Nice review. I recently made some of the Mangrove Jacks mixed berry cider and did not put in any sweetener at the end. I thought I liked a dry cider but found it distracted from the taste as there was no sweetness at all (my bad). Also, even though it looks very clear when moving the bottle from storage to the fridge, there is some sediment at the bottom. Still, looking forward to getting the next brew right.
Thanks @JM. Glad you got a good brew. Fair call on the sweetness - it is a personal preference and it is all about getting it where you like it. For the clarity, there will always be a very small amount of sediment in your bottle if you are using priming sugar or carb drops. There is a secondary fermentation process in your bottles to create the carbonation which creates the small amount of sediment. When you place the bottles in the fridge try and have them standing up. I also never pour the last 1cm from the bottle. You will find that your first glass will be really clear and good, the second glass pretty good but a little cloudy. Cheers, Russell.
