Kevin, thanks for the video. I'm really looking forward to Frames for Figma. I'm a one person "shop" right now and I welcome all of the help I can get to come up with great designs & not have to do repetitive development in my page builder (currently Bricks). You scared me at the beginning of the video when you were discussing F4F, it was only until the end when I exhaled and realized F4F hasn't dropped yet. Thanks for the video. Great content!
Literally been telling my students too about the same things. I use to design in Fireworks and then Sketch and then XD and now Figma. One of the key things i hear people say is "what's the point of doing it twice" and every-time i hear it, it breaks my soul a little bit. It seems cumbersome, but you can tell websites that were actually designed before hand than those that were designed in a page builder. Design tools allow you to be creative and doesn't limit you , but you're often restricted when building directly in the page builder.
Ok, I want to publicly admit that I have I re-created all frames designs in figma to use them internally with my team, since the day Frames came out. I don’t use token though. But I feel I was stealing lol 😅 I will buy it when Kevin launch it anyway because I want to support. Also tokens functionality sounds great.
Exactly what I was saying in the Inner Circle so thanks for doing this Kevin! Spot on with my points I made on there! I’m design first 100% and trained, but learning Bricks and ACSS/frames for me creates a hugely more efficient and profitable designer as if they’re naive to those tools they have narrow vision in the designs. It’s the classic architect vs builder scenario.
As always, Your explanation of this process to someone with just basic skills like myself, is very eye-opening. Question - I get Adobe XD as part of the Adobe Suite. Are there any objections to using XD for design, and will you eventually make frames available to the XD platform?
@@Gearyco Thanks for that quick, short, and painfully simple answer, Kevin. Figma will become part of my journey, which would have been rudderless without your generous lessons.
Always tons of information. I wish Kevin could dial down his F R A N T I C energy. 20 minutes in, and I need a damn walk just to de-crisis-mode my brain. Holy smokes Kevin, please consider dialing down the urgent, high-pitched mania.
Hey Kevin, I'm starting a new project this week and hiring a designer (for the first time)... any chance Frames Figma will be released this week? Also, do most designers know how to use a token system and how will it work sharing access to Frames Figma with my designer? Would most designers be ecstatic to use a wireframing tool like this? Thanks.
@@philipplunch8526 Frames for Figma will have a library of layouts that are an identical match to what's available in Bricks. ACSS Tokens is a library of globally controllable presets that powers the laouts library, just like ACSS powers the library in Bricks. It's like a framework for Figma.
Current native application of tokens (variables) inside Figma has limitations. It is certainly a step in the right direction but Figma Studio plugin (free version) is still ahead in many ways. Once we’ll be able to achieve the same level of functionality natively in Figma, it is only a logical step to ditch Figma Studio plugin.
I just started using Figma. I assume that Frames for Figma will automatically create wireframes in all 3 versions: desktop, tablet, and phone. 🤔 I look forward to a tutorial when it’s released.
I'm confused.. so there is going to be a whole separate "ACSS Tokens and Frames for Figma".. as in none of this comes with ACSS and Frames, as we know them now? Meaning these are all separate products? Product - ACSS Product - Frames Product - ACSS Tokens for Figma Product - Frames for Figma Hell, I'm still waiting on for Frames components to be alpha / stable.
The community you created has such a positive and supportive vibe, I really love seeing it! Thanks for everything ❤

You HIT the nail on the head. I needed this because I was going crazy with the Flothemes platform dead now.
Big fan of figma workflow and looking forward to seeing how frames can elevate that part

When Frames for Figma drops, we’re going to need a Page Designer/Wireframer Course video series. 😉😉
I'm in. Figma w Frames would def speed things up in concert w ACSS.
This workflow is heaven for web developers :D

What is the Inner Circle? 🤔
Patiently waiting for Frames for Figma 😅

XD is dead

No, not this week. I think most experienced designers in Figma should know about tokens by now.
Convinced me! where is it? 😂 I don't wanna be the guy who points to simple mistakes but you need to change the date on the landing page 😊
These are all the reasons I still design first in Figma, get it approved and then build in bricks.
Thank you for all of these videos
Hi Kevin, will there be a Bundle with Frames LTD + ACSS Tokens and Frames for Figma? :) Im excited!
Not sure yet. Probably not at first. Frames for figma and ACSS tokens are already bundled.
@@Gearyco I dont understand the difference between frames for figma and acss tokens yet :)

Has Frames for Figma been rebuilt using the new native Figma variables?

Just desktop and mobile
I bought Gary Simon’s UI/UX design course. It was very affordable. I think it uses Figma.
Is it not available anymore? Frames for figma?
Closed right now. Coming back when we add rest of frames
7 reasons?? I only need one reason, and that reason is Kevin likes it. 😉
Lovely video/tutorial once again. I think there should be a warning for people with Photosensitive Epilepsy at the start of the video.
+1
I am designer and develover :)

We've promised a Frames for Figma since the day Frames was originally launched. This was always part of the plan and the promise.
@@GearycoSo will they be separate products?? As part of a business model, separate products would make sense, and I would buy them.
FYI It sill says July release
Fixed
Launching 21 August!
