I have about 100 stamping plates, mainly from Maniology & MoYou London, and probably 70% of them I purchased for just one single image lol But admittedly, I do find use to other images in those plates. Rarely I'm like - nope, hate everything here except this one image.
I’m new so I don’t even have a full year’s plates from manixme. I’m sure once I have plates for every season or holiday I won’t need the subscription. Being new, it’s hard because I feel I’m trying to catch up
Hi Hillary-this totally hit home! I pretty much buy any plate with a plaid design and any St. Patrick’s Day/Irish plates even if there’s only one design I like. Oh and smiley designs too and cute Halloween ones and autumn designs, and…um, yeah, it’s my second obsession next only to nail polish collecting😂 Oh well, there are worse things to be addicted to.
Always cool to see other people's stamping plate collections! Though you did say you don't really have a ride-or-die plate, would be cool to see maybe your top 5 plates or something (whether you've used them or not hehe). I really need to drag mine out and start using them. >
I'll have to show it off soon! I bet it's not a you problem when it comes to stamping, I've found that some polishes and stampers and plates just don't play well together and it's frustrating when that happens!
Omg I love that color you have on! Also that’s so funny that you’ve never used the ouija plate, that’s my most used one lol! In my defense it was one of my first two plates, and those were all I had for a while. I think it’s pretty reusable because of the moon and sun images, I use the clouds and stars as backgrounds a lot
The polish you are wearing is beautiful on you. I love that color! Yes, I have bought plates for one image, only but like you said it was mostly the smaller round or square plates.
My late dad loved frogs 🐸 he collected ornaments specifically for the garden I have bought plates for a few images and have used them and got to like the other images
I have bought SO many plates for just one image. However, I bought pretty much all of them on Aliexpress, usually for around 70 or 80 cents, lol. So I'm not feeling too guilty. I tend to have a pretty clear idea of what I want and then try to find an image on one of my stamping plates that matches, instead of having a single stamping plate inspire a mani. The plates I really have no idea how to use are those plates that just have one gigantic image with different shapes and textures in them, like some of the Moyou Zodiac and Fairytale plates. I just can't work with those. I need to have distinct, separate images.
One of the first plates I got from a big brand was a Moyou plate and I think it was one of those massive image type ones. I think they work well if they're abstract because you can use it as a cool background or something but when it's like actually a big image (like a forest or something like that) I never know what to do with them.
I think I've mostly avoided buying plates for just one image, though I definitely own plates where I would only use couple of the images. I do try to be think carefully about each plate purchase, because reusability is indeed something you don't always think about. I don't have any good tips about it, but I suppose the easiest would be to just change the colors when you want to use the same image again. Maybe even try a different technique (gradient stamping, reverse stamping, layered stamping etc). It can be hard to be creative at first, but I feel the more I stamp the better I get at thinking of new ways to use an image. Someone mentioned that it would be cool to see more of your stamping plate collection and I agree. As I've gotten more into stamping, I really want to see other people's favorite plates and techniques. Helps me to become more creative and it's just interesting to watch.
I join the 6month Maniology subscription last year and have picked up a couple plates for one or two imagies. I like doing stamping but find I really don't use them much, think I need to try it again. Thanks for another good video. I have picked up a few Northern MI polish from Traverse city thru destashes, nice polish.
I have taught myself to rotate plates and use images from multiple plates and I do the same with polish. I make a planned intention to use different polish and plates for each mani. I have bought some plates for one design but, again force myself to utilize them for another mani. Once into that routine it gets easier. All this to say I have also used the same plates a few times but again intentionally.
I own like 30 stamping plates and probably 50% of them serve only a seasonal or one design purpose. Also, totally enabling you here if your boyfriend likes frogs: the maniology M303 stamping plate is all frog themed!

Stamping really intimidates me but the results are so good!

I can't do stamping to save my life.
P. S. It would be cool to see your entire stamping collection. Living vicariously : (

There are so few plates with any Godzilla that I definitely buy just for him.
I feel like that's a totally justifiable reason!
Fun video again, Hilary. “Brain image” I saw coral and the artist Keith Haring. Isn’t it funny 😁
I knew you were going to say Gudetama! It's such a mood. 😂
Right! I used to teach in Japan and some of the other teachers called me Gudetama Sensei because all my stationery was Gudetama themed lol
@@MediocreManis That's so cute!

It's such a cool plate but I just keep telling myself save it for halloween for some reason haha
I have never bought a stamping plate but I have looked at them and I will 100% buy one for one image if I find the perfect gingerbread man image.
The polish you are wearing is beautiful on you. I love that color! Yes, I have bought plates for one image, only but like you said it was mostly the smaller round or square plates.
Thanks, it's Color Club Anything But Basic! They have some awesome neons.

That's so sweet!

The plate says FUN 10 and it's by the brand Fab Ur Nails

I've been wanting to do a stamping video soon, I just need to set aside some time!

I love stamping but I always put off doing it because it's so messy!

That's smart, I should try to do a rotation as well!
omg i'd love you extra if you could provide the full name of that sanrio plate, i NEED it. i. NEED. IT.
The plate says FUN 10 and it's by the brand Fab Ur Nails
I haven’t done this yet, but I’m sure I will eventually. Just bought my first plate from PPU
Ooh good luck on stamping!
I just bought one plate because it has the perfect mermaid scales
I'm trying to break that habit. Especially with PPU cause $15 for 1 plate is alot.
omg yeah $15 is crazy for a plate! I only pay that kind of money for a plate if it's like super niche and I like most of the designs.
I own like 30 stamping plates and probably 50% of them serve only a seasonal or one design purpose. Also, totally enabling you here if your boyfriend likes frogs: the maniology M303 stamping plate is all frog themed!
omg I hadn't seen that one yet! That's definitely a must have
Haven’t we all?
I did that as well😂😂i have 500 and more🤦♂️🙈🙈🤷♂️
