Everyone can learn a lesson from Jason. Always place your light modifier over the highest leg of c-stand.

I rock a couple heavy velcrow ankle weights to help keep the light stand upright. Found the ankle weights were cheaper then sand bags and more versatile because of the velcrow

The sandbags if using an umbrella diffuser are crucial. I don't like lugging them around, but without them the setup usually falls over.

Jason, I urge you to embrace hard light. It looks really great on younger models, and you don't need to have the flash so close. They are also sturdier on the flash head and won't get blown over. I embrace the light. The Zoom reflector is my favorite.

When using an extension head, I like to super clamp my strobe near the bottom of the light stand. The strobe body plays double duty as a light source and a stand weight.

@@michaelbell75 I used to carry bags with me. Then stopped and started using my cart atop one of the legs as a weight. Then got the extension head and stopped doing both for the most part.

After my first session and carrying all my gear I decided to buy me a cheap $40 collapsible wagon from Walmart and it's been the best $40 I spent. I've been using nothing but godox lighting and I first started out with an ad200 and then picked up a second one and the dual head attachment so I can turn it into a 400 w . And after teaching myself off camera flash and continuing to get better I picked up two AD600. But from when I started to now my gear has changed.
    My OfC gear:
    1. Trigger plus spare trigger
    2. Two heavy duty stainless steel light stands just normal ones no c stands. I keep my c stands for indoors
    3. Two strobes and a 3rd for back lightning or fake golden hour
    4. Chimera compact boom arm same as the Cambo rd-1105 it's so easily adjustable you can use two fingers to raise it up and down and any angle you want
    5. Glow parasnap 36 inch & 24 inch softboxes with grids
    6. Sand bags
    7. Collapsible wagon
    8. 7 inch Bowens reflector with gels
I do so many high school senior portraits sessions this is my best setup that I can set up and take down very quickly. Those glow soft boxes are so quick to open up it takes 3 seconds. And you're always going to so many different locations during the session it cuts down on my setup times great video your photos are beautiful

I am not a pro but get a nice mathews wheeled stand. If too much, Avenger is a bit cheaper and now Flashpoint (Adorama) has cheaper options too. Much much better than wheels on any C-stand. And with Godox strobes I can't go without using the remote heads. No need for any sand bags and strobes sits down low to the ground. People spends $$$ on lenses, cameras and then cheap out on the grip gear.
