thanks a lot. I am a 16 year old game dev and i started using unreal engine when i was 11. I've really been getting better at it. Since the last 2 years i've been making vr tech demos just to get better at making vr game and i'm almost finally done with making my first actual vr game to publish to steam. I've already gathered an audience for my game without the game even being out yet. One of my tech demos on another channel kinda blew up because the physics in that tech demo are almost better than the physics in boneworks. When i first released a sneak peek for the game i've been making it already got over 100k views in just 3 days. I'm really glad it's going so well and you've helped me alot with my motivation. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve been using an engine made by 2 people, which they made ENTIRELY in Clickteam Fusion
What its features is it features you to use Custom Animatronics, Mask, Custom Mask Animation, and more.
The only limitations it has is that it’s only a fangame Maker up to FNAF 2, and also has an optional tab called “Developer” for Coding with the language “Lua” for things like the Foxy mechanic from FNAF 1

I've been making a videogame for 4 years, and I restarted the project 2 times from scratch because everytime I put something in the game, some weeks later I came up with another idea of how I could improve either the gameplay or the performance of my game. Now I'm very proud of the actual state of my game and I think it looks amazing. But now, I wonder if my videogame will have any attention from the public, I don't want my project to disappear, it doesn't deserve to be forgotten :( .
I'm planning to make another little videogame, so the people could know some of my work before I upload my game to Steam, and hopefully, I will get enough to pay my university. Of course I started this because of fun, and it is something that I really enjoy to do yet!

Manage a team is not an easy task and sometimes that can really make want you to reconsider this idea. But still, more than ever, I want to go through this adventure. My dream was to make games so I entered computer science college with focus on game development. During college, I worked 2 years in a team of 4 people on a game called Endless Dream and we also released it on Steam. After release, the sales were just 140$ over one year. And then Steam account got hacked -,-
After this crushing experience, all of my team members never touch game development again. This experience just crushed any dream about game development. Reality kicks in and the worthless life continues.
I am glad that I choose coding and not artist so I can use my skills in non game related fields. But most artists I know barely survive since their wages are terrible. For me game development is just a hobby and I cannot imagine game development as full time job anymore. And for some reason, developing Assets for the Unity Asset store became much more fun than actually creating games.

Then it hit me, why not just download the two together? I felt like an idiot. It isn't really that much of a problem to use both since Godot has a pretty low file size and I had a pretty decent computer to handle both the engines.

My concern is money. For over 4 years, I kept getting told to pay someone to do the work for me, get a tutor, buy a book, buy a course, buy a $2000 gaming computer, or go to college.
I managed to fix this with code.org to read code, then make a basic project from a Pygame tutorial on TH-cam.

Those selected features did bring to my head some "experiences": "No Money" is for not having money to purchase an adequate computer to work (developing environments require too much computer to install and use smoothly), and I don't own the currency to purchase those. "Nobody to Work With" because almost no people work (and here in my country, most of them don't want) video games developing. "Too Young" is REALLY a STUPID reason, because I was planning my first game when I was 7 years old (currently 35) and I'm still wishing to make it real. And for the end of this video, YES!!! I'm planning to make some games, a fighting one (I would like to call it Tsuken, which will be a franchise with 17 games), an adventure one (La Ciudad del Misterio), some puzzles (Cubipress, Quarth Evolution (with Konami), Sokoban World (with Thinking Rabbit), Multipletris, and more), a rhythm game (I have not planned the name yet), and much more...

That first excuse... I remember back in the day paying $100 for a license to use the Torque game engine, and that was an incredible steal. But I jumped in too soon, and didn't realize that it wouldn't be compatible with the "Personal Learning Edition" of Maya, which previously I had used with UT2K4 mods and a special plug-in. There was no way I could afford the $7000+ to get a full copy of Maya, and Blender wasn't around yet. I never actually did make anything with that engine because I never had a complete toolset for developing content.
Jump ahead fifteen years and I'm building games in Unity for free, drawing art in GIMP for free, writing scripts in Visual Studio for free, and making 3D models/animations in an old and outdated student copy of Maya that I've had for a very long time. (But I could use Blender for free.)

Study Computer Science instead, the overhead of CS is really broad but it turned out really useful for me. Also it's a standard degree which can be used to a lot of things in your life, you never know what can happen or in which situation you may find yourself in as game dev is really unstable career. Never neglect humanities. Do as much activities related to humanities as you can off your grade. Theater acting and writing can be really good and even painting.
I'm working on a game dev company that is really good and my differential in here is that I can code and also understand the art pipeline, while being able express the flux of development really clearly to various people of various backgrounds.
Also enjoy as much university as you can.

Marco widgets is correct!!! Listen I got my Associate's in Game Design and it's harder for me to find a job in the programming industry at all. Your going to want to have a way to support yourself while you look for an indie team or get recruited to a big game company.
Getting an degree in Computer science is better than getting a degree in game design because it's more specialized and it would SEEM like you know more than I would in programming just off the name of the degree which will get you a job that can help you improve your skills as a programmer, while at home you read on game design at your own pace. That's what's going to set you apart in the job hunt, and I wish someone told that to me when I 1st started out.

As a 26 year old going back to school, this video is inspiring. For me, I need college. Currently, I'm going to a public in-state community college and then transferring to a great in-state public university for computer game design to learn, make games with students and get an internship which is guaranteed by this school. Not only that, but the program covers all dev roles to give students an understanding of each other. It's the less expensive approach than going to a private Game Design School which are usually overpriced.
Bottom line is, it's you to you. People dont care about degrees, they care about experience and what you've been doing. So a recent graduate (BFA) with a great portfolio, social networking skills, an internship and experiance designing games with people, will no doubt find a job in the industry compared to a lonely self taught dev with no experience designing games or networking. It's a very competitive world. Do what you must to get ahead. Good luck.

For number 9... It's actually better if you work ALONE... especially for beginner/first timer. Lots of project crashed and burned because the other guys just suddenly missing or have disagreement over something (sometimes a simple reason like... her skin is not dark enough).
By working alone, you can make your own schedule, make your own ideas and creativity, and hold all copyrights after finishing and uploading it.
There are free musics and free placeholder arts (which have high quality) out there which you can use... well, for free. The only thing you must able to do is, of course, a little bit of programming. But some game engine out there is quite simple so as long as you want to learn, you should be able to do it.
