    I’m so scared about the food, I really didn’t want the catered halls😭

    • @NataliaKasten
      @NataliaKasten  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      honestly, I'm a picky eater and I grew up loving seasoning. It's not all bad just not the healthiest and what is healthy is often not great but yea wouldn't choose to go catered at DC again! (fyi other halls have better food [taste wise] i think it depends on the chef of your hall)

    hey i should be going to Loughborough , i was just wondering about the south asian community there? is there also a lot of diversity ?

    • @NataliaKasten
      @NataliaKasten  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would say yes there is a significant amount of south asian students but definitely less than you'd find in London for instance. There are also several societies to connect you to other south asian communities and you can also make connections through sports and your hall. Generally ethnic groups tend to stick together so once you find a group you tend to meet a lot of other connections. Hope that helps! x let me know if you have more questions

    Could you do a accomodation review of the different halls? I’m coming this year and I ended up with Cayley which was at the bottom of my list so I’m kinda worried

    Hi Natalia, could you please elaborate about the catered food quality and selection. I was considering applying to Elvyn Richards accommodation but your anecdotal experience is giving me doubts. Would you recommend skimping and just choosing a cheap hall like Falk egg?
    Thanks

    • @NataliaKasten
      @NataliaKasten  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elvyn is a nice hall, personally I didn't like the food at my hall but I heard the people who did went there did. It's kind of up to you whether you want to cook or not. Breakfast options were nice but I didn't enjoy too much my dinner options and we weren't catered for lunch (pretty sure elvyn is catered 3 times a day, very day). All that to say, you would get a better perspective to someone who went to Elvyn. Falk egg is also nice, any hall you're at you will enjoy it and if you don't you can switch a few weeks in. hope that helps

    How is the Caribbean and Black community like in Loughborough 👍🏿💯

    • @NataliaKasten
      @NataliaKasten  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jashan Francis they're probably the biggest minority in Loughborough and so there are quite a few societies such as the afro-caribbean society (acs) as well as l'afrik society (francophone afro-caribbean society) and specific societies for countries in Africa so I'm sure you'll find one you like! Also there are quite a few sports where you can meet black people as well and if you go to cogs in the union (a room with mostly grime and rap) you'll also find a lot of black people so trust me you'll have every opportunity to find people! Just be open and don't be afraid to try different things!

      @@NataliaKasten So their really isn't a diverse community in Loughborough

    • @NataliaKasten
      @NataliaKasten  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No there is, they're the biggest minority in Loughborough

    • @klaraberhami7967
      @klaraberhami7967 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its pretty decent I can't lie. but I think if you want to find ppl from similar background you have to be careful about accommodation you choose - the holt tends to have the biggest black community, a lot of people from London, Manny or Birmingham

    What’s the male to female ratio because online it says there way more males compared to females?

    • @NataliaKasten
      @NataliaKasten  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it really depends, I take psychology which mostly female-based so I see more women but in engineering, you do get a lot more men. Overall I'd say it's pretty even based on what I see when i go out to the union or around campus but yea idk the exact figures

    Heyyy I’m going here this September to study business management. Sucks that I got given David Collett but hopefully I’ll survive lol

    • @NataliaKasten
      @NataliaKasten  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      honestly it's really not all that bad and as long as you make your room homey and get along with your flatmates it's honestly great! and not too far from the library or lectures!

    • @NataliaKasten
      @NataliaKasten  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      also if you really really hate it you can move to a different hall after november/december usually when other people dropout or change halls too but you might not want to at that point haha

    • @sirmatt9527
      @sirmatt9527 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Natalia Kasten oh really, you know anyone who did that cus I’m really picky with food so I’m not sure if I’ll like what they serve lol. Tried to get into Claudia Parsons and Butler Court but that didn’t work out rip
