    For me the first few things I have to do its window and taillight tints, followed by swapping out all the factory speakers and radio. Now with the 2015 JGC I just got I have no choice but to keep the 8.4 Uconnect. But I plan on getting a Pac Audio Adapter to get the out puts to my amps. I like to try and get a lowering kit. Which is why I'm glad you made this video gave me some new ideas. And lastly I like to get wheels but that's last thing on my list unless I get them for a good deal. Those factory spider monkeys you had. If I had paid attention more to the page I would have jump on them!!

Did you just put the new springs on back, or in front too. And also, is there a certain height that you recommend? Want to get that look but don't want to sacrifice ride quality. Scott Lang You’ll want to get a set of Eibach Pro springs. The kit comes with front and rear. You won’t need anything else and the drop should be 1” in the front and 1.5” in the rear. You won’t even notice a difference in ride quality. Joe Solismo at solisracinggroup.com can hook you up. That’s what I had on my SRT and will be putting on the TH

    2 years later but the catch can reasoning is because the PCV system is usually a legal requirement for emissions. A catch can generally circumvents this system.

    • @EastCoastJeepSRT
      @EastCoastJeepSRT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Incorrect. It doesn’t circumvent the system. Rather than forcing that oil back into the intake to be burned off it’s collected in the can. It’s not maliciously stealing oil from the system. It’s preventing it from ruining your engine over time. Oil isn’t meant to be burned off like that. The reason the EPA mandated that system was due to engine designs of yesteryear having drip lines to get rid of that oil blow by. It would drop onto the ground. Sadly that was before people realized oil getting into the soil seeps into the ground water contaminating it. Catch cans solve this problem and prolong the life of the motor with this high tech “drip line” to get rid of that gunk

    • @tomh894
      @tomh894 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EastCoastJeepSRT Nah I agree with what you're saying but the PCV system is in place to help divert gases back into the combustion chamber from the crank case, The PCV system itself is there as a requirement for emissions standards. Catching the oil is definitely a good idea.

    • @EastCoastJeepSRT
      @EastCoastJeepSRT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tomh894 I just explained that. I just told you WHY it’s there, and why a catch can is important. Engines weren’t designed to have oil shot back into the intake manifold. The EPA forced engine designers to do that because oil dripping from the old drip lines fouled ground water. Has zero to do with emissions. Use Google to look up the history of this design. They didn’t do this to help emissions

    • @tomh894
      @tomh894 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EastCoastJeepSRT Combustion gases being vented into the atmosphere is why they designed the PCV system. And a catch can with a breather vents these gases back into the atmosphere (yes not all have breathers). Oil dripping onto the ground is polluting as well, sure. I understand and agree with that part. However in many countries that have EPA/Environmental standards when it comes to vehicle emissions, bypassing a manufacturers system to manage those gases could technically be labelled defective by police or an EPA officer, if you come across a highway patrol officer here in Australia that woke up on the wrong side of the bed you could be stung for it. Same way a DPF filtration or Adblue system on diesels not working properly is looked at. Anyway aside from that dude lol, i enjoy your content, thanks for replying.

  • @chrisvarona1071
    @chrisvarona1071 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First off, love the vid's. I don't agree with you on oil causing carbon. Oils are made with additives to prevent carbon build up. So if you have direct injection motor and you install a catch can you will have more carbon build up on the top of the valves. They have done many studies on this and found that motors last longer with a little oil running through them. Lubricating valves and cylinder walls is never a bad thing. The catch can will improve performance but will not increase longevity of the motor.

    • @EastCoastJeepSRT
      @EastCoastJeepSRT  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What "studies"? There is not one study that agrees redirecting oil back into your intake manifold to be burned off is a good idea. There are studies and evidence to prove that carbon deposits still build up due to the closed EPA mandated PCV System. Many articles agree on this.
      www.motor.com/magazine-summary/carbon-deposits-cleaning-up-whats-left-behind/
      www.knowyourparts.com/technical-resources/engine/how-to-prevent-engine-deposits/
      Just Google the problem and practically every article or tech page is pointing to carbon deposits that have built up from being redirected into the intake manifold, and in our case, having a high compression engine, we get more of it than other types of engines.
      repairpal.com/loss-of-power-due-to-oil-and-carbon-build-up-in-intake-manifold-432
      Seriously take the time to click these links and read them. You can disagree with me, but the evidence is overwhelming,

    Why lower the back when you could lift the front

      Because that would look gay.

      It accomplished the same even look and adds more clearance. Since when is a small lift gay....

      Andrew_Dudinetz Since we’re talking about a Trackhawk and not a Wrangler. That’s the gayest thing anyone’s even suggested for a Trackhawk. A little lift? Why not throw in a bag of dicks and plan a camping trip to Brokeback Mountain? You don’t lift an SRT or a Trackhawk my friend.

    Maybe they're good tips, but for GOD SAKES!, cut the chitty chat and get to the point. This could have been a 5 min video instead of 21 mins. I couldn't make it past halfway through mod#3. I was looking for your mod suggestions, not a comedy act 😩

    The fact that the Manufacturer doesnt put a $100 Catch can is reason enough not to buy a JEEP

    oil does not give your car anymore power; it is the spark plugs that give you the power

      frances vincent Who said anything about oil giving you power lol! Also, it’s not just spark. Timing, fuel, and spark. smh
