Hey there, I am in my first semester of studying electrical engineering and just recently bought a Rigol DHO914s as my first own oscilloscope. I am still a little bit confused about the function generator of the scope, if I want to make a bode plot of a simple circuit, like a RC Low pass filter, will I also need an injection transformer or is that only neccesary for power supplys? Also how much current can the function generator supply? I know it cant provide a lot of current since it is meant for creating signals and not to power stuff, but I havent found any concrete maximum current ratings online and I would like to know that so I can make sure to not overload it

I don't know the internal driver so maybe someone at EEVBLOG will know. I have used transformer with about 200 ohm and this load about 25 mA without issue. You can drive simple circuit RLC directly but make sure the dc load do not be lower than 200 ohm. benefit of transformer is DC insulation for the scope from your test circuit. What you could do also is use a simple op amp as a buffer then build your test circuit after that.

Ok, I have now actually tried making some bode plots without the injection transformer, but results havent been that good so far. Im going to look around for some old transformers now and see if that will change things. What I noticed is that always during the last couple of measurements for the bode plot, no matter at what frequenzy the values I get are not how they are supposed to be. Thanks for the videos, they have been very helpful so far!

Not always You need to isolate generator. But always You will have ground loop, which can make bad measurements on higher frequencies (like 1 MHz or more).

What is the fan noise like on this DHO924s?

Well not much and less than my old 1054Z. My kitchen fridge makes more noise.
