I wouldn’t say that, the ending episodes to DBS, all might vs all for one, bakugo vs midoriya, asta in Black clover knocking out the despair guy(forgot his name).
Without a doubt, this is still one of the best fights in season 1 for me. These guys were practically equals, and it shows with how they just keep wailing punches on each other, with neither one giving too much ground. Loved every second!
The fact that Joe makes Aragaki bleed that badly without gear while being pummeled is truely a feat of strength.
any good punch to the face can make someone bleed badly. you can break their nose, give them a black eye, etc. the face is easy to bruise

Simon Art Club Him and Ippo could go neck and neck. Personally I think Yuri would've beaten him before gear but he fought after taking off gear. Though I think Joe Yabuki (the character Junkdog is based off) would beat him. But hey those are character who aren't in the show. Atleast Junkdog won a world title.

How'd you like this show? At best I give it an 8/10. Its nothing crazy in writing but its done well. Especially when comparing it to other modern anime
Agreed. I'd be willing to bump it up to 8.5 if they give it a stellar ending, but as of now i'd give it an 8/10 as well.
Ash Think they'll give it the same ending as the original? Or change the ending to separate it even further? I'm kinda hoping they'll change it, since so much has been changed in general. But how do you top something so iconic??
Lathy Loon I think it will feel cheap if they give it the same ending as the original. This series hasn't really earned it in 13 episodes since we don't know anything about Joe's past or seen much of his development or struggles.
I'm hoping Joe loses but he sparks a revolution in the sport. Either people ditch their gears (to see who the actual genuine articles are) or they are done in a minimalistic way. And maybe a sequel? The reason I like the idea of ditching gears is because real boxing might be a thing in their world. If Yuri isn't the champ at "real boxing" then we can see both Joe and Yuri struggle to become the best.

If you guys like this you should read the manga Levius.
Boxing with metal arms in a victorian/steampunk setting, it's awesome and one of the best mangas of these last years.
It's far more gory as well, that's a plus in many people's eyes.

This anime is soooooooo amazing that I still feel depressed that it ended. Acting 10/10, bgm 10/10, art style 10/10, story 10/0.. Hosoya yoshimasa did such great job like I am soooooooooooo proud of him

Nah not Even close, This was set in the mid 2080s about 60 years from now
Rocky was more about hard life lessons, not just boxing. I never got that vibe or feeling from Megalo Box. As entertaining as this anime was, it didn't really deliver that underdog theme everyone claims it was about because it honestly never felt like Joe could lose. Don't get me wrong, I liked this anime as much as the next person, but at the end of the day the real reason anyone even bothered to pick this thing up was because it had fighting in it and the art style was reminiscent of older anime most of us grew up with.

Well if you watch the episode from the beginning they certainly had a lot more impact, they’re really almost out of steam at this point I guess.
I think it's more about pushing themselves than dishing out pain.
Instead you feel the impact of the emotions

Eh, I like this show but Ashita no Joe punches were more impactful, this feels empty. I don’t feel the force of it, but I still loved the characters.
With Ashita No Joe's sound effects you can feel the impact. This fight was them tired while exchanging punches.

Callous Teo you do realize that making anime in 60fps doesn't actually work. They're just passing the video through a program to give the illusion of 60fps. It makes the clips look all awkward and janky.

Callous Teo animation is made to be in 24fps they have no purpose in 60fps. All of his videos are passed through a video editing filter to give the illusion of 60fps. I doubt you'd understand since you don't study animation.

Megalobox is great. But you can't expect a show like megalobox to compare to the absolutle anime monolith like hajime, and it's simply due to length. Hajime was always able to breathe, if it wanted to develop the characters then sure it had a few episodes to do so without ever feeling padded and fillery. Heck, the first arc of hni is a tournament, like megalobox. Imagine trying to tell all of ippos story as well as creating the world ect with only that one arc, its difficult. So please don't belittle a wonderfully made anime like megalobox just because it doesn't compare to arguably one of the most influential anime/manga ever.
