I think this could be a "cover" for having to provide ID to access social media regardless of your age, and thus anonymity would be impossible. This would impact on free speech, expression and possibly even journalism. It's quite clear that Austrlia is becoming more and more Authoritarian.

@@alexfagyas9342 man, your really lost on this, different parts of the world look at things differently, it doesn't make them right or wrong, do I think children should have access to that material, oh god, not at all, but that's something that can happen all over anywhere, because all it takes is to click " yes I over this age" so this will even protect children from that. Since they would have to actually possess ID, so the ability to see that material is even more so in the hands of the parents. As the parent would be the only way they could gain access to that material. Same with thing as we have now with alcohol, tabacoo, tattoos, and R rated movies. Here's another solid point if a child is being malnourished, beaten, and abused, you want the government to step in and take the kids away from the parents allowing and doing it correct? Well that means your already ok with what your now complaining about, simply put, anyone can be a parent, it's the easiest thing on the planet to become, but not everyone is actually capable of "being" a parent.
