    This is the very best guide to filters that I have come across. Oddly, the minute you address the limitations they become obvious! I used this information to fix filters clogging chronically. The pleated and 45.5 by 20 advice is pure gold. Thank you.

      I do also love and use your pleated filters. I find the reasonably priced.

    I've never worked with or spent a dime with this company, but I love this spokesman, the owner, I believe, because he acts and speaks like a reg'lar Joe, simple and to the point. Even liked the way he was annoyed by the floating lint in front of him-- I would have snatched it away, too! He's clear and informative without all the bells and b.s. that so many you-tubers are wont to broadcast. Ahh.

    My water pipes are in the attic. When it's hot during the summer, the cold water taps can run 130 degree water because of the heat in the attic when I first turn them on for about 2 minutes. Would such hot water ruin those filters or would they still be effective?

    I have high (3.5) tannins. Did I miss you discuss a filter for tannins?

    • @uswatersystems

      This is a filter we use for removing Tannin. www.uswatersystems.com/us-water-4-5-x-10-222-charged-media-filter-cartridge.html
      However Tannin can be tricky depending on how much you have so I would talk to a specialist before you purchase a filter to make sure to will work for the job. If you like one of ours could help you. 1-800-608-8792

    Hi
    Can you recommend a filter to remove chlorine ammonia and bleach from municipal water sources (they add bleach to disinfect water) without investing in an ro system? I'm looking for simple one for cleaning aquarium water.

    Hi, may I know which filter I should use if I would like to reduce the sulfur concentration?

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Sorry, but unfortunately you can't get rid of sulfur with a single cartridge filter. As of now it takes a whole system, usually with Hydrogen peroxide (as it works the best) to eradicate it. www.uswatersystems.com/infusion-backwashing-filter-for-iron-sulfur-and-manganese-removal.html
      Hope this helps.

    I have a whole house filter that's 4' long, we have bad water. I can't find a replacement. Do you have one?

    • @uswatersystems

      4 feet? Sorry, no. These are the Whole House FIlters we sell: www.uswatersystems.com/systems/filters/whole-house-cartridge-filter-systems
      If you can't find the filter you are looking for maybe consider plumbing in a new filter system.

    What is the best under counter arrangement for filtering chloramines?

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For under the counter I would say an RO system like this one: www.uswatersystems.com/us-water-aquapurion-5-stage-reverse-osmosis-system-with-enhanced-chloramine-removal.html

    • @ChrisGotwald

      waterfilters.net carries a CRFC-BB or a CRFC-20BB that are designed for the removal of chloramines. Technical data sheet is here: www.pentair.com/en/products/residential-water-treatment/residential-professional-series/chloramine-reduction.html

    Which do I need to help with the sulfur smell?

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately Sulfur is tough to kick. You will need something more than a water filter to eliminate it. It usually takes Hydrogen Peroxide. www.uswatersystems.com/water-problems/sulfur-hydrogen-sulfide

    Will this get rid of the fluoride that the city puts in the water ?

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To remove fluoride you need more than a cartridge filter. You need reverse osmosis or a whole house filter.

    Which type of ro can able to handle 6000 ppm

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your TDS is above 2,000 ppm you should consult with one of our Certified Water Specialists before selecting a system. In certain cases, an anti-scalant may be needed for extreme water problems. Our Certified Water Specialists can determine if this is necessary. 1 - 800 - 608 - 8792

    • @martyvanord984
      @martyvanord984 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look at a spin-down filter. I have found that the big blue 4.5 by 20 pleated lasts a long time and the cost is very affordable. Not only is this video a great source of information, but US Water is also a great source for pleated filters!

      @@martyvanord984 Thank you. But I do in fact have a media filter that I backflush once a month. No filters to buy. It’s kind of like a sand filter for a swimming pool!

  • @cdoublejj
    @cdoublejj 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    alright so how long the filter lasts depends on the water. you may have to change it ever 30-65 days! that adds up. there are very mild acids you can clean with them. this guy has done it for years! th-cam.com/video/Ij2PMIGpu20/w-d-xo.html as much i was clean drinking water i more concerned about the iron and stuff but, i don't want to spend $60-$90 a month in salt and filter prices, might as well get city water. bigger filter is the way to go though! i wonder if you could run 2 in parallel also sediment filter that can be drained and washed would be a big boost!
