Regarding a leaf mulch; The best piece of equipment I ever bought for my garden was a Worx Leaf Mulcher. I double shred the leaves and put that on all my beds in the fall then use as plant mulch in the spring. It slowly breaks down, doesn't mat or hinder nutrients from rain. Tons of earthworms. They made a fantastic bed for potatoes. You can easily adjust the pH in early spring. Thank you for all your videos, from Rhode Island.
I’m working out in the garden and watching to catch up with you, I could use any tips to make things easier around here, I hope you are doing well. We put mulch down on the pathway this year. It is helping to keep down the grass/weeds.
I really enjoyed your explanation of different mulch options! Your broccoli looks great! I apparently grew mine for an aphid delicacy 😂
Thank you! I get it - many years my broccoli has fed the cabbage worms!

That sounds like a great option for a free sustainable mulch!

I hope your mulch works well to keep your paths clear! I’m with you, anything to cut down on garden work is so helpful!
While not fun for either of us, I'm glad I'm not the only one battling slugs on my seedlings. I bet i have seeded cucumbers and melons 6 times.
It’s definitely a struggle, especially this year! I’ve reseeded cucumbers and melons several times too this year.
