I was watching another Task a bit ago- I think it was the 'Song About Rosalind' task- and there was a shot of the garden from above and you could see a crew member's head poking over the top of the shed and it was *so* weird, because you just forget that this is a proper commercial television programme with a crew.
@@kisbie I saw him do standup at about the same time he was playing Thermoman and yes, he was pretty much being Father Dougal then as well! He still retains that "little boy lost" quality. It's very endearing.
This was such a good task to introduce everyone and their methods to the audience. However, I do think we need to see the whole video of Bridget talking about veins because I don't know how anyone could talk about veins for a while. 😂
In 13 series, I've laughed uncontrollably twice while watching Taskmaster. Both times involved Ardal. One was the challenge where they were trying to trick Greg by disguising body parts, and he was a complete mess by the end for no apparent reason. And the other was a final task to find out that one person's name, and they were all asking the most irrelevant questions and the task was going on forever.

Are full episodes a thing of the past? I know we were insanely spoiled getting the new episodes on TH-cam the day they aired, but for us outside the UK that was an amazing way of still getting to see them despite not being able to watch them on the television! And I'm surely not gonna watch tasks from the new episodes before having seen said episodes :( So all this new content is stuff I am gonna skip unfortunately. And I do really miss my weekly Taskmaster fix! I used to love Taskmaster Thursdays!
On Twitter, Alex said that they're having some "complications" right now, but the season 13 episodes will be on youtube, too: "Sorry, they will all go up on TH-cam as soon as we are able to put them there. Complications etc! Thanks for patience!"
@Ah! ah! Ah! ah! No but that's weird, because I've actually seen all of those before on this channel. I literally watched every season up to and including 12 on the Taskmaster TH-cam. Maybe I was lucky over here in the Netherlands and we were part of a select group that got all the previous seasons as they came out, but I 100% watched all the previous series here

I’d say Sophie is the only one who might be considered ‘obscure’. You’ve got a guy who starred in one of the most popular sitcoms of all time (and several other prime time BBC One series more recently), a woman who’s been on QI about 10 times (and is the wife of Stewart Lee, so Daily Mail readers have at least heard of her) and TWO former Strictly Come Dancing contestants. This is one of the most mainstream lineups TM has ever had.
I've never watched strictly, I've never been into QI and I don't read the papers, never heard of bridgette Christie. I will stand corrected on the ardal fella as I thought his face looked familiar. So 2 out of 5 then 😁

Judi Love has been a presenter on Loose Women for a few years now. That's a very popular daytime TV show that has been nominated for and won quite a few awards over the decades. So I'm willing to bet a lot of people know who she is. Hell, given the popularity of the show I'd wager that, in the UK, more people today recognize Judi than Ardal. Remember, Father Ted is ~25 years old. There are entire generations of people who've never seen that show because it's before their time. And people who are into the stand-up scene in the UK are familiar with Bridget, Chris, and Sophie. So, your lack of knowing who they are just indicates you're not really that interested in stand-up comedy. No shame in that, stand-up isn't everyone's cup of tea for comedy. But some people do like that stuff and know a few names of people currently working the circuit. You may only care about Ardal because he's the one you recognize, but Alex and the Andy's (you know, the people who recruit the contestants) are way more in touch with the current comedy scene than you are, given that for them it's their job whereas for you it isn't. So, I'd take a chance on trusting them to have found great talent just like they have for the 12 series before now. Personally, Chris was the one I knew the least about and I'm super glad to have an opportunity through Taskmaster to be more familiar with him. This whole cast is amazing, as is very typical for this wonderful show.
