The CH-47 Chinook is a beautiful helicopter, I want it to remain operational for many more decades, and never need to be replaced from the new helicopter.
Those pilots not only have balls of steel to possess the manoeuvring skills shown here, but balls of TITANIUM!!! The Chinook pilots and CREW are very professional, I know I flew 9oo hours as a FLT.ENGNEER on a SUPER C in Vietnam 1970 into 1971 I really liked that job.
7:51 and next clip are 160th SOAR Chinooks , Special Operations birds that man they are different, 4 mini-guns at all 4 corners that radar absorbing flat black coating and allllllllll the sensors ,..bad ass!
My brother was a Flt Eng on a ch47 in Nam. Most of that excellent maneuvering is from the flt eng. calling out what to do from the midship hold. It's a ballet of the crew interacting.
An even better treat is when I hear that very distinct slow and low thump thump thump I look up and there it is, the super stallion. They are amazing to see high in the sky.
@@johnwirk I use to hear that in my house while it was still a couple minutes away. They flew over my house frequently. Apache and cobra too. I could tell you which one just by hearing it. The apache were loud but Chinook shook the pictures on the walls. 😂
@@derekenlow7607 Down in SC where I lived, they serviced alot of aircraft for the military, mostly the C130s....quite often they would fly over full throttle years ago and you could sometimes smell the exhaust. Alot of people complained and I understand but I loved it. So they eventually limited them to part throttle or whatever the "agreement" was. Donaldson center is where I think they traveled to and from in Greenville SC. I saw alot of aircraft there and miss it but life's demands moved me.
What skills ?......only smart people got training, then its all on what they have. I actually salute the guy/ people who designed the Chinook......its really awesome

Extraction from water seems problematic. Swimming with tons of gear and then climbing a ladder that's not stable? If they can do it that's great but it just seems crazy.

チヌークって勝手にもっとドン臭いイメージだったけど、実際の機動力って思っていた以上に高くそして速い事に驚いた。
そしてそれを操るパイロットの腕があればこそだと言う事が良く分かる動画。
4:30 からのシーン、屋上に負荷かけられないからタイヤの先っちょが付く高さで静止させてるんだな？震災の時、自衛隊のヘリも屋上から救助するために披露して「神業」と称賛されてた。
ホバリングの安定感がすごすぎですよねえどんだけ訓練したらあれだけ安定するんだろうって、あと個人的には8:35からの滑空してからの着陸もマジかよってくらい衝撃です。
素人考察ですが、ヘリボーン時は隊員を下ろすときが一番隙が出来るのでよく攻撃に合います、その場合中に数名隊員が残っていても緊急離脱、緊急回避が出来るよう推力を保持し、あえて前輪を下ろさないようにしているのだと思います。建造物の見た目からしてヘリの重量には耐えれそうでしたので・・・ですがこういった技術も上記の低耐久建造物での救助に役立つのでそういった面もあるかとっ、コメント失礼しました！

ちなみにチヌークさん、今回の映像にはありませんでしたが、ご用とあらば着水します。
流石に停止してプカプカ浮く事はありませんが、腹を水面にびたっと付けて隊員の乗せ下ろしもできますね。
近年兵員輸送にオスプレイが活躍していますが、重量物の輸送には欠かせないので、しばらく退役する事はなさそうです。
