YES-YES, I WANT TO BE THE RAT-RAT! Seriously though, I think there will need some balancing. Champion or legend would be good, but the special's health bars should be separated in versus to balance it for pvp
I do hope they get around to adding the versus mode in the game so players can also be the skaven ( I especially hope that they will add the bestigor since there is a beastman expansion if possible)
I think it should be similar way to L4D - if you cater only to the top difficulties you leave out a significant portion of the player base. Not everyone plays Cata. Ideally, you segment the player base so you don't end up with issues like in WoT
I always thought the game seemed set up for pvp. Hunger in the dark is a payload map. Convocation is a king of the hill map. It seems like it would be fun to fight for an objective rather than just get to the end of the map alive.
Im cautiously hyped for Versus. It could be good, or could become like Weaves Mode. I hope that at minimum, if Versus do not become that good of a game mode, at least it doesnt get the same fate as Weaves.
im really excited for this but im also super curious how gear will work in it the joy i have to finally play a skaven in any other game besides total war is immense
I will always love you for coining the term "glicky". I always chuckle remebering it everytime a watch a vid of yours or playing bounty hunter. "Pull out my glicky"😂
I recently started playing this game because the versus mode was announced. Probably, they should standardize all perks and items, otherwise, it would be a nightmare to balance. Regarding difficulty, they need to create a custom one based on Veteran or Champion, with buffs to the other team-controlled specials and elites (such as increased speed, health, damage, and possibly new attacks).
one od the more intersting things (regardless of if it's a good idea or not) would be if skaven would have own gear. maybe not to the degree of the ubers5, skaven would only have one weapon slot after all, but it would be interesting to see what kind of gear stats there would be for them
What I wonder is how ranger veteran's ultimate is gonna work. I think it could be extremely OP if made right but could be countered by like a globadier
I mean, he pops the ultimate, kills you, now he has 90 seconds or (63 if he's running blend in) where he can't pop his ultimate and kill you, so you kill him then. Seems pretty balanced already
I f*cking despise PVP games, but I always had a fond memory of LFD2's versus mode, almost like it was in a different category of PVP for me. It was just so fun. I feel like if there's any studio that can replicate what Valve did, then Fatshark could do it. Unlike certain other money grabbing games have... *COUGH* Back for Blood *COUGH*
I know there are some worries from the community about the toxicity that versus might being, but I'm hyped. Unlike weaves, I don't think this mode will split the community. The type of player that enjoys versus compared to co-op are generally different. My hope is it will bring more people into the game and help to build the player base.
If versus isn’t its own dedicated mode then the easiest way to resolve this would be to make a checkbox when you choose a mission to decide whether or not to allow invaders. Invaders could either choose their preferred difficulty and matchmake or browse lobbies.
A bit really nervous as a WS main! We kind of get enough hate already, and add on "0 skill aimbot ult" in a versus setting would just make things worse.
I don't care what fatshark does on versus, the modded community will pick it up and find a way to make impossible gamemodes, I just hope we will be able to control monsters..
why would it have to be limited on one difficulty level? too much work for the devs? Dont know if I need a versus mode. Just really started getting into Legend in the last months. been playing since the extremly long beta phase. on and off that is. Definetly a good Idea to work on something like that. Honestly: among Deep rock galactic, Darktide and Vermintide: Vermintide is easily my favorite! So yes, please keep the game alive!
I think everyone is vastly overthinking this. The way I see it, either they basically make a 1 to 1 copy of L4D's versus and it will be a fun side game, or try to put some kind of spin to it and mess it up entirely and we'll have another weaves on our hands. Either way, making it cata only would be a terrible idea, because the majority of the player base doesn't play cata. The elites might not be getting one shot, but that will hardly matter when 90% of the players won't even manage to get past the first horde. Either make it veteran or champion with the challenge coming from getting outplayed by specials who do more than just beeline towards you with a big neon "shoot me" sign on them, or make it cata and put a huge skill barrier on versus to cater to a minority. And I do mean a minority, there are times when you can't even find a cata lobby
Maybe because vermintide 2 still pulls in almost as many people as darktide (and sometimes more people than darktide) and is worth maintaining and developing content for. I'm not even making that up, Darktide and Vermintide 2 had about even player counts until october, when darktide got the class rework and some extra content. It far exceeded Vermintide 2's player count despite it also getting a new update, since Darktide's update was free, but the player numbers are already nosediving back down. Also they're still working on darktide at the same time. They don't need to pick between one and the other, you know.
I just love that Darktide is not a sequel or replacement, and that both games are still relevant
Same! Though I wonder if it goes well for V2, if they'll bring it to darktide eventually

Yeah, I think L4D did something similar where specifically the tank has more health in versus. Very interested how they approach the balance
Im hoping for a big balance in weapons with this update!
With the amount of team damage I take I thought vs mode was already implemented .
I do hope they get around to adding the versus mode in the game so players can also be the skaven ( I especially hope that they will add the bestigor since there is a beastman expansion if possible)

I agree wholly. Versus is a very casual, fun mode as is.

Can't wait to be a sneaky lil rat :^)

I JUST WANNA BE A RAT , PLEASE GOD
Just add different types of VS. mode sub-categories and/or difficulties to cater to all of the player base. Too easy.

I just wanna play as a rat I don’t care about the pvp part I just wanna play skaven
Ngl I could see this coming to darktide sometime in the future, if the versus playtests go well with Vermintide.
I feel like it would make sense to use a point system especially because they have the books, which can act as big point targets, but still hold risk.
i keep having enemies behind me and they hit me once or twice without me knowing

I could definitely see WS being S tier in versus
I am very skeptical of Fatshark's ability to pull this off.
Currently difficulty is recruit, which I feel even for beginners is too low. It should at least be veteran imo
unrelated to the video but could you please do a zealot build :)) i don’t see a lot of recent videos on the career!!

We need cross play and a next gen upgrade. Id be way more excited for that.
I CAN DIE SOOOON
I would not compare your lobbies, as in cata lobbies, with lobbies normal people play ... pretty sure most are on veteran
Great news
Back4Blood was such a disappointment in both pve and pvp, please FatShark, let yourselves be inspired by L4D2 for pvp, your pve being already toptier.

UH
Why are fat shark working on a over 5 year old game rather than helping their new game darktide actually get some traction are a shit start
