Ambitious?? This is just a remake of the original SpongeBob movie..just with different voice actors, random animation style switches, and just an overall cheap production. I’m not judging you for liking it. I just don’t see how you think it’s “ambitious” lol.
@@aye_its_karate6169 animation isn't exactly easy, let alone fulfilling an entire project. Even if it is just a remake. Hello
It's beyond an absolute honor for me to be part of this exceedingly extraordinary and majestic project. Stephen Hillenburg would be very proud of y'all for this incredible dedicated masterpiece. Thanks to everyone who took the time to bring us this amazing tribute to an animated icon.
He really would.

It's crazy to think that technically for a minute and a half (1:14:36) I played the role of SpongeBob. Never really thought about that throughout the entire time I was crafting Goofy Goober Rock, so being able to see the entire project come together as a whole is really something special. This definitely exceeded ALL of my expectations. Incredible work by absolutely everyone involved. Was such a nostalgia trip to sit down and re-watch this movie. Yeah that's the best part about reanimation collabs. You get to see artists come together and let loose with their own styles instead of sticking to the script. I'm one of the artists by the way.
@@cometcartoons8528quick question cause I’m just curious: when you were given your segment of the movie, did they let you choose the scene you wanted? And when you were working on it did they give you the original movies audio or their remade audio to lip/audio sync to?
@@creepertech9872 I was given my segment about 1 year and a half before the official release of the reanimation. As for how the scenes were handled, it was mostly a "first come, first served" deal. While we could pick scenes to work on, we weren't guaranteed to automatically get them. And we were allowed to work on another scene if we already finished our first scene. Finally for the audio, when we animated the scenes we did use clips and audio from the original movie but we had to completely revoice the whole thing to avoid copyright. Although, we did get hit with copyright and had to take it down temporarily, eventually news about our reanimated movie started growing on twitter and TH-cam that before we knew it, we were allowed to keep the reanimation on TH-cam.
@@cometcartoons8528 thanks for replying! It’s interesting to know how it happened. Are you working with them on their current project? (Which if I’m not mistaken, if them reanimating the second movie for real, instead of the April fools gag)

Whoever animated the part for Mindy's quick explanation for the bag of winds was clearly inspired by Epic Mickey and I salute you for it.
I love Epic Mickey. I love the style, the action, the combat, the choices, everything. The sequel gives you less freedom after you "complete" it, but it is a great game nonetheless! it's good to know there are those who still enjoy the game. The cutscenes also improved from the first to the second, as it was first just simple drawings and mumbles, and full blown musical numbers given to us by the Mad Doctor, honestly the best part in the sequel. I just loved it, to be honest. The hardest part was figuring out the perfect balance to get to the tree houses without help from Smee or the other guy. It was hard. All in all, 10/10 games both of 'em!

27:22 are those Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke (aka the original voice actors of SpongeBob and Patrick, respectively)?
yea!
Mindy should've been voiced by Mindy Kaling
tom KENNY
Can’t believe Viacom tried to take this down and get away with it. Nice to see this back up for the world to see how much ambition they put into this. Good work guys! ❤️
Can't say I'm that surprised. In terms of greed, they're nearly as bad as Disney😒
@@graciemack2002 agreed
@Paul Martin I don't know what all Warner Bros. has done, but I believe you.
they WHAT
@Paul Martin Ok, the first one sounds like they actually did it out of greed. The second one sounds like it was done by some stupid employee. Either way, that's pretty sour😕😑

The one true hero
Well done to everyone who participated in this masterpiece of a movie.
I almost cried while watching this through the end. Every one involved on this project did phenomenal, this is THE example of what the power of a loving community can do.
Stronger than me. I balled like a baby at shell city and when I say the in memory of Steven Hillenburg it did me in. Something about SpongeBob and the way it brings everyone together just blows me away.
the second i heard ocean man i couldnt even help but tear
7:11 I was genuinely convinced this was from the actua movie it looks super good! Good job to all the animators and evryone else who worked on this project! This is a dream come true!
I still can't tell if it is real or fanmade
That part was by Comic Auzi
There is a frame at 17:12 that looks so real the only reason I think it might ne fanmade is because of the background.
@@Zer0Sp4c3 nope thats the original
it's the original. it was a mistake in the editing's part
57:42 this is such a fun artstyle!!!! i love this whole project sm
This is an animated masterpiece, a great tribute to Stephen Hillenburg, and a testament of the potential of animators. I congratulate all of you involved in this project, Stephen and the original show’s team would be very proud!
@Logan Roof we didnt need to know
@Logan Roof
Not funny, didn’t laugh
At least logan roof left this
I think the best part about this entire project is the sheer variety of styles. It does not matter how amazing or shitty you are at art. If you can draw, animate, or even just edit pictures to mesh together, your contribution WILL make it in because you’re putting your time and effort into aiding this two-year-long project. It’s like the only requirement was that you wanted to make homage to hillenberg and that you would take time out of your day to contribute to the project.
Absolutely beautiful…
You know we should all appreciate all the work that was put into this project. 2 years into the making and they manage to fully complete a work of art that managed to match the original movie but 10 times better. Thank you all for making this whole thing we appreciate it dearly. Stephen Hillenburg we will never forget the day you created this legendary series thank you for everything.
"But 10 times better" yeah not in the slightest bit lmao
37:22 this part destroyed me for some reason
I love how 1:07:43 looks like the GBA port of the movie game, same sprites and all.
God, my props to all of the animators, but I absolutely ADORED the scene at 1:01:35 !! It was such a good protral of emotion with limited facial features and truly executed the suicide mission !
Its really lovely
Fun fact! I know the guy who animated that. His graduation short film involved a queer dragon successfully seducing a tax collector to avoid their hoard being taken and he teaches us with full view of paintings of his shapeshifting purple salamander fursona in the background. Extremely cool guy.
7:11 The animation on that scene looks SO GOOD! It looks like a HD ver. of the ACTUAL MOVIE!
Plot twist: This is Nickelodeon's animator
When I saw it, I was thinking it was a clip from the movie.
Same...
The movie is already in HD
The amount of money I'd pay for the entire movie animated like that
the animation, the creativity, the voice acting. everything about this is amazing and im so shocked that this masterpiece even exists. the amount of time and dedication of everyone in this project is amazing to see (not to mention how fans made a better spongebob movie than nick could with the 3rd movie) i wish stephen could see this, he would be proud.
I just realized something about the ending short.
Their designs start off modern but progressively get older.
They start off looking like season 13, and slowly get more and more retro, to the point of their concept designs.
omg, that's brilliant, i love little these little details so much.
Glad I'm not the only one who realized that! :)
on 17:12 you can see the original movie clip for like .1 seconds
Loving the whole artstyle at 57:43
this was so slept on
Indeed
Yes
@Neo Hollow it kinda looks like spongebob in looney tunes
Same thing , is is IS SO BEATIFUL
22:57 i love this part
If spongebob was anime
Watching this really is hitting me hard. Seeing all these artist and voice actors work on something that made all of our childhoods memorable is getting me. I’m writing this right at the shell city scene right where I got emotional as a kid. Damn. Y’all guys are hitting my emotions.
It's so great that people would do something like this to honor Stephen Hillenburg, I can already tell that this will be amazing. Thumbs up to everyone who was involved 👍
Spong
So impressed at all the different animation styles, and 7:21 looks like it was straight out of the movie! Fantastic job to everyone involved!
Also, 42:23 has an amazing animation style and I'd love to see a full show animated like that.
Right? i was like, Wait isn't that the movie? haha
looks like if the movie was made today
@@confusious4034 Looks good for something that was made "today".
I did it. I did it guys. I'm almost finished with the whole thing. (hence skipping) I'm at 1:04:55
Absolute masterpiece. A love letter to not only Spongebob but Stephen Hillenburg himself. Everyone did SO much from recreating amazing scenes to making music to the live action segments of it all. You all deserve a medal for making this. The Voice Actors while not perfect portrayed the characters beautifully and you could tell they cared a lot about this production on every end. YOu all did just an amazing and wonderful job and deserve every view. Rest in Peace Stephen Hillenburg. I'm sure you'd be proud of this.
agreed
:>
57:46 I gotta give props to whoever made this scene. It looked so smooth like in one of the official movies.
Piti Yindee made that scene!
ikr, plus the dude is actually portrayed as an cyclops
Probably my favorite animated clip from this entire reanimate
28:31 also looks super smooth
It almost looks like Peepers from Wander over Yonder (also portrayed by Tom Kenny)
1:12:50 to 1:12:55 actually shook me enough to tears. What a faithful homage to Hillenberg and his supremely talented crew by dedicated, creative minds who came to love this franchise in our own ways.
7:12 looks like an actual episode the animator is so talented
They had to make the gloves a different color just to distinguish it from the original movie
ya'll have any more of them fan made movies worth the watch ?
