  • Marilou Lucido, owner of Alliyah's Transient House, in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, intervied in May 2013. It was nice to hear such success stories in the country. She worked as an OFW in factories in South Korea for three years and used P500,000 to build the homestay in her mother's land. Visit ambeaglestravel... for more of the 2 beagles, Maya and Pinky, adventure in the Philippines in 2013

    Such beautiful wonderful people. I have been to the Philippines twice. It is unfortunate that Filipinos that are their complexion are not displayed in the forefront like light skin Filipinos are. Their celebrities both leading men and women, their commercials, their talk shows, entertainment programs with singing and dancing, television soap operas, news anchor... the vast majority of them are all light skinned Filipinos. Why is that the case?

    • @infiltr80r
      @infiltr80r 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rich people were first of Spanish ancestry and more recently Chinese ancestry, that's why. Natives are darker skinned and have typically been poor. Think of it as having dirty/damaged hands in Europe or US - if you have dirty hands it means you work a physical job and most probably earn less, therefore are of lower status.

    This is how progress in any society is done... by starting your own business.
    Then as the market matures and gets saturated with thousands fighting for the reducing pie share, someone will evolve with a niche to win the saturated market and rise above the rest. Everyone follows and repeats the process until its too saturated again and then, once again, a few will evolve and rise above the rest.
    So, the process repeats and evolves until it becomes a part of the society's thinking. As the population gets really evolved, people out thinking one another is bound to create a highly evolved product and that soon becomes the most sought after product in the world.
    Most industrialized countries evolved this way. South Korea's phones are super evolved obviously, China's manufacturing system are highly evolved and unmatchable in any part of the world, USA comes out with new niche all the time like Facebook, TH-cam, Google, etc.. And USA's movies are undoubtedly highly evolved and seen all over the world that rake in billions of dollars per movie back into the country. Japan's high end technology are unmatchable by any society in the world. Germany's luxury cars are a niche by this country only and sought after by any person in the world. Italy's supercars are 2nd to none of any country. The USA, Japan, South Korea, etc.. are competing fiercely in the automobile market.
    Needless to say, all this highly evolved products from these countries make billions of dollars for their home country and creates jobs and indirectly sustains families of millions from the bottom ground employees up to the executive upstairs and all the way to the corporate heads.
    Then, here's where the Philippines play in this world game... Dried mangoes? Banana chips? Domestic helper?
    That's why Philippines need to stop sending out its population and start making market within and evolve and arise and win the global game. That dried mangoes and banana chips can evolve into unthinkable products.
    Besides , is there any wealthy country that has arised from sending out its population to wipe its bosses' kid's cracks?

      Hello Sir, can you help me to become a US citizen please? Because im planning to become US marines. I have my own savings to invest joining the marines.

    • @teeblue5735
      @teeblue5735 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      best thing to do is apply for a visa...pag pasok mo dito, then doon ka mag apply sa military...noong andyan pa ang base ng kano sa pinas...marami ang nakapag sign up sa US marines,army at navy dahil pwede mag take ng exam sa loob ng US Base dyan......
      mag apply ka muna ng tourist visa papunta dito,...pag nakarating kana dito,-...ang anak ko Senior recruiter sa US Marines--kayang kaya kitang ipasok......pero kailangan andito ka, dahil kailangan mong kumuha ng aptitude test, na kayang kaya ng lahat ng pinoy....madali ng kumuha ng visa papunta dito...basta wag mong sasabihin na may intention kang mag trabaho,kung mag apply ka ng tourist visa...pag dating mo dito, madali na ang lahat...kaya kitang ipasok sa Marines pag andito,which is easy na kumuha ng visa ngayon....

    • @mcjohnbolivar
      @mcjohnbolivar 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TEE BLUE OMG!! Thank you so much sir, may bayad poba kumoha ng tourist visa papunta jan? Kasi may pinag tanungan ako eh sabi nya kilangan ko kumoha ng working visa number 1 requirements is job contract sa US. Marami nga ako nakikita sa youtube na pinoy na nag tritraining sa marines nasa marines bootcamp..ingit na ingit ako gustong gusto ko talaga mag sundalo piro hindi dito sa pinas kasi grabe corruption..Meron naman po akong ipon galing sa trust fund ng tatay ko na retired seaman, invest ko yon para sa dream job ko..sana mag tagumpay ako..siguro mag papa fiesta samin pag malaman nilang nakapos ako sa US marines, my family will be so proud if, and its my privilege to die as a US marines..

    • @teeblue5735
      @teeblue5735 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      wag kang mag apply ng working visa sa states, mahirap na,doctor at engineer lang may chance,wag mong pabayaan matatakan ang passport mo ng deny sa working visa...... kung gusto mag apply ng working visa.....doon ka sa canada pumunta, isang oras lang dito...tourist visa, basta maka pasok ka lang dito, madali ng gawan ang ibang bagay---
      pag nag apply ka,wag mong ipapahalata na intention mong mag trabaho dito-- research mo,kung saan mo gustong pumunta..pag aralan mo....wag kang mag focus sa US lang..canada isama mo rin sa plano mo,dahil ang canada malakas din na bansa yun..mayaman din..maraming lupa doon...pag aralan mo..tanong tanong ka sa immigrants ,dahil iba ang immigrants sa OFW..pero nagumpisa kami as OFW......tandaan mo, ang plano mo ay maaring maging FOREVER...tulad ng ngyari sa akin at sa maraming immigrants na umalis nong araw para mag trabaho lang.,..ipon lang ng pera ang plano namin...pero andito pa rin ako.. for 35 yrs now.....ito lang ang payo ko pag umalis ka... ay ihanda mo ang sarili mo...dahil hindi mo mamamlayan ang panahon...pero pag ang salita sa panaginip mo ay ingles na at kalsada sa america or canada na ang nasa panaginip mo ?? kababayan ko...hinding hindi ka na makabalik sa pinas para tumira ulit permanently.--
      dahil emotionally trap ka na , at pag nagka anak ka pa dito ?? tapos na talaga....kano ka !! hahahahaha its what we call "bittersweet"
      malungkot na masaya
      pero mag tanong tano ka pa rin sa ibang immigrants.,ulit ulitin mo ang pag research...talagang buuin mo sa loob mo ang plano mo.... tapos put all the advise in your mind..maniwala ka..pag labas mo ng bansa, ihanda mo lagi sa isip at sarili mo na maaring wala ng balikan yan,....
      at ganyan ang naging buhay namin lahat kami....masakit at malungkot.....dahil pag nasa ibang bansa ka...pag ang pilipino sumigaw sa yo at humingi ng tulong...kababayan ko,kahit hindi mo sha kilala ,obligado kang tulungan sha....dahil wala ng ibang tutulong sa yo ng masisinanan kungdi ang sareili mong lahi....
      basta hangat bata ka,magplano ka ng umalis. kung yun ang gusto mo...wag middle east.... asintahin mo ang american continent--....kaya mo yan kababayan....goodluck

    I need your advice, as you know, I am hoping to move t the Philippines, I hop make the move in July this year. I just have few questions. When I do move to the Philippines I am going to need to open a business at some point i am looking at about a year’s time. I currently have a construction and handyman business here. I am thinking of doing the same thing there in the Philippines, or open and run a Pub depending on the cost and law of opening a pub. I don’t plan on living in the cities but on the out skirts of town, I plan to work for a year as I learn about the Philippines the law of opening the business and the ideal place to do so. As well to do the research, i understand that i will need a Filipino partner for the business as well.
    I have met a girl on line who is from the Philippines working in over sea’s
    My questions are.
    1. Would a construction and business be a good business to start and run there?
    2. Do you think I would be able to get a job that can pay me enough to live for a year? (I don’t plan on having a high cost of living or eat out a lot).
    3. What kinds of jobs are fairly easy to get?
    4. Where do you think is the best place to start in the Philippines? I was thing of Cebu.
    Thank you for your advice. I will have more questions as we go. I hope you don’t mind

      It's not that simple, as a foreigner it's very hard to open a business in the Philippines. Job wise, construction workers earn something like 6000-15000 pesos per month (less than $300), if you can survive on that...The real value is for English speakers who have serious IT skills.
