I was brought up never to laugh at other people's misfortune, so I do feel bad, but oh my word, I was in tears watching this! Only you Julian could make such a procedure sound so funny!
    Fingers crossed all is good!

Very Informative but way to much talking around the points.

Have to say Julian, I am having my biopsy in a couple of days and haven’t laughed so much in years at your description of the procedure! I am nowhere near as nervous as I was and in fact the only worry I have is if I fart in the middle of the biopsy, blow that pineapple across the room ! Thank you so much and I’m really glad I watched, all the best.

Brilliant mate. Hope everything is okay. You've made me feel a lot better about my own possible biopsy. Thanks for posting.

I had a transpernial biospy. They don't go thru the rectum no more.

I had a prostate biopsy in June of 2022. I refused to have them poke 20 or more holes in my colon. Sounds like a very easy way to get peritonitis to me. Instead they went in between the anus and scrotum. I had absolutely no side effects afterward.
Important point. I think most urologists want to go in thru the colon. They won't offer you the alternative unless you ask for it. It's probably just easier for the surgeon. As far as I know there's no benefit to the patient. If I have another one I'm definitely NOT doing the colon route.

I had a vasectomy at 30 half a life ago. The biopsy sounds like a walk in the park by comparison. Already having 2 sons, this was worth it. Very uncomfortable! Counting out 239 beans for that one sounds a bit onerous!

I am sure you have great health care and hope the government can continue to provide good health care. Universal health care is the only fair way to deal with health. Health care fairness should be a larger part of the focus of health and its a mission impossible to provide healthy living conditions to a population and health research.

Very good Julian, your funniest video since "7 reasons why YOU SHOULD NOT BUY a gravel bike", a welcome return to form. Whenever I have had "intimate procedures" done there always seem to be loads of bystanders in the room. Maybe the hospitals do it to desensitise their new staff to the realities of healthcare - a bit like that scene at the beginning of Quincy.

I after listening to the biopsy.. I ain’t eating for 2 days before
Literally lie back and think of England and they don’t even give you your phone to play with whilst awaiting the gel to work

Hilarious account, if as they say humour and laughter help with your health then you should have no problem, I hope your biopsy results are clear, wishing you all the best. I had a similar procedure on my prostrate done by a nurse ( no onlookers not even Chris Froome ) all I could think of was how does she turn up for work every day knowing that she is going to spend it sticking implements up mens bottoms!

Marvellous. Having been through something slightly similar I'm glad that I now know I'm not the only one who found it amusing (I was half expecting a scene involving a daffodil in your account). In my case the aftermath involved an hour or so in a recovery ward along with several other chaps all of whom were farting the trumpet voluntary. Good luck 👍🏼

Thanks, that was hilarious and has eased the trauma of my own biopsy, which I certainly didn't enjoy! Well, apart from the lovely nurse whose job it was to talk to me to keep me distracted and then move to hold me down when things got really uncomfortable towards the end. The post-op pee was equally alarming - a bright red stream - no one warned me - told the nurse, said it was normal, doc said could be peeing blood for 6-8 weeks! It died down after a few days. The bruising on my perineum was something else as well.

Very interesting Julian, brave and good of you to amusingly share the info, likely to reassure people. Very much hope they find nothing more than a spicy bean.

So it seems that you had the transrectal prostate biopsy? You said that you were given some gel inside the anal canal, I imagine that was for the ultrasound wand? Also, was there any lidocaine given to both sides of the prostate?
