The one I pre ordered was the MGLA.PALADIN STUDIO, really love the crazy level of detailing in the armour, and the incredible ringwraith base design with the Fell Beast. It also has it's inaccuracies , but I love it for what it is and the art direction. Still wasn't an easy choice, prime 1 always do great work.

I just taken a closer look at the Infinity Studios pics on their IG and as much as I wanna love it size wise and details I just can’t love the portrait. Those squinted eyes kills my entire image of the Witch King. It looks cartoonish like he can somehow manipulate them depending on how he’s feeling? Lol He it looks like a damn blind bat from afar 😕😕🤦🏻♂️😫 I will definitely go with P1. Not inly because of the fellbeast base but the scale will go right with my P1 Sauron. Thanks for the comparison mate really eye opening to decide which one to go for 🤘🏻
Great video! Inaccuracies don't bother me that much to be honest. Although I don't see an issue with people making a fuss with them prior to the statue's release, as it's likely something the company overlooked. Like the Iron Studios Fell Beast for example, they originally used the witch king on the fell beast but people stated it should have been a standard nazgul so they changed it.
Appreciate the detail you went into! I’m definitely a fan of the Infinity Studio for scale but if I were to get one it would be the P1 just so it can stay in scale with Sauron & I love the Fellbeast Base!
Yeah doesn't matter what you prefer they all have pros and cons. Also Infinity has already replied to comments of suggestions to make it more accurate on their FB page saying that they are already looking into it. So end product of infinity might be improved. But as I said doesnt matter all are great options but I agree with you if I had to pick 1 its infinity for the same reasons you said.

Great video m8. Preach! I’m keeping my p1 PO because, like you, the base puts it over the top for me and I think their over-scaled quarter scale line make seems to stick with for me.. I may pick off one or two infinity half scales as they come out (gimli lol).

The Witch King is sooo much cooler than Sauron. His green lit bastion, the cool horse riding, the amazing voice, the screams, the helmet. The Nazgul were masterfully portrayed in the movies, one epic scene after another. Wish they'd kept the "Do you not know death when you see it" scene in the final cut. Scar from Lion King level cool. Cool villains are rare.
I'm a bit late to the party, but I didn't get a chance to watch this properly until this evening. I completely agree about the pernickety nature of some comments about all statues in general. Personally, I am interested in whether the statue can stand in its own right independent on how different it may be from the film version. The film version is one of infinite number, and sometimes these changes can make the statue design better than the original or at least as good. Now, in this particular case I think Infinity Studio version is the most different, but I really like it. The crown feels very menacing with those high cheekbones and narrow width. The weathering is a bit much, almost corroded in many areas, but it feels inkeeping with the tone of the piece. I find the pose very striking from some angles and their base is nice and subtle (apart from the label which I could do without). So in its own right - I like it despote the differences and I think it'sa very strong depiction of the character. If I was to grade these, I'd go DarkSide, Infinity, Prime 1. I am sticking with my 1/4 scale DSC PO as I prefer their depiction and as I have said before, the art print by John Howe with the Fell Beast far outweighs the Prime 1 offer in my eyes. Infinity is really tough...I'd love to have it, but it is just too big. Maybe I'll change my mind. As it stands, I'd rather wait to see if Weta do a new 1/6 one for the ROTK anniversary next year or perhaps a Classic Series one. Having read some of the comments here, I hope they don't change the design of this one as it is very distinct, which makes it stand out. It certainly would be an impressive piece to display.

The thick base on the helm on the WK is a big point (no pun intended ;) ) to me. DS has the best, but P1 / IS are better overall. IS I think is too big for me even though I like it. I came to the conclusion it’s the render/proto pics on their website that seems to have different takes on different angles. Obviously DS is more slender and pointy (looks taller but can’t know for sure). In some angles P1 looks pretty accurate, others it seems too short and stumpy. I’m probably going to wait until the Prod pics come out before drawing conclusions. Still going to keep my P1 PO!
It's the prime 1 for me the base is a winner. Also you should have added the old Sideshow PF just to see if that still holds up to the new statues & if that was better. Cheers

Keep in mind that there are quite a few Weta fanboy’s on there and they’ll grasp every opportunity to bash other studios. I just laugh when I read through those as Weta has some statues that are greatly inaccurate as well 😂 Keep calm and review on mate 😎

Hi friend, I personally think each piece has their each, distinct quality. However, overall I think the Prime 1 Studio Witch-King is the most movie accurate and my preferred piece. Even though the Infinity 1/2 scale is very cool, I think the mask is a little inaccurate. I would rank them following: 1. Prime 1 Studio. 2. DSC. 3. Infinity Studio. Regardless, they are all cool statues, and no matter what each collector is getting, I am sure they will be happy with whatever piece they are going for :-)

If you actually go to the DSC website and read their description of the piece it clearly states that this piece is ‘as appeared in The Lord of the Rings The Return of the King movie’ 👍🏻
Collect what you love. Yes, I want them to be as accurate as possible and a glaring problem would bother me, but I'm personally not bothered by these small inaccuracies. 99% of the people that will see my collection, it's not that they simply just don't care about these small inaccuracies, it's that they simply just don't know enough about each of these characters to care. They have seen the films a few times and loved them. They know enough to recognize the characters and maybe even name them, but that's it. They look at them and freakout, "Holy sh*t, it's the Witch-king!!!" "Wow, it's Gandalf!" Enjoy looking at them and then move on to the next piece. I am grateful for the 1% of the people that know enough to point these inaccuracies out to the studios when the reveal photos come out. They see the small things that I just don't see, and the studios could make changes if they thought it was a big enough issue to do so. That way we all get the best possible pieces when they are made. I love the LOTR, but I guess I fall into the 99% column. Are the tips of his crown supposed to be touching or are they supposed to be spaced a little further apart? I don't know and I have watched the films 30 times. I'd have to go and freezeframe a scene to know for sure. I just collect what I love and enjoy, and if someone was to come and point out that something wasn't completely accurate on a piece I have displayed, I would be really interested in that conversation, but in the end, it isn't going to change the happiness the piece gives me when I look at it. As for me and what version I'm going with, it's the P1 WK. But even then, I went against the majority and purchased the regular version without the Fellbeast, Personally I love the look of it better and I want to pair it with my Weta Fell Beast bust. So, I'll end where I began. Collect what you love. ✌
These are all way too large for me but it was an interesting watch. Infinity doesn’t seemed price that well to me considering it’s mostly a black piece of fabric with a few metal pieces all painted the same color. Not really feeling the pose either. Prime 1/Ds - I prefer these poses but don’t like the open mouth of the DS or their base. Looks like I’d go with Prime if I had to pick.
@@hauntofthecollectoryes they’re the same character but they’re almost completely different mediums. Two are statues 100%. Is infinity actually even a statue? (That would be an interesting topic actually). Infinity is more of a mannequin to me. So yeah it’s 1/2 scale but 70%? Isn’t sculpted. It’s a base body, as far as I know, covered in clothe. With a sculpted painted base, and a few sculpted and painted armor pieces vs sculpted and painted everything with p1 and ds.

The sword from the movie is not rounded at the tip: I own the exact sword made by Peter Lyon it is pointy like all swords. What is wrong on Infinity Studios is the engraved part on the hilt (like United Cutlery sword). This part must smooth covered with leather. About the helm you should check more pictures than these 4 images. All experts sare telling the more accurate is DS version (also Sideshow Weta). Hey John Howe is totally involved in these with Steven Saunders who worked on the movie too... ;)
Yes, I’m aware of JH involvement with DSC, and the images I’ve used are the statue companies own images and the images direct from the film. I think they go to show that the inaccuracies are very minor, in most cases? And for me, this video really was to show this. But, if these tiny differences sway you one way or the other, then that’s totally cool and makes your decision choices easier! 👍🏻 But, and it’s pretty obvious, most collectors aren’t bothered by some of these minor issues… and for me, it’s really people just going with what makes them personally happy, that’s important. 👍🏻
Also… the image I took - direct from the film (as can clearly be seen!), does show the sword to be rounded at the end? But obviously I agree, that images can be misleading? Which in itself, raises more visual inaccuracies - or, potential of seeing them, at least?… 😁
@@hauntofthecollector Yes on this image it looks round... but on many others not. Some of these a small innaccuracies indeed that don't bother many collectors. And I love Infinity Studios, maybe the best out there and they listen to us. They replied to me about the helmet, they are going to change it a bit for sure. For me the helmet is the most iconic part of this character, it must be as accurate as possible ;) But anyway I'm not ordering this statue, I'll wait for the lifesize bust (I have Sauron and Ringwraith on order already)

As far as the movies go wasn't the Witch King just a pushover? If I were to collect LOTR I'd pass him because he just looks like the Nazgul but decorated and got punkd by a female in armor.
I guess everybody has a different interest or threshold for movie accuracy. It also probably matters how important a part of the statue is inaccurate. The crown matters more than if the soles of his boots are wrong... For me Infinity look to have gone the 'stylised' route for the crown, as there's no other real excuse for being so inaccurate. The cheeks and eyes aren't even close. Bit of a risk, as the crown is by far the most important physical aspect of this character. Could you imagine a Bale Batman statue where they took artistic licence with his mask?

DSC piece is not from the movie but Howes artwork.
No mate, the Uman Studios WK was based solely on the JH artwork… the DSC is based on the movie version, but with the collaboration of JH.. 👍🏻
If you actually go to the DSC website and read their description of the piece it clearly states that this piece is ‘as appeared in The Lord of the Rings The Return of the King movie’ 👍🏻

Yes, I want them to be as accurate as possible and a glaring problem would bother me, but I'm personally not bothered by these small inaccuracies. 99% of the people that will see my collection, it's not that they simply just don't care about these small inaccuracies, it's that they simply just don't know enough about each of these characters to care. They have seen the films a few times and loved them. They know enough to recognize the characters and maybe even name them, but that's it. They look at them and freakout, "Holy sh*t, it's the Witch-king!!!" "Wow, it's Gandalf!" Enjoy looking at them and then move on to the next piece.
I am grateful for the 1% of the people that know enough to point these inaccuracies out to the studios when the reveal photos come out. They see the small things that I just don't see, and the studios could make changes if they thought it was a big enough issue to do so. That way we all get the best possible pieces when they are made. I love the LOTR, but I guess I fall into the 99% column. Are the tips of his crown supposed to be touching or are they supposed to be spaced a little further apart? I don't know and I have watched the films 30 times. I'd have to go and freezeframe a scene to know for sure. I just collect what I love and enjoy, and if someone was to come and point out that something wasn't completely accurate on a piece I have displayed, I would be really interested in that conversation, but in the end, it isn't going to change the happiness the piece gives me when I look at it.
As for me and what version I'm going with, it's the P1 WK. But even then, I went against the majority and purchased the regular version without the Fellbeast, Personally I love the look of it better and I want to pair it with my Weta Fell Beast bust.
So, I'll end where I began. Collect what you love. ✌

These are all way too large for me but it was an interesting watch.
Infinity doesn’t seemed price that well to me considering it’s mostly a black piece of fabric with a few metal pieces all painted the same color. Not really feeling the pose either.
Prime 1/Ds - I prefer these poses but don’t like the open mouth of the DS or their base.
Looks like I’d go with Prime if I had to pick.
Yeah, but in all fairness - they’re all the same character - so, Infinities being priced as such, given it’s scale, is really a decent price?… 👍🏻

Is infinity actually even a statue? (That would be an interesting topic actually).
Infinity is more of a mannequin to me. So yeah it’s 1/2 scale but 70%? Isn’t sculpted. It’s a base body, as far as I know, covered in clothe. With a sculpted painted base, and a few sculpted and painted armor pieces vs sculpted and painted everything with p1 and ds.

I feel there’s more sculpt on this piece than those other two, but yeah… it’s a valid point you raise matey 👍🏻
Good comparing,but i don't really care about accurate that much,detail is most important to me,and i love how Infinity make dusty on armor and fire sword with cool pose

The sword from the movie is not rounded at the tip: I own the exact sword made by Peter Lyon it is pointy like all swords. What is wrong on Infinity Studios is the engraved part on the hilt (like United Cutlery sword). This part must smooth covered with leather. About the helm you should check more pictures than these 4 images. All experts sare telling the more accurate is DS version (also Sideshow Weta). Hey John Howe is totally involved in these with Steven Saunders who worked on the movie too... ;)
Yes, I’m aware of JH involvement with DSC, and the images I’ve used are the statue companies own images and the images direct from the film.
I think they go to show that the inaccuracies are very minor, in most cases? And for me, this video really was to show this. But, if these tiny differences sway you one way or the other, then that’s totally cool and makes your decision choices easier! 👍🏻
But, and it’s pretty obvious, most collectors aren’t bothered by some of these minor issues… and for me, it’s really people just going with what makes them personally happy, that’s important. 👍🏻
Also… the image I took - direct from the film (as can clearly be seen!), does show the sword to be rounded at the end?
But obviously I agree, that images can be misleading? Which in itself, raises more visual inaccuracies - or, potential of seeing them, at least?… 😁
@@hauntofthecollector Yes on this image it looks round... but on many others not. Some of these a small innaccuracies indeed that don't bother many collectors. And I love Infinity Studios, maybe the best out there and they listen to us. They replied to me about the helmet, they are going to change it a bit for sure. For me the helmet is the most iconic part of this character, it must be as accurate as possible ;) But anyway I'm not ordering this statue, I'll wait for the lifesize bust (I have Sauron and Ringwraith on order already)

As I say in the video, the Infinity one is the most inaccurate, but despite that, turned out to be my favourite of the three!!??.. 😁

As far as the movies go wasn't the Witch King just a pushover? If I were to collect LOTR I'd pass him because he just looks like the Nazgul but decorated and got punkd by a female in armor.
He did!! Although he was far more formidable in the earlier stores… he’s not really shown all that well in RotK?
I guess everybody has a different interest or threshold for movie accuracy. It also probably matters how important a part of the statue is inaccurate. The crown matters more than if the soles of his boots are wrong... For me Infinity look to have gone the 'stylised' route for the crown, as there's no other real excuse for being so inaccurate. The cheeks and eyes aren't even close.
Bit of a risk, as the crown is by far the most important physical aspect of this character. Could you imagine a Bale Batman statue where they took artistic licence with his mask?
