It's so fun seeing someone who hasn't played it before, gives me so much flashback to when I played it as a child trying to figure things out. The controls on the switch version have been improved a lot, camera is still bad. I guess some parts would become too easy compared to the old game if they fixed that as well
@@alwayswatching5545 sunshine’s camera loved to clip through walls and screw you over. Perfect example is in pinna park shine 5 where you have to knock down one of those big electric turtles at the top of the Ferris wheel. The climb section alone is difficult, but the camera always goes inside the walls and you can’t see where you are and what you’re really doing. Makes playing the game at some points super unbearable
Epic Furret plus it has some difficult levels (looking you human pinball). The watermelon was also annoying but is better than the sunbird one and the human pinball (forgot the name)
Jack, a few tips: -The names of the level give a hint to a possible star *Certain levels change the map a little so its a good idea to aim for the star that matches the hint (like how koopa the quick was only on the second level of bob-bomb battlefield and not the first) but you don't have to (like how you can get the 8 red coins on any level) -There will be some levels where you have to unlock a cap in order to get the star, meaning you'd have to come back to earlier levels *If you go to the circular carpet at the bottom of the stairs in the main room and there is a light shining on it, stand in the middle of the carpet, go into first-person and look at the light (saying this because I don't know if it's immediately obvious enough) -There are 7 stars in each level, one is always find 8 red coins and another is always getting 100 total coins. (I'm not sure about Bowser levels though) If you get the 100 coin star it'll actually let you continue playing on that level -You don't need to get every star to technically beat the game -You can attack the piranha plant if you sneak up close enough and it'll drop a blue coin -You can walk between a whomp's legs if you keep going towards it as it falls at you -If you hit up at the top of a pole you will do a handstand on it -You can somersault by running in one direction, turning abruptly and jumping *You can exit a level without losing a life by standing still and pushing start -The air and health bar are the same so you can technically heal by diving into water and coming back up -You can grab that koopa shell you saw in the water level by punching it *You should talk to toad when you see him, he might give you a star (It's not random but I'm not gonna tell you which ones they are) -Check the back yard every now and then, if a boo is in the hallway leading outside that means you've unlocked a level, you can get to it by following it out and doing something (again, not gonna say exactly what but this isn't really difficult to find)
I doubt you'll come back to see this Sean, but a lot of us want you to play more of this. I am one of the ones who grew up playing this game, I was 7 years old when I played this and I actually was so excited when I beat the final bowser boss. Now, you may be a lot older than 7 years old, but I know I for one and I'm sure many others want to see you beat it as well. It is worth finishing, so please come back to it! We'd love it.
Very excited to watch you play this! This was the first video game I ever played. I still have my Nintendo 64 and it still works perfectly. I will say, you're doing exceptionally well for your first time playing it. Every time I try to teach a friend, they fall off the edge constantly or get killed by one of the monsters. I'm surprised how accurate this version is to the original. Sometimes they change things when they make it available to other systems.
Don't sweat it Jack, you got this, Pro-Tips, getting all 8 Red Coins gives you a star in every level, even the ones leading up to Bowser fights, try your best to unlock the Flight, Invisible & Metal Caps, doing so will open up so much of the game for you. And lastly in the upper-right room (1 Star tri-glass window room), the secret entrance is the right wall's window.
Please be gentle, I promise I'm still a gamer

The worse part is you actually can do that. The mom even gets angry if you pick up the baby after she gives you the star.

looool, Arin sucks so bad at this game. It was super rough watching him play 😂 ... at least Jack is competent.
Had to like this to make it 69 likes. Niiiiice
@@hanstone2662 Nice...
I was getting Arin Hanson war flashbacks the whole time
It's so fun seeing someone who hasn't played it before, gives me so much flashback to when I played it as a child trying to figure things out. The controls on the switch version have been improved a lot, camera is still bad. I guess some parts would become too easy compared to the old game if they fixed that as well
Please continue this! I was so excited to see you play. It's really refreshing seeing a let's play by someone who's never played this game before.
“I’m glad they made the camera better.” The camera hasn’t changed. This means that you are more tolerant than most people. So am I though.
I find the camera in 64 to actually be pretty good. Sunshine's camera on the other hand...
XonereX now hold up one second there buckaroo
@@alwayswatching5545 sunshine’s camera loved to clip through walls and screw you over. Perfect example is in pinna park shine 5 where you have to knock down one of those big electric turtles at the top of the Ferris wheel. The climb section alone is difficult, but the camera always goes inside the walls and you can’t see where you are and what you’re really doing. Makes playing the game at some points super unbearable
Epic Furret plus it has some difficult levels (looking you human pinball). The watermelon was also annoying but is better than the sunbird one and the human pinball (forgot the name)
Epic Furret I know
I just love that game to much to accept any flaws
Jack, a few tips:
-The names of the level give a hint to a possible star
*Certain levels change the map a little so its a good idea to aim for the star that matches the hint (like how koopa the quick was only on the second level of bob-bomb battlefield and not the first) but you don't have to (like how you can get the 8 red coins on any level)
-There will be some levels where you have to unlock a cap in order to get the star, meaning you'd have to come back to earlier levels
*If you go to the circular carpet at the bottom of the stairs in the main room and there is a light shining on it, stand in the middle of the carpet, go into first-person and look at the light (saying this because I don't know if it's immediately obvious enough)
-There are 7 stars in each level, one is always find 8 red coins and another is always getting 100 total coins. (I'm not sure about Bowser levels though) If you get the 100 coin star it'll actually let you continue playing on that level
-You don't need to get every star to technically beat the game
-You can attack the piranha plant if you sneak up close enough and it'll drop a blue coin
-You can walk between a whomp's legs if you keep going towards it as it falls at you
-If you hit up at the top of a pole you will do a handstand on it
-You can somersault by running in one direction, turning abruptly and jumping
*You can exit a level without losing a life by standing still and pushing start
-The air and health bar are the same so you can technically heal by diving into water and coming back up
-You can grab that koopa shell you saw in the water level by punching it
*You should talk to toad when you see him, he might give you a star (It's not random but I'm not gonna tell you which ones they are)
-Check the back yard every now and then, if a boo is in the hallway leading outside that means you've unlocked a level, you can get to it by following it out and doing something (again, not gonna say exactly what but this isn't really difficult to find)
One more thing, as I noticed he was always using the slow swimming mode, you can swim faster by pressing A occasionally instead of holding it down.
The haunted house level is one of the best in the game. So much cool shit in there
Beautiful summary my friend
Also, most importantly in my opinion: Press down on the right stick to zoom out. Makes it so much easier to see things.
@@ZachAttack6089 100% yes. This and using left and right on the right stick to turn the camera make the camera much more bearable.

Really good Pro Tips for this game! I remember having to look up cheats on a website called gamecodes or something!
Also, getting 100 coins gets you another power star.
