      Do you plan on making any of your buildings using webrick? Especially The minifigure scale skyscrapers

    honestly one of the best lego cities. most lego youtubers who do cities just use official lego modular buildings and dont create their own buildings and roads. in my opinion lego cities are supposed to be custom. they should have the owners touch and design seen throughout it. you guys do a great job at this and its honestly amazing. great job and keep it up.

      Thank you! Wish this was said more often because we completely agree - too many cities out there using the same sets, not letting imaginations shine through. Using official sets is perfectly fine, but would love to see more people explore their own creativity and imagination!

      and the fact that you guys have a smaller space than most builders, and how that causes you guys to change the layout a lot i think is awesome because as a viewer im always seeing something new each time and for you i feel like that can definitely make you guys use some imagination (and a little bit of bricklink studio🤣) to figure out new ways to do stuff.

    • @AFOLTV

      Haha good point! If we had a huge space there would definitely be a lot less change/ more to manage, so there are pros to a small space 😅

      i have a very small space but it perfectly fits the new road plates so ive been designing a city. you are probably the #1 inspiration for it. i am using your roads with the bike train track which are just awesome. its amazing that you share how to recreate what you have in your city

    Looking forward to whatever you have planned next. One suggestion for LA, or your new hybrid of LA and custom would be to reduce the amount of roads. The highway is so cool and I would love to see it brought to the new layout but maybe cut on half? The same treatment could happen with the oceanfront boulevard. I think for your sake these upcoming changes will make your time in the Lego room more enjoyable and less claustrophobic. Keep up the great work!

    I love the detail you put into the city and the LA layout is epic , however I thing you’d create a more complete city using the flavour of LA, Miami, Hawaii and going 20%-40% smaller on the bigger buildings - loved your beach and the start of the wilderness section you started in 1 or 2 cities ago. I love building on 48x48 as love the detail you can get into things but space becomes such an issue.
    Whatever you do it will look amazing and always look forward to your videos dropping as you give me so much inspiration for my own MOCs. Keep up the great work and hope you feel better soon. 👍🏼

    Ever consider creating a city at a smaller scale? That would help reduce cost and take up less space, and let you fit LA, Santa Monica and NYC. Lego released Notre Dame and Hogwarts Castle and Grounds in micro scale, and they look pretty good.

    • @AFOLTV
      @AFOLTV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We were super close to doing a microscale city (did one a few years ago) and put out a public vote last year. 2/3 of people wanted to keep everything minifig, ~1/3 voted to go micro… we may try again in the future, but for now sticking to minifig scale

    • @wyk3982
      @wyk3982 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@AFOLTV It's your living quarters, your money, your time. I think you should do what you want, instead of relying on a public vote. A couple of months ago Jang from Jang bricks decided switch his city to focus on trains because that is what makes him happy. If you think building skyscrapers for both LA and NYC is what would make you happy, then you should find a way to do it that fits your space and budget. I heard Gobricks have more consistent color and quality than WeBricks.

  • @jossdeiboss
    @jossdeiboss 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I think you should keep the skyscrapers as they are now and just put them more together to have a smaller city centre.
    You should then start with a smaller layout and eventually expand when you have time/money.
    It feels like you are wasting most of the time in re-doing over and over again a city without proper planning.
    I like the city but I feel it's a shame seeing projects being scrapped all the time.
    My advice is: keep things simple and finish them. LEGO allows you to expand and modify of course but you should start from a small core that you want to keep.
    If needed, some modifications could be done when the core is done and you need to integrate better with other expansions. However, I have noticed you always build throughout the space, leaving spaces here and there and the product never looks finished.
    I wish you the best! I'll keep following your progress :)

    Hi, you guys made an incredible Lego city. It's the most accurate L.A. replica in Lego ever seen across the hole internet. For your space it's a good idea to stack more table. But also what you can do is more underground roads and highways. For exemple in dowtown L.A. irl they actually have a lot of underground tunnels under huge skyscrapper. The U.S. Bank Tower is also raised above ground level. Same thing with some freeways. Maybe you can also try to put underground roads and freeways. Actually I've never been in L.A. I mostly talk about what've I played in gta v and San Andreas. But they didn't made an actual replica on scale. But they sure have genually well placed skyscrappers in Downtown. For a 2004 ps2 game gta sa made a really nice downtown. They didn't have a lot of space in game but everything is so well placed. It gives impression to the player of being lost in it. Despite the roads are only 2 lanes, they don't have a lot of crossed intersections just like in irl. But it really makes you feel in L.A. But anyway you have lots of really accurate Skyscrappers and santa monica buildings. Even if you raise the city I don't think it might even touch the ceilling. Also even if you don't have all the L.A. skyscrappers, you have at least have all the iconics one. It kinda look like L.A. in the 90s when they used to have less skyscrappers. And if you need pre planning your city I can suggest you the mods of Cities Skyline. They have all sorts of building a huge variety of it and a lot of L.A. one of course. Hope to see you guys soon and I wish you a good continuation for your future Lego city.

    Huge fan. You guys are one of the only unique LEGO creators and love it. It’s unfortunate you can’t do skyscrapers, but LEGO is expensive and I can’t disagree with that. Hopefully it will open up new ideas that could be even better! You are yet to disappoint.
    1. Love your 7/11 scene. Maybe do more like that? Since no skyscrapers, do something more residential. Just a thought
    2. Since you change layouts a bunch maybe challenge yourselves to do themes. Ex: for 4 months you build zombie apocalypse than the next 4 you do train yard or whatever - you get the point.

    • @AFOLTV
      @AFOLTV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s turned out better than expected, but they do have parts every now and then that need to be swapped with LEGO. Saves a ton on skyscrapers tho!

    • @LioncityMOCS
      @LioncityMOCS 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AFOLTV why do you have to swap? Clutch power?

    • @AFOLTV
      @AFOLTV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Never had an issue with clutch power except one part. The issue is usually color match, but even then, 95% of the time it’s accurate. If you were to order say 100 parts, 60 would be indistinguishable, 35 would be really good, 4 would be slightly off color, and 1 would be loose/ bad.

    I love what you do. But still.
    Here is just an idea of my own, but why not holding to finish your magnificent L.A. with the missing part of the beach, some green areas ,and if you have enough pieces left, one or two smaller buildings (2 or 3 floors maximum). You have also your monorail... Keep doing and make small updates like that for us your fans.
    Once you're done, take a picture and buil something else.
    Maybe L.A plus you airport annnd New York on the same place at the same time is just too much.
    It's only my opinion, but you have a great sens of design (it is basically the core talent) a lot of pieces there, and a large enough room to make us dream again.

    Can you make more buildings to make it look like the map of gta 5

  • @kennethcarozza6147

    This is just my two cents, and you are welcome to give me change, but I always preferred your earlier custom builds, as opposed to this LA version. Your shorter builds have more character, and showed off your creativity. Beyond the additional cost to build, the LA skyscrapers just seem like towers of bricks. In the end... if you are having fun, and enjoying the process that is all that matters.
