Chipzel - Dicey Dungeons Beta OST (2019) [Full Rip]

- This video is a complete rip of all of Chipzel's music that can be found in the preliminary versions of Dicey Dungeons that were released on itch.io for people who purchased the game prior to its 1.0 release on August 13th 2019. In a few obvious cases, the music in these builds was obviously meant to be mere placeholders but a fair amount of the music was "complete" in it's own right. However, many of the combat themes found their way into the game's official soundtrack albeit not in the same way you'd have heard if you played the beta builds of the game.
Seeing as how these songs weren't meant for casual listening, I went ahead and made some slight edits so that they don't end abruptly. The build that I have access to that I ripped the music from was one of the final beta releases that was made public. I think it was released sometime in late May of 2019, but I imagine they were integrated into the betas well before then.

A note about the tracklist: the titles I used are derived from the filenames used by the game with some of the prefixes or suffixes removed. Beside some tracks are the songs in the official soundtrack that utilizes elements from the beta music written in parenthesis. I believe I've correctly identified each one but it's possible I missed some. In cases where this is not true, the words in parenthesis serve to contextualize the track that's playing.

Combat 7 blows me the hell away. Stuff like 28:29, 29:49 and 30:50 I like especially.
It makes me wish this made it to release with the instrumental flourish, cuz it'd be even more a banger than it is already.

Combat 5 is actually an early version of Bonus Round, when the song picks up, it can be heard as the main melody.
Ah, you're totally right! Nice catch! It's definitely way more subtly integrated into Bonus Round than any of the other beta versions, which is probably why I didn't notice it back when I uploaded this.

Do you have a download for these songs in their original looping versions? I'd like to try and replace the original music with these beta ones ingame using a mod

Man this is weird to listen to. You can hear some familiar melodies, but overall the soundtrack lacks memorability and a strong thematic connection. But after a while of working on it Chipzel was able to turn this into what I'd argue is one of the best video game soundtracks I've ever heard.

4. Combat 1
5. Combat 2
Combat 5 is real solid since it has this bouncy vibe to it which is reminiscent of Against All Odds, one of my favorite tracks
always loved the part in step right up at 19:50 to 19:58

i dont think the final showdown with Lady Luck existed back then.
@@somerandomone Against All Odds is the battle theme for the Jester, Lady Luck's theme is "Fortune Favors the Bold."

Close, it's an early version of Bonus Round, Against All Odds does use soundclips from many other songs though.
Combat 5 is my favorite in this lineup. It sounds like it's not from Dicey Dungeons, though.
