Had an unfortunate collision in my 2014 Accord the other day. Repair costs were about as much as the car's value. So my insurance is offering me a settlement instead. It was an EX-L model and I really liked it. So I'm currently looking at all new features in the new models to put me in a better mood.
Thank you for this great look at the EX-L trim of the Accord. It helped me to decide that this will be my first actual new car. My car now is a 2004 Accord so I'm really looking forward to buying this!
Thanks Crazy Chris. Great overview. I have a 2014 Honda Accord. In the last month, I had to replace the engine due to water pump failure which led to blowing a gasket, while my 18-year-old son was driving. Replacement engine so far as caused me to return three times for check engine light with a return date scheduled for third check engine light. Now I am thinking lease new or buy used.
What audio system is in the accord? Or what’s an available option? My girlfriend recently changed her civic to a CX5 touring and the Bose system in the Mazda is amazing. I never realized how much that mattered. Just the clarity and sounds and different effects that you can hear in a song that you never knew were in the song. It’s like the new sounds are activating new neurons in my brain. I can feel my brain moving with all the things I can now hear. I had an Infiniti in 06 with a Bose unit but I forgot what that’s like. Now I’m looking to change my 17 accord touring to a new accord but I wish Honda offers a premium sound system in the accord.
Question: I noticed a shifter in the center council but other accords only have buttons for drive, reverse etc what’s the difference why one had buttons
Yes, it has wireless car play in the EXL trim and standard with a moonroof. Can't get the EXL trim without it. The highest trim available without the moonroof is the SE. Thank you for watching
Are the rims on this trim prone to curb rash, too? I’ve read where it’s is a problem with the Accords, period, and not just the 19 inch rims. There’s no protection for the rims, because they actually stick out a little farther than the tires. That’s the biggest thing that turned me off from the Sport trim levels. You look at Sport owners rims, and you will always see some beat up rims.
Just curious I still owe a lot of money on my jeep rubicon. Would honda help me trade it in for one of these vehicles? I need something for gas and comfort since I'm driving further now.
Yes they will. They even have a name for it . They call it creative financing. If you owe more than your car is worth that will get added to the cost of your new vehicle in a roundabout way. But it can be done they did it for me many years ago when I traded in a Hyundai for a Toyota Camry.
The Accords are nice! I like the new refresh for 2021 and new standard features on throughout all trims. Here's a nice list of the changes from 2020 to 2021 Accords. The Accord lineup undergoes several significant changes for the 2021 model year: The front styling receives an update with freshened grille and fascia designs-and Sport and above trims now feature LED low- and high-beam headlights. Newly styled wheels appear on the Accord LX, EX-L and Touring 2.0T. A new Accord Sport Special Edition replaces the EX in the trim walk; it adds leather trim, heated front seats, a front passenger’s seat with 4-way power adjustment and Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock® to the Sport. The Accord EX-L 2.0T trim will not be offered. The 6-speed manual transmission is no longer available. All trims are now equipped with Display Audio as well as Apple CarPlay®16 integration and Android Auto™17 integration. A pair of 2nd-row USB charging ports is now standard on Accord Sport and above trims. A wireless phone charger now comes standard on the Accord EX-L and Sport 2.0T trims for 2021. For the first time on any Honda vehicle, Accord EX-L, Sport 2.0T and Touring 2.0T trims feature wireless Apple CarPlay® integration and Android Auto™ integration. Also making its Honda debut on the Accord Touring 2.0T trim is a Low-Speed Braking Control68 that can apply the brakes if it senses the possibility of a collision while going forward or backing up at very low speeds. A new rear-passenger seat-belt reminder helps promote seatbelt usage. There’s also a new rear-seat reminder67 feature that alerts drivers to check the rear seat at the end of a drive if a rear door was opened at the beginning. The Accord EX-L joins the Touring 2.0T in featuring front and rear parking sensors. The Near Field Communication (NFC)31 is no longer offered on the Touring 2.0T trim. And there have been some adjustments to available colors inside and out.
Satellite navigation is standard on the Touring trim (next trim up). But you do get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard on the Sport and higher trims. Thanks for watching!
I bought the Sport mode and realized there were a few upgrades that I'm missing. Gonna trade it in 6 months for this one. I do want to remove that ugly chrome strip on the sides when I get it though 🥴 lol
That’s something only you can answer for yourself. But I don’t mind sharing with you that there are more standard safety and comfort features with a new body design. Are you ready to upgrade and if so how much more is this going to impact your daily driving? I appreciate your support and thank you for watching. 👍
So if you're in the car, with your keys, and you're in a bad neighborhood, and you lock your doors with you and the keys inside the car, a hoodlum can just open the door?
I think the wheels look great. The car has a lot of visual weight because of the low roof(which makes the top half of the car look small) and a high belt line(which makes for huge doors) and there’s just a huge slab of sheet metal on the sides of the car and so the beefy wheels seem to match the visual weight. The thin rims makes it look like the wheel-wells are not filled out and like this beefy body of the car is running on just rims.
Honda still makes five spoke rims that resembles toothless person. Need at least like 12 to 15 spokes to look nice and role unnoticeably like Mercedes 20 spoke rims for example.
Just traded in my 2019 base model honda for this exact model and year. I love it and I enjoyed the thorough walk through you gave us. Thank you!
Congratulations on your new Honda and thank you for your support and kind words. If you dont mind me asking, which color did you get?

Yes, after discussing with the service department you need to make sure the vehicle is programmed for the different size rims.
