  • Animated series based off of the Playmates action figure toyline. The show has become a victim of Keep Circulating The Tapes.
Thirteen episodes were produced in total. All thirteen were aired on Saturday morning television, but only the first four episodes were ever released onto home media, on VHS tapes included with figures in the toyline.
Unfortunately, the credits in these VHS releases had a voiceover in them, meaning that the only way to see the credits without the voiceover is to have recorded the episodes off of its initial television run. Special thanks to “RetroCCN” for providing the credits footage.
As for the show itself? It’s essentially two teams of anthropomorphic animals (who fail to be funny) essentially waging war on each other. Each episode focuses around the two teams trying to complete the same goal, and arguing which team could best complete the goal. Meanwhile, the teams embark on journeys that show the past between the two, showing that “awwwwwww, the pigs and rams really WERE friends before this brawling started”.
Unfortunately, my description of this show makes it seem more interesting and fun than it is. Both teams constantly end up at stalemates throughout each episode, because they end up doing literally the exact same things on their journeys. The humor isn’t funny, the animation is choppy and riddled with errors, and combining that with the strict guidelines that scriptwriters faced when it came to violence/weaponry in these 1980’s cartoons, it makes this show one of the most boring and stale cartoons I’ve ever had to sit through. I can only be glad that I didn’t want to physically vomit while watching it, compared to the movie “Warriors Of Virtue”.
The theme song is the best part about this show, TRUST ME.
