Thank you very much for another Guyanese classic. I am planning to do this next year and I appreciate all the details you added like showing how the creamed batter needs to look. In terms of soaking the fruits, I have heard some people soak for 1 year, adding more rum to keep the fruits from drying out. Can you please share what you do? Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Hi Sandhya, thank you. I was late soaking the fruits. Because of that I blended them before soaking in white rum and sweet red wine for 2 weeks. It came out great. Yes people do soak for a year or even longer. I have all the fruits that I used listed in the description box.. you can always use more or less of your favorite fruits. I really like prunes, dates, cranberries, cherries and currants. Personally not a fan of raisins. Lol.. my husband loves it.. Happy Holi to you and your family..❤️❤️
Thank you Lisa.. I always used to avoid making it because I thought its too complicated. It’s actually easier than I thought. You got this! Happy Holidays to you and your family ❤️❤️
@@NadisKitchen1 thanks - I’m not the biggest fan of black cake - a slice for the season and I’m good. But my mom loves it…. Merry Christmas to you and family ❤️
