As always, really nice and thoughtful review! Really appreciate that you take the time to bring those new boats in a variety of environments before reaching your verdict. One of the first things I look for in a boat is capability in big water, and not all the reviewers out there have access (or are willing to go) to such a variety of rivers as you do. I just sent an email to Pyranha to ask them if they could get you a ReactR, I honestly think your reviews are some of the best and most informed out there.
Thank you. It definitely takes time and I appreciate everyone's patience. I am curious about the ReactR and the new outfitting. Hopefully they reach out
Great review, Alex!! I’ve been looking forward to your thoughts. I love that you take the time to truly learn and express very eloquently the nuances and performance of a boat. I’m loving my S/M Indra btw!! Well done.
Picked one up & been able to use it a few times & still learning it. Agree with the spinning out part. But everything else on it has been great. Review is pretty spot on
I agree completely on the weight. I also found it tended to stall a little on rolls if you get back. Shifting the seat back a little made a big difference for me. This and my SuperNova is a very fun combo.
I had no issues rolling the Indra. Mostly I was moving forward on the seat a little when i was worried it would run away on me. I found getting more stern dry worked well.
@@AlexBarham I like to steer in at the knees and transition some weight to the stern edge to finish in a carve - I found that putting the seat back a little made that work better, and since I have a pretty tall torso I'm able to get weight back over the bow when needed. It also seems to track a little better this way for me as well.
Thanks for this review. Have been eyeballing this boat and also the Jackson Flow. I know two different kinds of boat. But was wondering if you are going to do a review of the flow ? SYOTR
The best boat! But I'd take 10 lbs out if I could. I'm 5'11" and 170 lbs and my experience has been quite different than your notes from the review. Never felt like I didn't have enough tail, never spun out, don't have to paddle it like a creek boat. For me it is more like a half slice with bubble wrap but I did slide the seat back one click to make it track and hold a line better and make the bow super loose and easy to swing around. Only complaint is the weight but it doesn't feel too heavy on the water, only when carrying it. It feels like an M/L maybe even a Medium if I call it a creeker. Very confident in the Indra. Wearing through the Supernova-style edges quite fast on 15+ Green laps.
I'm wondering if someone 20 to 30 lbs heavier than you who loaded the stern more would have the same spin out issue..I'll let you know when I get mine that's coming in a week. Great review
Well yeah you put the same person in both then the small's stern would automatically feel more grabby... Moving the seat is an answer. Usually not the best, but it could work
What would you say is the weight cut off for sizes? I’m 175lbs, and my medium Code always felt a little bigger than I liked. Thinking I might prefer the S/M Indra.
I am more of a beginner kayaker. Just purchased a used Piranha Storm. I'm finding it is more challenging to roll and has a tendency to stand on its tail. Any thoughts?
@@AlexBarham I can put you in touch with Cooper if that helps. So far I've ordered 24 boats from him and absolutely love them. I'd love to hear your opinions as it stands against the steeze. Haven't paddled one yet so I really can't compare but I absolutely love my EXO Zion Sloan.
Cooper and I were in touch this spring, but I guess his supply was just a little tight for 2024. Hopefully he has a strong year and we can look at bringing them up.
I would love to. At this point the issue is getting access to one. If you want to shoot Pyranha a message and tell them what it would mean to you for me to have a boat for a review that might help it happen.
Great review! I paddled the s/m on the dryway and it felt way too big. I love the new dagger outfitting, especially in the nova. At 148lbs, I don’t weigh enough to drive the Indra the way it wants to be driven. Except for the flagship (medium code) all of my boats are small. I love my small code for mank and I love my small scorch for bigger water. I’m looking forward to trying the small ReactR. I wish Dagger made aftermarket outfitting for pyranha boats. Seriously, I’d pay $500 per boat to have all of my boats be as comfortable as my codes. Lib and I are stoked to see you and Hannah next week!
@@apexzero-three3216 try it with a booster seat pad, or two. I paddled two in all my boats for while. Compensating the short torso will give you a lot more leverage.

Great review as always. I appreciate the wipeout at the end. For what it’s worth, it’s nice to be reminded that even the better boaters are human too.
You're very welcome. I knew my day would come on Alpine Line eventually. Just glad I somehow didn't get hurt

Great review Alex. Thanks. Someone tell Dagger to get the Indra to the UK.

I wish more reviews included how they surf. Like carving on a variety of waves - slow - fast and plaining.
@@LeftCoast_TomP I always try to mention it, but as more boats have planing hulls more surf very well compared to the past.

I think rear loading would maybe make it worse. Tons of room for more weight lol
ive heard that the small medium version was a bit more grabby in the stern. I'm wondering if moving the seat forward will help solve that.

You will want the S/M
Knowing that you aren't a very big guy, would love to hear your thoughts if you ever a get a chance to try out the S/M.
My hope is to hop in one and basically do a stand alone quick hit.
When are we going to be able to get one in Europe
I'm shocked you don't already. Reach out to Palm/Dagger UK
Not that it's a direct comparison, but have you paddled/reviewed the Jackson Flow?

Part of your issue is that is quite an old boat. I would imagine your outfitting is lacking or non-existent
Are you gonna review the flow?
I would like to! Has just been a matter of access
