Great!, "do it yourself" is the best way, so do I. And very lucky to have Dirty Billy Garage in your neighbourhood. Thanks for the vid. Be safe. "bouncy innie"
Supposedly K&N filters are not longer manufactured in USA. Their quality went down and many people no longer use them on their motorcycles. I guess an alternative is just to use the OE filter just to be safe.
Throwing K&N oil filters out is all they're good for. I've heard so many horror stories about folks losing the filter, or it failing at the track. It's so bad that some track day organizers tell you not to use them at the riders meeting. I'd rather lose the filter or have it fail on the track than the street. Looking forward to you reusing your crush washer on your next oil change lol.
There's an easier way to remove (and reinstall) the oil temp sensor connector. You can twist and slide the rubber protection up on the wire, it's then easier to remove the connector. I do it like that on my 800, and IIRC the 620 as the same parts, so it should work ;)
The narration and realities are very entertaining. Now take a ride from dumbo or wherever that shop its over the Brooklyn bridge, make your way north to 125th street, then head swifty downtown via any street, ave or road you want!
With an empty oil filter the oil pump sucks air initially and the crank has contact with the bearings under the pressure from the combustion. It is better to fill up the filter with oil initially. I don‘t know if its possible with this bikes ignition without doing damage, but on my airhead I pull out the plugs, put them to the ignition wires and lay them on the cylinders to ground them. Then i let the starter spin the engine until the oil pressure warning lamp turns off.
florianuspiscator Agreed, definitely always prime the oil filter. Even then it still takes about 12-15 seconds for the vertical cylinder head to get oil flow. It results in less ‘topping off’ after running the engine.
BRO! I just sold my R1 to Andrew and he showed me this shop. That’s his track R6 sitting with the decals on it. Always wondered if this shop was open to the public. No idea you go here too.
Hey how is it going ? Little question: do you feel any substancial pressure on your wrists when riding your ducati... Cause i want this bike to be my first one but I haven't tested it yet (still need my licence) and because i'm kind of heavy for the moment (230lbs for 6ft) I was just wondering how bad it would be...I'm currently losing weight and stuff, aiming for 180lbs but i'm planning to buy one for august when i'll probably be at 210-215 lbs... so what do you think ? thanks for taking the time to respond :)
No pressure on the wrists since the bars are more upright. They are not low like the clipon bars on some sporty bikes - I can ride for hours with no issues. I'm at 185 now but I"m also shorter by 3 inches than you.
Hello, my friend. You're a biker, a cook and a mechanic.👍🏻👍🏻
I try to do it all!

Incredibly lucky. This place is great. Perfect vibes.

So I have heard. I been using Hiflo, they seem to work great and are basically same thing as OEM
bouncy innie - thx, very educational
You are very welcome.
"I use olive oil for everything"...... I bet you do!!!! The community garage is such a great idea.
LOVE olive oil :) And yes yes, this spot is perfect.

I hear ya. Same same here. I've always thought that K+N was the best but clearly its just not so

Yea that makes sense. Some days I can plop it on there like nada and other days I struggle. Thanks for the tip!
I wish there was a garage like that near me... jealous.
Yea man, this spot is dope as hell
Do it all by yourself with your own hands, like a real biker, love it !!! I do the same
Stay safe !
Way too much fun to let someone else do it :)

Haha indeed! Well, todays vlog is in dumbo :) Thank you, i'm glad you enjoy!

Thank you for the tips. I'll def do that in the future. I've heard this before but always forget to put a lil oil in the filter.
great job , interesting to see a motorcycle shop in NYC..hello bro ..
My favorite moto garage in NYC
0.22 cents for a washer... wait it's a Ducati washer = $27.95
Ha! Pretty much :)
I need to do oil and brakes. Did you see the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds?
yes I did! the little air show was great. i still need to do the brakes, maybe today.... never bled my own moto brakes before but it seems easy.

Haha small world. Yea i know andrew and know his bikes :) the shop is open to the public as long as you pay the monthly membership
Btw he is loving his “new” r1
Normally I turn the engine over one or two times at the end while draining with kill switch on, it gets out an extra cup of the old oil.
Hmmm how do i do that exactly? Sounds interesting
@@ducatinyc uncap the spark plug leads, so the bike will not start, turn the engine over for 1 second. Wait 5 minutes for additional oil to drain.

Ducati NYC Vlog thanks man ! Appreciate it :)
Dang it looks like u have alot of motorcycle's in your garage 😯
ALL the motorcycles :)
Oil up the rubber and stick it straight up inside, Dirty Billy not just a catchy name 😱.
It's all fun and games until someone falls in love.
Good oil change Bro😊
Thank you! :)
Happy Friday Bro and your welcome 👍 Have a great weekend😊
@@ducatinyc When was the last time you changed your fork oil and replaced dust seals?
@@chickengeorge_8261 unfortunately last year, blew them out
Funny.... came home from work and changed the oil on my 796. Check youtube..... this is up. lol
Ha! How was the oil? Did you wait too long like I did?
@@ducatinyc The bane of the air cooled engine is it always looks like it's too long. I try for every 2K. Ride safe.
Olio buono 😀🍼🌿
Haha thats right! Delicious and fast :P
😜✊
Trying to sell my car to ride my 620 more often. Car makes me so lazy.
Heck yes. Smart man :)
