Am working on preparing myself to do genealogy professionally as my post-retirement job. I completed the BU course and received my certificate in December and will be attending both GRIP and IGHR this summer. It is good to hear your perspective on this.

I love it when you said you are unique and how important it is to recognize turning your uniqueness into something special. Strong inspirational words. I was just offered a speaking gig this morning and I need to just do it as my brother says.

I think I had to struggle the first few times, but looking back I was making a big deal out of nothing. And my first lecture was at a national conference. I was replacing someone who had to bow out.

Great topic, considering Genealogy as second career as enter the next phase of life

Lots of things to do to prepare for that to make sure that you have the bases covered.

Just beginning to prepare and soaking up all the information I can get. Ordered books, reading the standards, the Proof, and listening to webinars. What conference and/or Institute would you recommend as a first one for preparing for the BCG certificate? Any other gems are appreciated. Will look at your next TH-cam presentation on the 5 legged stool!

If I were doing it, I would take the Intermediate Course at IGHR and then the next year take the Advanced Course. If you can get into them. The registration is incredibly short, given how quickly they fill up. At the same time, I would look to the Intermediate and Advanced courses at the Salt Lake Institute.

Too slow. Not a professional video. Not focused well.

Then I guess it is not for you. Thanks for your feedback.
