either having ladder rune words or not before starting your character. I personally would love having ladder rw in single player, that way I can play the game here and there and always keep adding to my own character. Ladder/multiplayer is a different element to interact with other players. It can be frustrating when you sit down to play Diablo 2 after a little break and you have to start all over on ladder just because you want to be able to use an Insight on a merc and a Spirit sword/shield
The Plugy mod for d2 let you use ladder only runewords offline; It also had diablo clone and uber tristram offline as well. Would be cool if there were options for this in D2 Resurrected.
I liked very much the amount of darkness i saw, i think it fits the theme of the game perfectly. It would be awesome to have a slider for darkness, those who don't like it could use the slider to tone it down a bit or even totally, having options is always the best way to go in video games.
I agree to this. With how dark it was I instantly knew I was going to be upset as a hardcore player. As you want as much safety as possible as someone who plays hardcore mode. I will be playing with original graphics if they don't make a slider or change it from what it is. Far too dark for my liking.
Agreed I loved it! Just let us toggle brightness like in any game, and leave it the way it is imo. I'd turn brightness up a pinch personally, but I liked what I saw
@Lo Fell Nobody is confusing nothing. Not being able to see outside of your light radius is awesome as a feature, it makes the game so much better and it gives actual meaning to light radius. For those that don't like it, an option to reduce darkness is the best way to go.
I hate 'darkness' as a mechanic. If the only way you can challenge players is some form of interface screw, then your game sucks. Too many games do this. Mount and Blade does the same thing with their shitty-ass fog mechanic and shitty ass night mechanic.
A Grail tab would be an amazing addition. Doesn’t even need to hold the items, just registers them once they’ve been placed into your stash and they light up as collected forever.
There is a chance that they will be fixed if the community says so. I hope :D I don't care if it gets fixed as long as the game is optimized and running well on a high end pc and not like reforged I'm down for everything
Hey MrLlamaSC, I think you're a good representation of the whole Diablo community, and seeing you so happy and passionate during the presentation of D2 resurrected and the round table was really great. Thank you for that!
About game darkness ... I also heard many people would like to have the game dark because darkness had symbolized Diablo games. The original D2 has gamma and contrast knobs and contrast adjustment involves 2D graphics. It'll be a great idea to have in-game darkness adjustment where it controls the HDR effect in the options menu replacing 'contrast' adjustment.
The game needs a darkness adjustment otherwise I will be playing on original graphics over the new graphics simply cause of something as dumb as darkness. I play hardcore.. And to feel less safe and at a disadvantage for me is a massive turn off.
darkness.. i think that can show up differently depending on the hardware a player has too.. so an adjustment option would be helpful for those reasons.
I think almost everyone who plays singleplayer in D2 plays with PlugY, I hope Blizzard uses this information for the stash tabs and adds ladder runewords to it, it's not like it would be broken since it's singleplayer anyway and it doesn't matter
It’s not about being broken. They just want Multiplayer to be more appealing/interesting so they get players. Not like we live in 1998 with ISDN Internet or no connection at all.
Agree, who would be so cruel to them selves they play D2 SP without plugY? And if this is the way the game is played by almost anyone, then make it the default way in D2R.
My question is about having more characters some of us who played more seriously needed more than 1 account for main characters not just mules. I want to know if this is still possible or if each one would require a new purchase. I feel this is very important for people looking to dive back deep into the game.
You watch the panel where they had 3 blizzard dudes that have been there for 15-20 years and the guy from VV? They seemed like assholes to me. The VV guy was the only one being professional and courteous. Seemed a little bit like rejecting the new guy because he wasn't an old Blizzard employee...
the two biggest things i would really want was the shared stash and ladder items, rune words on single players. so far 1 for 2. i really hope they do ladder on single.
Biggest disappointment to hear that Ladder runewords won't be in singleplayer. I really hope they reconsider this with enough of us protesting. Since they are going this route to butcher SP, why not also exclude all of the endgame uniques that SHOULD be ladder only, but strangely exists in singleplayer? It makes no sense at all.
@@kevinp665 What the hell does that even mean? Are you really telling me how i'm supposed to enjoy my game? Piss off dude, singleplayer is a supported gamemode, which a majority of the community plays. Learn to respect that people have different preferences when it comes to games and how to play them.
@Yussop op Nah dude. I don't like ladders. I play for holy grail and collecting items. Online has a max limit of characters you can create, which means severely limited storage for my purpose. Offline has no limit on mules, which you'll need for storing 600+ items.
I’m surprised nobody has talked about being able to add /players. One thing I always hated on Bnet was not being able to farm LK on players 8, or other areas on players 3 ect. Farming by yourself on players 1 is awful
@@atolon123 No, I don’t think you can. That’s what I’m saying, that’s a change I would love to see. Old Bnet was tough to farm runes on your own because of P1, they should make it to where you can change if your in a private game or something
@@yesudiddie i think thats a form of cheating at the point. ide rather they leave that open for modders rather then implement that with a online charcter or make sure that character cant interact with other ladder characters
@@ethdsththwethr7220 I’m not really sure how that’s cheating. It’s in single player on regular D2 and plugy. It’s just a really nice feature to have implemented online so you aren’t farming for weeks for a high rune.
@@yesudiddie yeah it is cheating online and it isnt on singleplayerr. even if everyone has it its damn well easy to abuse and cheat, we do not need another D3 that makes everything easier, because... I would rather not have that in my online games keep it in SP for people to abuse not in ladder
I don’t get them being so reluctant to add loot-filters and gem stacking but are completely OK with shared stashes, controller support and auto gold pickup. Keep to QOL coming guys. Having runes stack or having a charm inventory vs changing uniques and bosses are completely different things. It’s the latter that should be avoided. Like 3-4 more QOL additions and the game is basically perfect. Pu-lese, VV.
They should probably just do ladder rune words in single player, I’d be down with that. If they do future content... they should actually be in contact with Brevik because he had a second expansion in mind so surely he had some idea of additional content and we trust his judgement.
I dunno if i trust his judgement. He said himself in Rhykker interview that he hasnt been much of an artist for many years. Hes strictly a business man now. And hearing his input on Blizzard as a whole, he seems to generally respect the direction the company has gone in. I wouldnt be so sure about David. That was a long time ago
@@phillystevesteak6982 strictly a business man? He’s been designing his own games down to the music. It Lurks Below? It’s all on his Twitter.
Playing PLUGY on single player gave me a reason to continue to play through with diablo clone, ubers and holy grail which i really hope they bring to SP on diablo 2 resurrected.
They should just get rid of the Andariel Bug and make it the default. They should also rebalance the skills and make more builds viable, but make it a new version and allow players to play on the original version as well. That way, everyone is happy. Purists can play their original D2 with only updated graphics and QoL changes and I can perhaps make a Volcano and Armageddon druid or a spearzon or an inferno sorceress or a proper poison necro or a werebear druid etc.
I agree, but the first release needs to be pretty vanilla. Make the changes once the game is working and servers are solid etc. Save bigger changes for later patches. That's my opinion though.
@@chris5240 Well I disagree, entirely because first release is the most important part in a games life. That is the moment where you get a huge influx of players and it is much easier to retain those than to gain new players afterwards. So doing as much as possible at release is important. I even first thought of how amazing this D2 remastered was, but then I realized that I have experienced most of what D2 offered and now I am not quite sure If this game would really hold me. The novelty of graphics will surely pass and be overtaken by the gameplay. And the gameplay, I have already experienced. Now if they were to come and mix up that gameplay, open new possibilities that weren't there before, I would go out and try them all myself. And trying means making that character from the ground up, which is the main content of diablo 2. So to retain people, they at least have to show precedent of such changes(light rebalancing) and promise more to come at launch. The server issues can all be sorted out in the Alpha or Beta. I understand that you do not want to live through the famous first day server fuckups of blizzard and I don't want it either, but I think that is setting the bar too low.
@@oguzcanoguz5977 I agree with both of you. The game needs skill ballancing right away, but if they do that at the start they will get "death threats" by the community, they want the gameplay to be as similar to the vanilla as possible. They already stated they aren't doing ballance for now, that's shitty to me, but it is what it is, they are open to ballance A BIT after release if the community asks for it.
@Hi I haven’t bought a Blizzard game since WotLK. I definitely won’t be preordering. I’ll probably buy it on Switch because that is my platform of choose these days but I’ll wait for reviews first.
So, with the widescreen problem, it seems like it would make sense to have a “first strike rule” wherein if you attack a creature, they, and the creatures around them aggro to you.
@@i_am_ergo 6:56. They haven't fixed them yet but they can't be working as intended right? Their area of effect damage remains after all visuals have left the screen and they do giant damage per frame. If that's working as intended then they should intend something else.
The decision with the stash is an extremely easy one - provide options when you start a character. E.g. When you start a character you pick from 3 options. 1) no shared stash. 2) shared stash with some sort of fixed size / fixed number of tabs on this character. 3) shared stash of practically unlimited size (like that of Plugy) on this character. That way those who want the challenge of having to choose what to keep sparingly can do so, but those who don't want to be forced into chucking away really rare items have the option of having room for everything. It's that simple.
I really hope people playing Alpha will be on their backs about this. For us who just play holy grail on SP it is a must, also a high cap on the sheared stash or just let that be an optional thing. If you want tiny you can go tiny, if you want the plugY limitless style you can do that.
Ladder rune words for singleplayer is a must! Just like Diablo clone and Uber Tristram. They could make Diablo clone something similiar to Uber tristram. They could give hell Diablo a rare drop that you can use to activate him spawning once. Just like you need to farm the keys to do Uber Tristram once.
The lack of a large stash with shared tabs in classic is disappointing. I was looking forward to playing classic with some nice quality of life updates.
Honestly if enough classic players let them know this during testing, I'm sure they would change it. Just seems like right now they want to really keep Classic as Classic
@@MrLlamaSC So, if you start with upgraded graphics with the expanded stash and have items in places that don't exist in the classic view, what happens to those items if you toggle back to classic graphics? Do they move or disappear?
Just wanted to say that I love the darkness of the new game over the old from the trailers and gameplay footage I've seen. Maybe something that could be changed in an accessibility setting? If they do brighten it, I hope they don't do it too much. Looks so badass so far. Great job with the questions and can't wait to see more. Super stoked you are involved first-hand in their discussions with this game. Would pre-order, but still feeling the burn of WC3R. I have high hopes though. Glad to be going to Hell with you fine folks!
If they don't add a darkness adjustment I will be playing with the new graphics turned off which is super lame. I play hardcore and I won't play at a disadvantage which can lead me to losing a character just because of too much darkness.
They're only updating the original OST, not changing it. They'll get the source files, and hopefully they have the raw WAV files in which case they can simply use them directly, as opposed to the highly compressed D2 version we know.
>No ladder rune words on single This is a big deal breaker for me but that's ok because if you don't need to be online to play single player plugy will be made so it's just a waiting game.
Exactly, i think this is important. They give you the tools to change your single player experience if that's what you prefer, but I still like the incentive for players who don't want to mod, to come online and play ladder. If they really do a good job of tackling duping and botting, the game is going to need a solid player base for a good economy!
@@iRavenTM Fair enough I'm not suggesting they take away options from others all I'm saying is if people want the classic experience/purist mode that's cool with me. I would rather play with a large stash single player ladder runewords/multiple tabs so i can do the holy grail of collecting items corrupting/stack able mats/shift click items in quality of life updates etc. Yes plugy spoiled me but honestly a lot of what plugy offers PD2 path of diablo etc offer a lot of good life changes i think at least should be added into a game mode not forced on players. I don't expect any of that to be added but if it were me i would have given it all in one simple option/toggle off and on what you want.
@@tinfin7965 They will have mod support, so it's highly likely the mods and features from them you love, will be made available in a similar manner in D2R!
Sorry for spamming your comments, but as for the UltraWide support, I think a good middle ground might be allowing an open inventory/cube to cover the black bars. That way you are still using that screen real estate without needing to aggro/render everything. Might make it slightly easier though for UltraWide players to SHIFT-click their potions.
I disagree. From what I seen it was harder to spot enemies in the remastered visuals. If that's the case because I play hardcore I'll want to play with the original graphics which is dumb to have to do in order to feel safer. If they don't change how dark it is I simply won't be playing in 3D...
I just wanted to know if the D/A/E bug has finally been fixed. That one has annoyed me for over a decade now.... Was also curious if you can still play it offline though, and if ladder-only rune words would still be a thing if mods like RWM aren't allowed. Thanks for getting in there and sharing, Llama.
@@franciscodetonne4797 I agree with that about d4 but everything I've seen about D2R and how's it's just an upscaled version with the original version running underneath idk how they can mess it up as long as they don't change any game balance.
I feel like if they're already on-board with having a way bigger character stash and then also giving the players shared stash tabs, then they might as well include gem + rune stacking. I mean, what's the difference there, really?
PlugY provides "infinite" stash tabs. Considering that collecting items is a HUGE part of the game a limited stash will be a major DOWNGRADE. Guess we will have to wait and see how many final stash tabs we get.
@@MichaelPohoreski I'm all for having more stash space. What I was saying is that I don't get why the devs are not including gem + rune stacking in the game, but then give us way more stash space (with multiple shared stash tabs)? Imo they could give us gem + rune stacking then, as well.
My questions are all about multiplayer: 1. will there be a lobby like the original game with avatars, chat, player inspect, notes, etc.? 2. named games? 3. passworded games? 4. helper games? 5. searchable public games list? 6. full fledged in-game chat with advanced features? What chat features are we getting? 7. guilds? 8. timed runs like mrllamasc does? 9. observer support where you can watch others play? 10. what new advancements in social will be added?
Firstly, I am excited about a remaster of the game, and I like what I see so far. A few things that I have noticed and that I hope the devs take in to consideration. 1) Rune drop rates: Granted I haven't played D2 for quite a few years now, since 1.13x patch anyway, but I recall the rune drop rate especially for high runes were abysmal. Something like 1 in 2 billion chance of a Zod rune dropping. I believe this drop rate played a big part in the item duping, and it somewhat ruined the economy of the game. Now it seems like they plan to shorten seasons to 3 months, and assuming that is a reduction from what it is currently, in is also a reduction in the time ladder player has to find high runes and complete the high level runewords such as BoTD, Enigma, CoH etc. Two ways to adress this is either make ladder rw available on standard or Sp, or increase the drop rates for high runes to compensate for shorter seasons. 2) Stash and character cap: I haven't seen mentioned anything about character creation cap. I remember there used to be an upper limit of 12 or 14 character. I wonder if that is still the case. Since server space is now hundredfold of what it was in 2000, they could increase the character cap. Also, I assume that each caracter will keep their private stash as well as the addition of a shared stash?
nr2 is very serious because in D2 you can create an unlimited amount of characters even in the battle.net. But in the new network system you can't create multiple accounts (without buying the game multiple times...). So I would hate to see a low cap like in D3. 20 chars should be the minimum, 50 should be fine for everyone.
This is also somthing I have been wondering! Why has Microsoft and Sony not capitalized on giving consoles mouse and keyboard capabilities. Honestly would never buy a gaming PC again, but aside from that you could truly give console gamers the PC experience without having to own a PC....Me personally I have been playing blizzards video games since I was 14 years old, I am an old man now but I love my console exclusives lol Imagine also being able to market RTS games to console players with a mouse and keyboard support .... cash cow! I hope we one day see it! What makes me truly optimistic is that Dev teams clearly see the want for cross-progression right so they KNOW PC gamers want to be able to use controllers, maybe the heads at Microsoft and Sony will see it on the other side as well, many console gamers want that support to go both ways especially in first person shooters. I beleive it has got to be coming eventually.
One thing I’d like to see added to this game is the inclusion of the ladder rune word items to 1 player and open b . net characters. Not only would that make the experience more inclusive, it would add some depth to the rune word system only experienced by people that use the pluggy mod or have ladder characters.
@@miquelcortega If monsters aren't agro'd from that distance, it might become too easy to target them from afar and if they do get agro'd that might kill a lot of players very fast by monsters that are off screen above and below you. It might just be a very bad idea. It also makes it harder in PvP if you don't have a bigger screen, so that might just make it unnecessarily unfair, but I don't think they care about that.
I have some main things I want to see. 1# I want to see the game have a endless dungeon concept and something to crawl with allies. #2 Certain skill buffs and some skill needs. Some skills are clearly never ever used. 3# This one isn't a must but having a dueling arena with rules set. Thats pretty much it as mains for me.
And the Shared stash in Single player going to be insane! Finally that Sigons you found on your Sorc can be worn by your Barbarian. I'm so excited for the shared stash tabs. It's gonna completely change the way I play Single Player. It's gonna feel like I'm building an arsenal.
Only problem is that if they address the bugs, and maybe even balance changes. They open Pandora's Box when/if new bugs pop up, and OP skills etc. All of sudden VV studios now has a live game on their hands that they have to continue to support etc.
@@SitKid721 Can't really see the tiddies in the original, its so small and low-res. These days if you have all that on blast in full 3D you'll probably get an AO rating
I'd really like them to add ladder runewords to single player, or at least offer an option for the player in character creation. Off and on players will really appreciate it.
There is a question I would have asked that is trivial for most players but significant in the end product. Will they fix the bug where casting cloak of shadows while fighting the ancients crashes the game ?
If you get the chance one idea I had to suggest to the devs for those controllers that support it is having the option to use motion controls to aim spells like teleport or have the option to bind motion controls to individual abilities like that. That seems to be a realistic way to handle this and have more options than a pre set distance
Oh I don't know if this is bothering anyone else but they should have a option to put the skill icons where they are normally. I keep looking where I'm used to to see skills and it irks me
A question I have is how the increased FOV affects things like teleport or skill ranges? If I have an ultra wide monitor can I teleport a huge distance?
This announcement couldn't have come at a better time. I just bought a Switch...... I can grind for loot no matter where I am!!!! Curious as to which classes feel better on controller. Diablo IV is looking good for different reasons too!
What I want to know and I'm sure necro mains do too is if iron golems will still cross over to new games and if they will fix the bug of it being lost sometimes randomly without it dying.
They will have hotkeys to quick move items from window to window, but I'm curious what would you say to a compromise of sorts. For example, you can stack gems and runes but limit it to maybe 10 per slot?
if where is no other QOL changes other than "shared" stash and stats summary - then just for the graphics I do not think that hype will last for more than a month.
Bro everything you were talking about I was literally just about finishing your sentences. Please God fix the nightmare Fire/Lightning enchant nightmare bug. I get some people find it fun, but I really like playing hardcore, and its not fun to have to lose all your melee characters because of an unfair glitch.
@@HappyHubris I think they reduced the damage but its still very high in nightmare. I don't think Fire Enchanted by itself is unfair, but when its combined with Lightning Enchanted the Fire Enchanted damage procs each time they release bolts and I believe its multiplied by the number of bolts released. So for example, if a fire enchanted monster will corpse explode on death for 4% of their health on nightmare, thats fine. But if its lightning enchanted as well, it does 4% of their health each time they are put into hit recovery (even if you dodge the bolts) and the damage is multiplied by the number of bolts released (I believe). And its further doubled if the Fire&Lightning enchanted monster is a scarab. Oh and the explosions are invisible. So lowering the corpse explosion damage from 6% to 4% only really helps with the fire enchanted monsters, not the dual enchanted ones as the problem is with the multipliers not the percent damage. Nightmare maggot lair is especially troublesome as you turn a corner and get unlucky with a scarab boss group you don't realize is fire enchanted, unleash any sort of AoE and instantly die, even with 75% fire resistance.
With the agro range v monitor size issue, why couldn't they just implement a fog of war system so you'll see the landscape outside of agro range but not the mobs. I know it's kinda changing it from the original a bit, but surely that's the simplest mechanism to address this problem, you don't have to change any other thing with the game.
One of the most important parts of the old games like D2 was that the majority of people will never see the full content or in this case all of the items possible. It is very hard and personal achievements mean something.
@@NavidErde No, it's not an important part, it's your experience. It's an old concept in times that the developers couldn't change that much. That's why we call it now "quality of life".

Thankfully, by the way it sounds anyway... Modding should be more accessible to players. So with basic mechanics already in the game like shared stash and tabs. It should just be a matter of making a mod to change a few numbers making more tabs, larger stash grid, and enabling online runewords. I'd imagine it could be done fairly easily depending on how nice the modding tools are.
@Yussop op I play single or with friends on TCP/IP because I don't tolerate rushing the game, on battlenet 90% or more people play rushing so you are kind of obligated to do it as well. I want to play the game as it was intended, map by map, I hate rushing. Not even gonna talk about bots

And at the moment, only act2 mercs have that in form of auras.

I'd like to know if there are going to be any balance changes? making Holy Fire more viable and not just a worse version of Holy Shock would be interesting.
Honestly: Darkness seems perfect Crossplay would be amazing, imo Ladder only runewords should be in SP I also hope that if they do make additional content or rebalance some skills to make more builds viable (which I'd like, especially the skill rebalance), there'll always be an option to go back to just basic D2: Remastered.
I disagree with the darkness. It's a massive turnoff as someone who plays hardcore. If enemies are harder to see than with original graphics I will be turning the new groabics off so I am not at a disadvantage.
@@SuperZakaru Are you a speedrunner? I also play hardcore, but would love the additional challenge tbh. I always find that D2 gets too easy too quickly, so increased darkness would be a way to make it harder without changing the game too much. It would be a disadvantage for speedrunners tho.

I hope they do make mana burn into a more reasonable mechanic. The sorc really seems designed to use mana shield with vita and energy both giving 2 hp/mp per point invested. It would make the blood mana curse that succubi use into an actual impactful mechanic at times as well.
I very much hope that they are keeping Matt Uelmen's score? For me, that was (is, since I still play) just as integral to the experience as any gameplay element in both Diablo and Diablo II. I heard that music in the background during the Deep Dive video, so my assumption would be that they are keeping it, but I was just looking for confirmation.
If they want new players to enjoy playing the game I believe gem and rune stacking would be a wise thing to implement. Especially when were talking of adding controller support. Saying that is changing the game is a huuuge stretch imo. It would be super convenient instead of having to create a character or 2 dedicated to craft materials. Although the shared stash does help remedy it..I think allowing stacking, even in bunches of 10 would be a good design decision for a remaster of an old arpg
Spending time agonizing over what to ditch out of your stash is a core part of un-modded D2. 90% of the stash space consumed ends up being Gems and Runes, if you're doing solo-self-found without ATMA, and letting them stack would be a massive change to this. It's not a stretch.
@@ph0end Youre talking about an extremely small % of players who would find this change to be bad. D2 is 20 years old..There isnt a modern RPG around that doesnt stack basic crafting items anymore. The shared stash in D2R will certainly help to remedy craft mats..And while ultimately I will play this remaster regardless of whether they implement the change. I cant help but point out that these "new players" theyre looking to acquire arent going to understand how it isnt a feature. "Agonizing" as you put it, over stash space because there is a lack of it isnt a desired game feature..It's just outdated design. if were talking Inventory space then thats completely different however, given the use of charms. Youre making a conscious decision to sacrifice convenience for power. Having to pick up flawless gems and each take up a slot though?? It's just not realistic to argue keeping that in the game imo. But to each their own.
@@Tpike777 You mention outdated design in the same breath as admitting the game is 20 years old, and this is a remaster, not a sequel. The 'small %' of players you're referring to are those who have played since release, whose continued enjoyment of the game has helped it remain popular after all this time. To suggest that gem/rune stacking would only be a QOL change ignores the ladder ecosystem post-reset, and what I suspect would be an effect on the economy as whole. It is a fair point that you make, but it's one I disagree with.
Ladder only runewords should be allowed in single player, enough with that. Everyone uses them through mods anyway. Also single player saves should be transferable
Instead of stacking gems, runes, etc, they could allow to select many items at once and drop them or drag them to the stash. Just as when you hold shift and select many files on your computer.
"Don't you have a phone?" lmao :'D Heh, just asked some of these things in your previous video that you said the devs will monitor. 1) Diablo Clone still tied to soj sales is bad. That probably also means it's impossible for Singleplayer/Offline Play? 1.5) I hope they DO change their mind on Ladder RWs for Singleplayer, this NEEDS to happen. EVERYONE wants that. 2) No local play? Did I get you right there, there is no TCP/IP hosting games with Singleplayer characters? That SUCKS, if the case. I often played custom mini mods with friends, does that mean it's no longer possible? 3) Oh, Cow King is a good question. I hope they make it so you can kill it multiple times. It's really annoying that you cannot do that 4) Any word on /players 8?
23:30 do you have more details on that? Does this mean, today's closed battle.net characters will still be playable with "old D2 LoD", but not with D2Resurrected? Any chance, there will be a "download option" to play them on singleplayer D2Resurrected?
I am pretty sure you will not get a character converter. If they use the same technology for online and offline characters, the character files are gonna be encrypted which means no hero editors no converting of old characters.
I think this is a good thing. The devs should focus on getting the fundamentals right before working on transferring save files. In any case, the old saves can still be played on the old game and most of the fun comes from creating and building new players anyway. With certain achievements it may make the save files have different parameters (shared stash too etc.), which may make them incompatible.
Likewise. Would also love the option to turn on having ladder-only events like Diablo clone or Uber Tristram for SP chars.
I agree with you both
The Plugy mod for d2 let you use ladder only runewords offline; It also had diablo clone and uber tristram offline as well.
Agree! Also, the colors/contrast in the trailers/release look like trash... waaay too grayed out
Agreed I loved it!

@@TheSummoner the devs said the game will be overall darker/have more contrast
Amazing you got this gig, I was super pleasantly surprised to see you talking to them! GG
I think almost everyone who plays singleplayer in D2 plays with PlugY,
I hope Blizzard uses this information for the stash tabs and adds ladder runewords to it,
it's not like it would be broken since it's singleplayer anyway and it doesn't matter
It’s not about being broken. They just want Multiplayer to be more appealing/interesting so they get players. Not like we live in 1998 with ISDN Internet or no connection at all.
If it doesn't have at least all of plugy's features I won't even bother...

Biggest disappointment to hear that Ladder runewords won't be in singleplayer. I really hope they reconsider this with enough of us protesting. I don’t get them being so reluctant to add loot-filters and gem stacking but are completely OK with shared stashes, controller support and auto gold pickup. Keep to QOL coming guys. Being able to kill the cow king infinitely would be a huge bonus. I loved just sitting in cow runs all day! MOO, MOO MOO MOO MOO!!!!!! xD
THIS
I agree, but the first release needs to be pretty vanilla.
Will the merc change look depending on the gear they use? I would like that change
Damage calculation for inferno (sorc and assassin trap) and artic blast on LOD is 1/3 of listed damage. Hopefully they fix this bug / glitch

I hope they will keep music menu from LOD in resurrected
They're only updating the original OST, not changing it. They'll get the source files, and hopefully they have the raw WAV files in which case they can simply use them directly, as opposed to the highly compressed D2 version we know.

This is a big deal breaker for me but that's ok because if you don't need to be online to play single player plugy will be made so it's just a waiting game.
i didn't think you could have ladder rune words on single player anyway, they were ladder only
Exactly, i think this is important. They give you the tools to change your single player experience if that's what you prefer, but I still like the incentive for players who don't want to mod, to come online and play ladder. Love you lhama! Thanks for helping on this d2 remaster ! 😎👍
3 months is too little.
nr2 is very serious because in D2 you can create an unlimited amount of characters even in the battle.net. But in the new network system you can't create multiple accounts (without buying the game multiple times...). So I would hate to see a low cap like in D3. 20 chars should be the minimum, 50 should be fine for everyone.
Will you be able to use mouse and keyboard on console?
@@Brickbuilder87 they already have for callofduty and a few others
hoping they add mouse and keyboard support, my concern is diablo 3 didn't have it.
One thing I’d like to see added to this game is the inclusion of the ladder rune word items to 1 player and open b . net characters. Not only would that make the experience more inclusive, it would add some depth to the rune word system only experienced by people that use the pluggy mod or have ladder characters.
They should just make a nice big minimap and chat to put on the sides for ultrawide monitors.
They allready upgraded from 4:3 to 16:9 so why not upgrade to 21:9 too.

1#
I want to see the game have a endless dungeon concept and something to crawl with allies.
#2

If you get the chance one idea I had to suggest to the devs for those controllers that support it is having the option to use motion controls to aim spells like teleport or have the option to bind motion controls to individual abilities like that. That seems to be a realistic way to handle this and have more options than a pre set distance
They need to bring back the piercing arrow with the tracking arrow on the amazon.
Guided arrow + pierce was cool but kinda broken
That was fixed in the original or at least in LoD. I would play it though if it is still on.

A question I have is how the increased FOV affects things like teleport or skill ranges? If I have an ultra wide monitor can I teleport a huge distance?
There is no increase in FOV atm. Ultra wide monitors right now not supported, probably gonna have black bars.

I think they would try and fix this based on the mantra that they want to remove unfair bugs that hamper the player.

gem stacking seems like a no-brainer QOL change. how much of my life really needs to be spent trading 40 pgems?
They will have hotkeys to quick move items from window to window, but I'm curious what would you say to a compromise of sorts. For example, you can stack gems and runes but limit it to maybe 10 per slot?
if where is no other QOL changes other than "shared" stash and stats summary - then just for the graphics I do not think that hype will last for more than a month.
haha so ur one of those that trade 40 pgems for pul
I could live without item stacking if we get larger stashes
I don't need gem stacking or a bigger stash. I only want my favorite game to be remastered in 3d

okay, sounds good! thanks for keeping us updated, Alex!
Please God fix the nightmare Fire/Lightning enchant nightmare bug. I get some people find it fun, but I really like playing hardcore, and its not fun to have to lose all your melee characters because of an unfair glitch.
I thought FE bug was fixed in one of the vanilla patches (1.13?).
Ahh that's rough. I don't remember encountering this issue, but I tend to max resists first.

There are some runewords that you would never finish in one ladder, even tho you want to keep playing online
I agree, especially if they shorten the seasons like they said
One of the most important parts of the old games like D2 was that the majority of people will never see the full content or in this case all of the items possible. It is very hard and personal achievements mean something.
@@NavidErde No, it's not an important part, it's your experience. It's an old concept in times that the developers couldn't change that much. That's why we call it now "quality of life".
@@paulo8301 I'm fine with your oppinion but this is an old game and it should be handed like that. There're not a lot of "quality of life" lately in real life, so I'm happy to work for some small achievements in life or in a videogame. If you got tortured most of the time a win feel even sweeter ;). If just one or two player per session get a ZOD rune these 2 are very happy guys. Hopefully they're no bots...
@@NavidErde I'm not young anymore, I have to keep it casual for a lot of reasons xD. I'd like to get a breath of the dying playing in my time.
i haven't heard any mention about how the game lobbies were back in the day on the old b.net. You could see other player's characters and sort of what the armours looked like and weapons. The feel of the game lobbies was part of the diablo 2 experience for me.. Wonder if Blizz will try to re-create that?... on another thought.. what about the command line commands?.. can i squelch?... lol
No ladder rune words in SP is a deal breaker for me....will have to wait for pluggy resurrected
@@doomsday5286 still need the infinite stash
@Yussop op Holy grail is more fun
@Yussop op I play single or with friends on TCP/IP because I don't tolerate rushing the game, on battlenet 90% or more people play rushing so you are kind of obligated to do it as well. I want to play the game as it was intended, map by map, I hate rushing. Not even gonna talk about bots
@Yussop op Holy Grail is something like treasure hunt, collecting sets and uniques i believe (plugy is perfect for that)
Will be there servers for people who play in south américa (argentina, chile, Brazil) are the southerns one. Playing on bnet with 200ms doesnt seems apealing to me. Will we get SA servers or no?
I would like to see some changes to balance the mercs. 99.9999999% of all players use act 2 mercs....
agreed!
Ya, a2 merc or bust right now
This is an important part in the D2 experience. So you can play without Mercs in MP and you're fine. Don't change something if it not broken!
@@NavidErde I'm not saying act2 mercs are broken. I'm saying the rest are weak. Rogue is only used sometimes because Faith exists. Iron wolves have zero usage. Barbs are only used sometimes because Lawbringer exists.
I want a buff. For example, give iron wolves static field, enchant, lower resist. Mercs are used for their support value. And at the moment, only act2 mercs have that in form of auras.
I began playing Diablo 2 again, 2 or 3 days prior to the news about resurrected being released. So excited.
it isn't hard, single player should be like plugy with unlimited shared tabs

I'd like to know if there are going to be any balance changes? making Holy Fire more viable and not just a worse version of Holy Shock would be interesting.
Honestly:
Darkness seems perfect
Crossplay would be amazing, imo
Ladder only runewords should be in SP
I also hope that if they do make additional content or rebalance some skills to make more builds viable (which I'd like, especially the skill rebalance), there'll always be an option to go back to just basic D2: Remastered.
I agree.
@@justaguy3310 no I'm not a speed runner. But I'm a massive sweaty, try hard, min max everything and play efficiently as possible every millisecond I can type of person. . So even the slightest disadvantage is like a said s turn off to me. I plan to be within the first 10 level 99s on hardcore.
i agree with the op. hoping for additional content!!
I hope they do make mana burn into a more reasonable mechanic. The sorc really seems designed to use mana shield with vita and energy both giving 2 hp/mp per point invested. It would make the blood mana curse that succubi use into an actual impactful mechanic at times as well.
I hope if they fix "unfair to player" bugs like softening Mana Drain, there should be a path 1.15 for the OG game before Resurrected is released.
Single player Sorc speed runs in 4K omg 😳.. Let’s Go❣️
If they want new players to enjoy playing the game I believe gem and rune stacking would be a wise thing to implement.
Just as when you hold shift and select many files on your computer.
i think selecting multiple items at once could have unforeseen bugs
We NEED Ladder runewords in Single Player.

Heh, just asked some of these things in your previous video that you said the devs will monitor.
It's really annoying that you cannot do that
4) Any word on /players 8?
about #3, you can kill Cow King multiple times in Project Diablo 2
2). Local play seems like it is supported. Check the official Q&A for source.

23:30 do you have more details on that? Does this mean, today's closed battle.net characters will still be playable with "old D2 LoD", but not with D2Resurrected? Any chance, there will be a "download option" to play them on singleplayer D2Resurrected?
Good day my friend, MrLlamaSC of the Horadrim..

Llama is actually a goat
I am pretty sure you will not get a character converter. If they use the same technology for online and offline characters, the character files are gonna be encrypted which means no hero editors no converting of old characters.
I think this is a good thing. The devs should focus on getting the fundamentals right before working on transferring save files. In any case, the old saves can still be played on the old game and most of the fun comes from creating and building new players anyway. With certain achievements it may make the save files have different parameters (shared stash too etc.), which may make them incompatible.
i just came to "shared stash"
