Hey Misty! I really love how you approach this kind of comment - with art, its sometimes easy to forget all the people behind the creation, like you said the, not just the painters and the sculptors, but the person who might see their own *real* child in that sculpt, as well as any real inspiration that goes in to a reborn. I'm sure I've read certain sculpts were modeled off of someone's own baby, or friends babies, and not to mention realborns!
I think your video serves as a great, gentle reminder. It's a great practice for those of us in online-heavy communities to take a moment and picture the real humans our words might hit
He is so cute ! And I love his knitted rattle and outfit ! ❤👶. You are a very good person , family ! Where I live sold again ! New owners Feb 1st . Not sure what's next here . But there is no housing open anywhere else . So we all (8 apts) stick together and take one day at a time ! One older man did move into senior housing this week . He lived here a long time ! But all places have a long waiting list for new tenants. 💕
That’s what happened to my daughter, they raised her rent on a 1 bedroom apartment to $1500 per month! The young man who was 40 years old lived in a apartment for 15 years and the owner sold it and they are all being evicted. I’m so sorry this is happening to you too! This world has gone crazy!
This was a nice presentation Misty. I agree with all you said. We all have different tastes in what we love to buy and collect. I like some sculpts better than others but I can honestly say that I have yet to see a sculpt that I actually do not like. You are a wonderful artist, Misty, and just today I was admiring my Ivan Alexander, Aiden Michael and Summer Sunshine....such gifts in my life. I feel sad when people say negative things and hurt other people's feelings. I even had someone comment on one of my reborns that she looked like a dead baby, it hurt me really bad and took me awhile to get over it, they also laughed and made fun of me for my collection. Thank you for your kindness and friendship Misty.

Everybody has an opinion, that's oké. I've teached my 4 children: if you have an opinion and it's negative, but it is not asked from you, why ventilate it. It adds nothing to the story. It's difficult I know. But there is enough negativity in the world. So with the dolls/ babies, someone will be very happy with it. If it's not for you, then leave it that way. Be happy for that person. You don't know the reason why it is bought. It can be so hurtfull.

I’m definitely not afraid to voice my opinions on certain subjects as long as it’s on the right platform and said very carefully. Not out to hurt others or offend but I also know that there will always be someone who gets offended by anything, no matter how it’s said. It always comes at a price. 💗
Misty, you are such a sweet, caring person to give of yourself to others when there is a need for shelter and food for these young people. I agree wholeheartedly that people should strive to be kinder to one another with their attitudes and comments. Not all of us are going to like the same sculpts, but we should respect and be considerate enough of one another to only say things to each other that are positive and encouraging. After all, that is what makes the reborn community so special-a variety of beautiful babies with unique features. Please everyone be loving and gentle when making comments.

This makes me remember being a little girl..playing Dolls with girlfriends. It isn't long before someone gets their nose out of joint..when another makes a comment sure to get another's ire up. "Well, I'm taking my Dolls and going home!..!" That phrase still brings in my head. LOL

There are always sculpts that a person will not like as much as others, however we are all diferent and so are reborns. That is a beautiful baby!

Awwww, he is sooo sweet. ❤️❤️❤️ Gosh, I so needed to see this after being so swamped and not being able to spend time with my own babies. You know, it’s how something is expressed, which can make or break a situation. Not everyone is going to like every sculpt, but that doesn’t give an excuse to be rude. Plus, there are times when it needs to be kept to yourself. If someone doesn’t like something, they don’t have to watch and can just move on. Like, if I can’t find something positive to say about something, I just don’t say anything and then go find something that is more to my liking. Rude comments like that can really scare off a new collector. Plus, there are people who get their feelings hurt very easily , and such rude comments can have such an impact on the bond they have with that particular baby. I certainly don’t like rude comments but for me, it won’t change how I feel about a baby because when I like something or fall in love with something, my opinion isn’t easily swayed. I have that level of confidence, but not everyone does, and it can really shake someone up. Not cool! My goodness! You’ve certainly got your hands full. I don’t envy you one bit, but you have such a big heart to help these young people out like this. Not everyone would do that. For us, we’re having to do some major penny pinching, at least for a while right now. We’ve got things we need to pay off so we’re having to put major clamps on inessentials for a while. Adulting is hard, no lie. But I think during these kinds of times, it gives you more of an appreciation for what you do have. Anyway, I hope things calm down for you very soon and you get back to the more normal routine. Have a wonderful day, my sweet friend. Exactly!!!!!! I said the same thing about Sassy until I painted her and realized all the Beautiful details Bonnie Brown put into her, also she is a very unique size, she is just made differently than any other reborn I have. She is full of personality when she comes to life and is just so classic, very vintage vibe comes from her and I am into that. She is just so sweet in person and just a different feel when you hold her. Wasn’t until I created her myself that I fell in love with her. But….like you said, if it’s not your thing, move on. Nothing wrong with that, we all have our preferences. 💗💗💗💗💗💗
All sculpts are wonderful. It's not easy making the babies. I'm working on my first one. Very time consuming. Paints and supplies are expensive.

Ouuu what was the company of that varnish? Was it the air dry one from Macphersons?
Nope it’s called soft touch by home decor I think but there is a very unique recipe for it, you have to mix and use it in a very specific way. Email me if you need it.
