- In this vlog I am showing for the first time renovations inside of my house, the old school of Östra Ljungby in Sweden. I am turning a few rooms into a new guest apartment that will be ready by summer. And I start this series by showing how I am renovatin the old doors by removing the paint from the doors and treat it with linseed oil.

22:40 The final result
Using linseed is an old tradition in Sweden, and it prolonges the life of the wood, preventing it from drying out and cracking up and protecting it from moisture. It's used as paint (oil mixed with pigments), cleaning products and protective treatment for both wood and metal and much more. An example is linseed soap that I use to clean the hardware in this video. It's mostly used as a combined cleaning product/protective/dirt reppellent/brightening treatment for wooden floors. Floors treated like this are called "skurgolv" which literally means scrub floors because you used to clean the floors with a scrub and the linseed soap. I will use linseed products for painting kitchen, windows and furniture, oiling doors, skirting boards and door trims, waxing thresholds and probably kitchen bench and of course treat the floors.

Stunning door resto, well done!
Thank you 🥰😁
Great job! Again: I learned a lot. Greetings from cologne Andy
Heat the broken screw with a soldering iron. After it cools use pliers to unscrew.
Thanks, I dont have one yet but now I have a reason to add this to my collection 😆😇
Absolutely love this restoration 😊 good job
Thank you :-)

Brilliant point 🤩
That was some addictive watching. Thank you!
I am glad I can be of service ;-) I am going to fix my windows soon, I think that restoration will be as fun to watch :-)
You are doing a wonderful job. What you could try to blend the colour of the infills that you make for your doors, is soak them in a strong solution of black coffee or tea, let dry and try the linseed oil on a trial piece first. You might find it works well, and is all natural. Best wishes from Australia ps just discovered your vlogs, now binge watching!! Love them all!!
That's a great idea!
Nice job !
Thanks
Beautiful !
Isn't it?
Beautiful work. I think you should wear a mask when sanding. Especially indoors. Keep safe.
I try to remember, but there is no led in the paint at least 😁
Learned a new trick from you about how to remove those small nails!
That's awesome! I really ruined the wood around the holes before I figured it out 😄
They look amazing!
Thank you 🙏
