I absolutely love the lightheartedness and upbeat comedy. In this day and age, we need more of that positive energy than negative depression . Thank you for this! Made my day. You two are fun to watch and outnumber the haters☺
I've visited this town several times over the last 30 years...stumbled across it while hiking an abandoned railroad line, looking for antiques and artifacts...got some good ones, too. Perhaps the closing of the railroad line contributed to the town's demise. Forty years ago, this is where most circus animals came from...they were bred here. I have an old advertisement for them that was given to me by a ringmaster at the circus at the Illinois State Fair in the mid-70's. Ten years ago, the ancient gas pump was still standing at the abandoned gas station. Twenty years ago, the buildings hadn't been boarded up yet and I explored to my heart's content. I got some good photos, too, but I don't know how to post them. The place looked like it had been deserted for 70 years even then; the drug store still had a wooden Cigar Store Indian standing just inside, and the hardware store still had cans of paint on the shelf. Another store still had "Harness and Leather Shop" neatly painted on the window, which makes me think it had been closed for a very long time.
Just now finding these older posts. All of them are really interesting. Now Ive got something to watch between you new one.Thank you.Miss Voltage is totally adorable
6:23, O-Oh my gosh…IS THAT AN ORB WEAVER SPIDER!!!!???? THATS SO COOL!!! MAN, YOUR SO LUCKY TO SEE ONE IN PERSON ADAM!!!! Heh! Sorry, I really love spiders! ^_^
MaryStewart These children like to call people "jealous" if you don't fall down in awe of some inappropriately dressed girl. Little kiddies and their fantasies . . .
3:02 , pegboard? really Adam.... That is wood lathe ... before there was drywall you put up lathe and plastered over it.. Is this Sanford , Kissimmee or Apopka? 09:33 "creepy hooks?" ,, used to support fire suppression/sprinkler system pipes.
Max Brandt The whole town isn't abandoned. They were careful in shooting this. There have always been abandoned buildings in Center Hill. There are also plenty of residents. Those buildings in this video are owned by people I know. I grew up right behind the building at 1:12 Most of the buildings in this were used on and off till the 80's. Center Hill used to be a bustling city and up until the late 30's was an agricultural mecca. The string bean and citrus capitol of the US in those days. They used to ship tons of stuff. When adam says "keep going there's no gas" there is literally a gas station behind him a half a block. It's a tiny town nowadays. Two convenience stores and a DG. Two of those buildings were offices of my grandmother's back in the day!
Where they are saying there used to be a gas station I think is wrong as well. I think that's where a sign used to stand. I think it was a tiny motel or something. It was two story and right up near the sidewalk. People lived in it until not too long ago. Right behind it was an old one room jail from about a hundred years ago. THAT was creepy and cool to check out. Part of why I love abandoned places and watch a lot of these videos is because I grew up exploring OLD buildings around Center Hill, Webster, and the area.
I agree with the shopping malls taking a hit, just check out the abandoned malls videos. The problem with malls are they are all the same stores and stuff no matter where you go. I try to support local business too. We need to bring back Main Street in America. No chain stores. The concept of a town is almost gone. No one knows their local merchant anymore.
The slatted wall was what they did at the turn of the century. It was usually covered with a plaster mixture that had horse and human hair as a binder in it. It was a thick plaster that was applied to the wall. The thing hanging in the tree was a street light.
I was wondering the same thing, but from what I've seen, a lot of homeless get out during the day and go back to places like this at night or whenever they want to sleep.
Writer Spider, the "W" weaving tells it all. Harmless but no less creepy. :) I battle them all the time here in TN. I've had much bigger on my farm. :D
Center Hill. It's located a few miles North of Hwy 50 between I-75 and the Turnpike. While the downtown is abandoned, the rest of the town is still functional.
Center Hill, in the middle of the last century, was the "center" for all the farming in the region. As the farming was marginalized and the other towns (Leesburg to the North, Orlando to the East and Haines City to the South) grew, the population of Center Hill probably dwindled. The businesses were overshadowed by bigger businesses in the other towns. Also, the construction/expansion of nearby highways (like the turnpike) caused a lot of the traffic to divert away from the area. Even today, HWY 50 is still just two lanes in that area. A lot of "small town" USA has followed this pattern over the last 70 years. Many of the towns along the original Route 66 dwindled and/or were abandoned as it was replaced by interstates. Unless I misunderstood your question. If you meant: "Why did they leave it all standing?" I'm guessing because the local municipality simply didn't see the sense in paying for demolition. Probably hoping a developer would come along to make an offer.
Forgot to mention, -the remains of that old gas station are now gone. Probably someone offered to level it in exchange for the scrap metals they could extract from it. A lot of old, abandoned buildings are starting to get demolished as the scrap metal in them (plumbing, wiring) becomes more and more valuable.
The hooks in the greenish room were holders for pipes. It was more than likely a building where things were manufactured. Also, the thing hanging in the brush was a streetlight in be back of a car park in very bad condition.
At 9:37 that thing on the wall with the red dye in it is an exauste air flow meter, It measures the amount of negative air pressure or vacume in spray booths and/or clean room type areas that require fresh air circulation and filtration. Any idea what that building used for? Was the whole area abandoned? Keep up the vids! Thanks!
Not a cockroach, but a Palmetto Bug. Those eggs are probably on the stairs due to the abundance of Fish Crows you can hear in the background. The spider is a Golden Silk Spider. Very common in Florida.
@6:29 That nasty spider, although they are not venomous and very rarely, if ever, bite...they used to scare the holy hell out of me when i was a kid. Like...really really bad.
Was there an old movie theater? That would be ultra cool! If you could find a print of the silent film, "London after Midnight" you could retire for the rest of your life!
FYI, the spider at 6:29 is a Black and Yellow Garden Spider, as far as I can tell. During some of the video it sounded like lawn mowers in the distance, so I guess the whole town wasn't abandoned?
The town in this video is not abandoned as he would have you believe! The town is Center Hill Fla. It is not abandoned at all, back in the 20's or 30's it was known to be the bean town of The world. Now it's just a small town that has seen it's better days. And people still live there the biggest industry around there is limerick mining. Or a meat processing plant. Otherwise there is nothing else available for a job,. Since it is located close to larger towns it is a nice place to live instead of being in a big town
the fun and joking around is ok but i think it takes alot away from your actual exploration in the vids with just you you do a lot more narration about where you are and what exactly your doing etc which is why I enjoy watching exploration videos I really enjoy seeing so many differant places history and I feel saddened by the demise that each place has and its abandonement.
I absolutely love the lightheartedness and upbeat comedy. In this day and age, we need more of that positive energy than negative depression . Thank you for this! Made my day. You two are fun to watch and outnumber the haters☺
Light & fun is good.

MaryStewart These children like to call people "jealous" if you don't fall down in awe of some inappropriately dressed girl. Little kiddies and their fantasies . . .
+Albert Johnson Thank you! Peace on!😊
+Albert Johnson .." haven't said a cross word our way"
What's a 7 letter word for the male organ? J O H N S O N
So, a grown man hangs out with a hot punk chick and acts like he is 16.....and I'm amused

Is this Sanford , Kissimmee or Apopka?
09:33 "creepy hooks?" ,, used to support fire suppression/sprinkler system pipes.
Its always so sunny in your videos
That's Center Hill, I know the family that owns most of that town.
I love when they're together😂they're so funny!
so curious why was the whole town abandoned?
I live in Florida and have never heard of this place! It's very weird, must be somewhere outside of Orlando where most would never think to visit.
Max Brandt The whole town isn't abandoned. They were careful in shooting this.
There have always been abandoned buildings in Center Hill. There are also plenty of residents. Those buildings in this video are owned by people I know.
I grew up right behind the building at 1:12

cbthethird Well, I stand corrected!
Where they are saying there used to be a gas station I think is wrong as well. I think that's where a sign used to stand. I think it was a tiny motel or something. Center Hill Florida is not abandoned. Just the center/main street area has gone bye bye
Funniest recurring bit in his abandoned videos is saying "Hello" as if expecting someone to say. "Oh hey, come on in!"
I grew up right there. Its been looking like that for decades.
I wonder about these places. Where was this and why and when was it abandoned?
Thank you for teaching me the word Zany! (Its in the intro song) Always happy to learn a new word, as I am a poet.
Between Miss Voltage and Beth Vandal you sure are blessed to hang out with easy on the eye ladies.
Holy smokes, "Miss voltage". I had to pour water on my head and it sizzled, like in the old cartoons.
Woo... If I were in your shoes, I doubt I would have gotten much exploring done... I'd have been spending more time hitting on Miss Voltage...
RIP James Garner. Jim Rockford will certainly be missed. There was sure some nice office furniture there.
wow she's gorgeous. awesome video. didn't know there was an abandoned town so close to me.
Are those even pants? I'm not complaining but, jeez!
Aww, Horse Apples!!! LOL

3:02 that is Lathe. It is what is underneath plaster.

I like these kind of videos.
"Do you ever encounter bums in these videos?"..."Just you"....Apply cold water to the burn area.
no people to bum off...usually means no bums....sorry
I was wondering the same thing, but from what I've seen, a lot of homeless get out during the day and go back to places like this at night or whenever they want to sleep.
The bicycle cap...foreshadowing of the bicycle/slide encounter!
5:30 that tree had more Knott's then Berry Farm Lol 😂😂
Your video about abandoned house is amazing.
Writer Spider, the "W" weaving tells it all. Harmless but no less creepy. :) I battle them all the time here in TN. I've had much bigger on my farm. :D
WHY do people have to destroy things? Never ceases to amaze me...Anything left abandoned suddenly becomes theirs to screw up.
Whenever I'm down & feel like committing suicide, I just watch Adam The Woo, and then I feel happy again & life is new :)
9:14 Vickie's SSN is on that form!
Good to know this business was careful with personal information
Where in central fla. was this? What was the name of the town?
Center Hill. It's located a few miles North of Hwy 50 between I-75 and the Turnpike. While the downtown is abandoned, the rest of the town is still functional.
Thank you, I might check it out. Why did they leave the down town?
Center Hill, in the middle of the last century, was the "center" for all the farming in the region. 3:00 Adam, that looks like lath from an old plaster and lath wall, depending on how old the structure might've been.
AWESOME Vlog blog and tons of wonderful thingssss :-)
The hooks in the greenish room were holders for pipes. It was more than likely a building where things were manufactured.
Also, the thing hanging in the brush was a streetlight in be back of a car park in very bad condition.
Oh man. I hate bugs. :c
I hate that you showed that decapitated beetle/bug. I hate alive and dead bugs.

I'd love to know too. I know a few people who'd love to live there
did you tag it in one of the abandoned rooms?
If all the non-functioning taps Adam has ever turned on suddenly...worked, the U.S. is going to become one huge lake!! 😄
At 9:37 that thing on the wall with the red dye in it is an exauste air flow meter, It measures the amount of negative air pressure or vacume in spray booths and/or clean room type areas that require fresh air circulation and filtration. This town must have been great back then when it was flourishing.
Not a cockroach, but a Palmetto Bug. Those eggs are probably on the stairs due to the abundance of Fish Crows you can hear in the background. The spider is a Golden Silk Spider. Very common in Florida.
Great video Adam the woo
9:31 those hooks were probably used to hold up the duct work. Great video!

@6:29
That nasty spider, although they are not venomous and very rarely, if ever, bite...they used to scare the holy hell out of me when i was a kid. Like...really really bad.
