    I'm applyig for the GMiM program. The last thing I'm stuck with is the GRE/GMAT before I apply, so its good to know that it does not take precedence over the other categories in your application :)

      Yes, you must have proof of your English abilities. The exact requirements vary by program, but usually a satisfactory score on IELTS or TOEFL or the completion of a previous degree taught in English would satisfy the requirement.

    Can you tell what kind of experience do business schools especially LBS look for? Do they need to be something closely related to MBA stuff or can be even experience of working in software companies, etc? And of how many years?

    • @MenloCoaching
      @MenloCoaching  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      MBA programs are open to many types of pre-MBA experience, even including jobs that are almost entirely unrelated to the MBA, such as being a classroom teacher or a military veteran. The important part is to be able to connect your previous experiences to a logical post-MBA job. As you'll see in the class profiles, students at most top MBA programs have between 4 and 6 years of (full-time post-university) experience upon enrollment in the MBA.

    What if you have never had an interaction with students and alumni from LBS? What should you answer on the 4th topic? Anybody know an online way for a foreigner to have that kind of interaction?

    • @MenloCoaching
      @MenloCoaching  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! First, LBS has a student ambassadors page (just Google for "LBS student ambassadors") where you can request a conversation with an LBS student. Second, you could identify LBS students by searching on LinkedIn and send them a polite note asking to chat.

    I am 40 plus a banker with 17 years experience.What are my chances of getting an admit if I get a good enough score IN GMAT

    • @MenloCoaching
      @MenloCoaching  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the past, the paper brochures handed out at London Business School showed target age ranges in the appendix and 17 years of experience is above what was indicated for the full-time MBA. London Business School would almost certainly prefer to see you apply to an executive program because of your 17 years of experience.

    I am doing CA(Chartered Accountancy) in Pakistan. There is a required article of 3.5 years along with 8 papers to get my CA qualification. Will these 3.5 years be considered as experience while applying to LBS or any top-notch Business School?
    Waiting for your reply.
    Thanks in advance.

    • @MenloCoaching
      @MenloCoaching  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am not familiar with the tasks and responsibilities you might handle during your required article, so I am sorry to say that I can't give you a definite answer. You might search on LinkedIn for MBA students at LBS who were originally CAs from Pakistan and see what is typical for the length of their work experience.

    is it probable that someone with 2 and a half years of work experience full-time and 3 yers part-time gets into? considering a good academic profile and good languges skills in different languages gets in?

    • @MenloCoaching
      @MenloCoaching  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In most years, the least experienced student in the London Business School full-time MBA class would have 3 years of full-time post-university work experience. Whether you could be admitted with slightly less experience depends on your exact profile.

    • @MenloCoaching
      @MenloCoaching  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. It depends on many factors such as your current employment, your career goals, and how you might finance the degree. In general, a full-time MBA carries higher prestige and enables larger career pivots. A part-time MBA can be an attractive option if you are already based in London and trying to advance within the industry where you already work.

      @@weehe6815 Both are valid. Impossible to give a firm recommendation outside of a real engagement where we get to know you. In general, people who get a lot of value from MiM programs include ones who didn't study business but find themselves wanting to pursue a business career, or people who use it to relocate. If you get an MiM, you can still get an MBA after years of experience. The two degrees are very different.

    How important are undergraduate scores.
    I have a 710 GMAT , lots of extra courses , but average to slightly below average GPA.
    I have a great work experience, lots of extracurricular activities, entrepreneurial endeavours and leadership qualities.

    • @MenloCoaching
      @MenloCoaching  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This depends on many factors, such as the prestige of your undergraduate institution, the difficulty of your major, and the details of your work experience and other activities. It is certainly possible to be admitted with 710 and a slightly below average GPA if the rest of your profile is excellent.
