For the record, I really enjoy your channel, like myself you’re a stickler for detail. As I always mention, most collections have a theme, as an older retired collector, mine is based on cars that I’m intimately familiar with. Several years ago I realized that the vintage cars I was interested in weren’t vintage at all but what I call re pops. The development and licensing is very similar to that of real cars. I mentioned some of my higher end resin cars ( regardless of the brand) were identical in their construction. I also noticed that an older Buick Riviera ( Highway 61) was being reproduced by another brand that claimed the cars they made were being developed, the only difference is it was called a custom cruiser instead of a Buick, it was offered in modern bright colors with modern wheels, this caused me to take a deeper look also to ask my distributor about the similarities between Cult, Stamp and BOS, it was then he told me that the people contracting the builds and the number of pieces is based on the brand and the level of quality. You collect high end current super cars ( and I live vicariously through your channel) my reason for pointing this out is l actually seek out actual vintage die cast models that are actually 30 to 40 years old, discontinued Kyosho, Autoart, Ertl and Highway 61 trying to avoid those re pops I mentioned earlier. Before I became aware of the re pops, I had purchased older Chevys that had a floor mounted and a column mounted shifter, some had tail lights and some didn’t, that’s when I really began to check the dates and the brands more closely. Many of these cars are priced like the vintage cars. Unlike your collection mine is limited to late 30’s to the late 70’s many of them British. It’s been very interesting sorting out the real vintage from those re pops. Just sharing man , I appreciate your love of the hobby and you theme.
I'm waiting for this AutoArt's model in Midnight Purple. This color is magical. And I'm usually sceptical about the composite line, but this time it looks like AutoArt really returns to its roots in terms of details, especially engine details.
