@MrDelcol only saying cos i never removed the freehub body to do mine. i just popped both 9mm caps off (held on by o rings) with pump pliers, as you did. Removed the bearing seal and drifted the thru axle out from the drive side to the rotor side of the hub removed the bearing, drifted the new axle in to the bearing left in the drive side using a socket underneath and pressed the bearing back in the rotor side. nice improvisation tho n fair play for uploading
Nice video, I'd add a couple of points -if the rachets from the freehub spring out you have a new problem, especially if you are doing the work in the back garden. I'd do it over a piece of newspaper. -I've only ever seen freehub scoring with SRAM cassettes -same as you have. Not Shimano parts. Maybe the contact surfaces of the Shimano parts are wider, so the SRAM kit puts more pressure on its contace points
Hi there, great video, but I'm taking a part a QR hub with a hollow axle and its a DMR revolver, should I just be able to knock the axle out like you did once I remove the end caps and small bolts that keep them in place?
@6sy9 sounds easier. i just followed the hope video for rebuilding the hub as it's a simlar procedure,, as in you have to drift the axel out.. it was the first time we done anything like this stripping a hub.. as for the video i wanted to show others how easy it is to convert the hope hubs.. thanks... nice prelude by the way,
can you remove the end few rings.? the ones that aint part of the block. try to grip the freehub body with some sort of grips be very careful as it is soft alloy, and try to force the cassette backwards with the chain whip, while holding the freehub body. this is how i got mine off when i changed my cassette for a new one. or you can try wiggling it around like i did in the vid.. but i removed the freehub body from the hub to get some weight onto it... good luck..
hi ya mate nice video but you did not need to replace the axle the one already in the hub would work and you would of only had to buy the 10mm bolt through end caps
Just followed your instructions. Much easier than I expected. Thanks!

hi ya mate nice video but you did not need to replace the axle the one already in the hub would work and you would of only had to buy the 10mm bolt through end caps
that's only on the newer evo hubs on the older pro 2 you had to do the axle to.
