We are wanting to create more project based learning videos. The good news is with these they are fairly universal and will just require adjusting speed\power in most cases.
The biggest concern I would have is power draw depending on the diode module on your S9. I would contact SCULPFUN directly to see if there is an upgrade path available.
Hello, thank you very much for the video ! I have an issue on the 1.3 version of lightroom. About the air assit, the menu doesn't seems to exist anymore on this version. How can I fix the homecycling issue ?
Are you saying that you do not see the option to toggle air on or off in the cuts/layer window? The questions following it seems like you are asking about homing so I am not sure if there are two separate issues or if they are somehow related. Please send screenshots/video of the issue you are having to support@lightburnsoftware.com.
This varies slightly for each machine but xTool should have a table that outline good starting settings for most common materials. In LightBurn you can go to "Laser Tools", and "Material Test" to run a speed/power grid. This will help you find the best settings for your machine and material.
Hello, i followed all your instruction carrefully, but when i click home ,to homing the laser,it doesn't touch the x axis limit switch and do an horrible sound... please can you explain me why?
Is it homing in the wrong direction or hitting the switch but not stopping? If it is homing in the wrong direction you will need to adjust the direction with $23 in the console. You can find specifics on that here: github.com/gnea/grbl/blob/master/doc/markdown/settings.md. If it is homing in the correct direction but not stopping when it hits the switch I would double check wiring.
Unplug everything but your laser. If that doesn't work, just use 'Create Manually", choose 'GRBL' as the device type, enter the size of the machine in mm, and choose front-left as the origin corner.
What issue are you having with installing the driver? Send our support team an email with a screenshot of what you are seeing or any additional info on the error - support@lightburnsoftware.com
I installed the driver and set up the laser. It says "ready" but when I go to machine settings it says "communication with controller failed." What am I doing wrong?
In the Laser window next to the device button is a drop down that lets you select the COM port your laser is connected to. Although it is saying ready, I am wondering if the wrong port is selected. If there are other options in that drop down try them and see if it resolves the issue. If it persists contact our support team - support@lightburnsoftware.com
Hello, i have s30 pro max, but using the settings that where on the original video, it doesnt' even cut 3mm wood that was in the package. The laser is brand new.
If the S30 Pro Max is also 10W I would confirm that your focal distance is set correctly. Check the section under power output in this article: docs.lightburnsoftware.com/Troubleshooting-Output.html#output-is-mirrored-or-backwards If that doesnt do it I would contact Sculpfun.
It could be off to the side if the window is small, or it’s possible it’s not supported by whatever type of laser you have. Do you have a Sculpfun or some other kind of laser?
Are you just looking for speed and power settings? The manufacturer may have this but it is always recommended to run a test grid for each new material to find the settings that work best for your machine. This video covers the tool: th-cam.com/video/RPNzjK4kvEQ/w-d-xo.html
Having the specific issue with my S30 pro max not firing the laser when I click the fire button. It will not fire during the framing process either. I have enabled both functions in the laser settings and have not been able to figure it out. The laser cuts and engraves perfectly when I start the task and works great otherwise. I never had this issue with my other s30 pro. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi mate!, u know…I’m having some minor difficulties. I installed the driver, restarted my computer and changed the usb ports but, it still doesn’t recognize the laser. I’ve been searching forums but no one seems to know. Do u have any idea how could I fix it?
The S30 Pro may have a slightly smaller build volume do to the larger diode. In a lot of instances the diodes will be physically larger which could eat up a bit of your usable work area.
@@lightburnsoftware7189 so I literally bought a machine with a cutting capacity of 410mm x 400mm and it doesn't even have 370mm x 375mm. Good marketing..
If you used this link then it would be a false flag and you may need to allow it past your virus detection: sparks.gogo.co.nz/ch340.html Alternatively you could try a different source. The CH340 driver is quite a common one.

What do you have the output set to? There is a percentage you will need to set in the move window that translates to the fire button there and when framing. On some machines if it is too low it will not output anything or be very dim.
For now description is misleading. Working area is 400 mm x410 mm. But laser can reach only 360 mm x 340 mm. And don't forget very loud fan. It's turned on even if you don't do anything with CNC.
Is this in reference to the grbl setting? If so we have some info on it here docs.lightburnsoftware.com/Troubleshooting-Output.html#power-output-is-not-the-same-as-other-software-grbl If not, and you need help please contact our support team support@lightburnsoftware.com
I have set up my S30 according to this video. However, the laser bed on the software does not match the laser. It seems to be different everytime and I can't figure it out. It homes to the front left corner. If i put my project in the front left, the laser frames to the rear and tries to go bwyond the bed. Please help!
It sounds like the origin was set incorrectly. If the origin is not set to match the laser mirrored output is common as well as the location being incorrect. I would look to make sure you have the origin set to the front left corner. If for some reason it is and is still framing in the opposite corner try switching the origin to one of the other three options to see if that resolves it.
Wow this is the best help I can find thank you for this cause I was going bald with frustration
The sculpfun looks so great!
Hello thanks for sharing this, hope u guys can keep making videos about the SCULPFUN S30. Its so easy to understand you and follow the steps :)
